Both of them were so well behaved, they had treats and cuddles from our reception team too 🥰

What is Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR)?

Antibiotic resistance occurs when bacteria develop defences that protect them from antibiotic medications, making treatment less effective ☹️

Antimicrobial resistance (AMR) is an increasing problem worldwide, affecting both human and animal health. Antibiotics are essential when treating many conditions in animals and people, but bacteria are becoming resistant to many antibiotics that we rely on in human and veterinary medicine 😬

AMR and the environment
🌎 The environment is at risk if antibiotics aren’t disposed of properly. If antibiotics are disposed of inappropriately e.g. via household waste, this can contribute to antimicrobial resistance in the environment
💚 Always return unused or out of date antibiotics to your vet for safe disposal
🩵 Antimicrobial resistance is one of the biggest global health issues of our time. We must act, together.

Our practice is taking part in the antibiotic amnesty this November 🫶

Clients can return any unused or out of date antibiotics to us for safe disposal.

Meet Boss and Toby 🩵

They both had an appointment with one of our directors Pascal last week and were such good boys 🩵

🤔 Did you know all of our vets including our directors work in both locations The Wylie Veterinary Centre our 24-hour hospital in Upminster and our Wylie Wellness Centre Brentwood

Boss is a little nervous around other dogs so they all waited away from other dogs which made his experience much nicer... We will always accommodate your dogs needs 🫶

💜 We will always ask if we can say hello and give them a treat
🩷 We will make sure you're comfortable waiting around other pets and if not that's not a problem

Keep an eye on our socials as we are introducing a new type of waiting area that ALL dogs are going to love 🧡 It will relax and help tire them out before their appointment making a visit to the vets an enjoyable experience for them and you 👍🥰

It was our cat only clinic yesterday, so here's a couple of our purrffecct patients 😻

🩵 Percy the amazing Savannah Cat (Savannahs are an energetic breed known for their wild look and playful nature! This unique breed is a cross between a domestic cat and a serval, a wild African cat known for its tall, slender build and large ears. We do not see many Savannahs, mainly due to their size and nature. Percy has a large outdoor run but he also comes indoors for cuddles with his human and doggy friend🥰

🩷🩵🩷 Mummy BP and her two gorgeous kittens Ralph and Lauren ... Just too cute... a gorgeous, healthy family of Ragdoll's 😍

Look who had a Perfect Fit harness today ..... little Dolly 🩷

Shes only 3 months old and was so well behaved, all she wanted was cuddles 😍

Thanks for visiting Dolly, your harness not only looks amazing (with the matching lead 🥰) , but it's safe as it pulls on your chest bone, doesn't ride up and you have full range of movement of your shoulders 💜

It's also modular so we can change the 3 pieces individually to change the fit if needed and its machine washable 🧡

Dolly you are a delight !!! We cant wait to see you grow 🫶

It was our cat friendly clinic today so here's some gorgeous cats to remind you 🩷

Little confident Joey 🩵 He was on a harness and very happy to say hello to everyone 😻 Joey joined our Prevention Plan, which is a monthly payment plan that saves you money and spreads the cost of all of your preventative needs 💚

Sassy Masha 💜 She has one eye, it was removed at a very young age and hasn't hindered her in any way. She lives with 4 other cats and is a very confident cat 🧡

Our dedicated cat clinic is every Friday from 9am to 12.30pm 😻

Its the purrfect time to bring your cat to the vets, its peaceful and. It is full of cat friendly smells and treats ❤️

These Free Nurse Dental checks are taking place at our Wellness Centre 🫶

🐶🐱 Its dental pet awareness month at Wylies 🐾🐾

Throughout October we are holding a Dental Healthcare Assessment month at our Wellness Centre in Brentwood. Our nursing team are checking dogs and cats teeth free of charge ❤

Did you know dental disease can affect over 60% of dogs and cats by the age of 3 years old?

Dental disease:
> Plaque and tartar
> Smelly breath (halitosis)
> Red or bleeding gums
> In later stages tooth loss

Dental disease is a painful condition but many dogs and cats will continue to eat despite this. Dental disease can also affect other organs including the liver, kidneys and heart as the plaque and tartar is formed of bacteria and easily passed around the body.

Fortunately there are ways we can help prevent dental disease:
🐾 Brushing teeth daily
🐾 Encouraging chewing - raw meaty bones and natural chews
🐾 Using products such as plaque off which can added to their food or aquadent which can be added to their water
> Regularly examining the mouth and taking action when needed

Our nursing team will assess your pets mouth, determine if a dental may be indicated and discuss ways to keep your pets teeth healthy and clean at home.
