Things are getting back to normal after a difficult few weeks with this do**us after he cut an artery in the back of his ankle galavanting in the garden. Back to frequent zoomies now! 🐶🥳🥰

After a worrying night of massive bloating, lethargy and discomfort, Mo compelled me to take her to the Vets...

Sat in the waiting room she ripped out a fart which an onlooker blamed me for (by the look on her face).

£97 and some blood tests later, it’s confirmed that sneaking into the massive bag of dry food when my back was turned was the cause, the onslaught of mutt puffs and a confused but interested Mo airing her nose into the clouds she so generously shares continues...

Mo has been loving our new place, she’s loving having company throughout the night. She’s generally pretty well behaved when the lights go out, but when the suns up the games begin 😂

This dog was one of my first ever home visits months ago, a dog that wasn’t suitable for classes due to behavioural issues. Biting, reactive and very little control in the house or outside. It took one visit, and some recaps over texts to get owners Luke and Leanna Crumbie on their way.

The true fix is to develop YOU to be the trainer, not copy cat sessions.

Apologies for no updates as we haven’t been as active as usual in the past week or so. It’s been a busy week as we’ve just bought our first house! It’s a real privilege tying in with Porthcawl Veterans Hub, so many attending the official opening of the facility shows how much can be achieved by pulling together as a community.

The Mayor of Porthcawl and her husband Mike are really supportive of all the Veterans and I was proud to introduce them to my Ex Military Working Dog, Mo who’s recently retired.

Massive well done to those who attended tonight’s classes, you’re all beginning to grasp what’s necessary to achieve true focus. For Roxy, she couldn’t even be in the same space as another dog without learning true focus.

Katie the spaniel, is beginning to pre-emptively move into heel with little or no physical cue from the owner while offering true focus as she goes. Massive progress. And that’s not including the puppy class!

Hi everyone,

Just an update from me and to keep people informed. After spending two months or so at Fur Indoors (previously known as Action Petz Bridgend) I decided it was time part ways. Although we both shared similar ambitions and desires to overcome people’s problems with their dogs, we have very different ways of remedying that.

I want to put on record my gratitude for working there and meeting the staff and clients along with the dogs I worked with in that time. I wish you all the very best in the future.

For me, I believe firmly in my ethos and will continue to focus on developing my clients as trainers because you can’t do more until you know more.

Excellent progress from Alison and Katie last week working on the beginning steps of teaching Katie ‘heel’. Alison is working using a word, lure, reward sequence. Alison’s homework was to work on her coordination within this sequence. This skill can be transfer across most training. We look forward to seeing them both this evening at our class in Tondu. It was lovely to welcome Madeline and Roxy to our training class last night! Roxy is a rescue who’s started to learn true focus with Madeline. Here at ACS true focus is the key aspect of everything we do. It’s early days but Roxy is getting to grips with looking at mums eyes rather than mums treats! 👀🐾

It’s almost time for this evenings weekly training classes at the Wesley centre in Tondu, Bridgend! 🐶Our 6.30pm - 7.30pm is a puppy class for dogs under 1year and our 7.30pm - 8.30pm class is for all other ages and abilities looking for some guidance on training/obedience 😁. Places still available, message or call to secure your space! ⭐️ Spaces can be booked individually (£15) or blocks of five sessions (£70). We look forward to seeing you all tonight 🤩🐾.

An absolutely brilliant demonstration from Fin and her clever puppy Bramble! Bramble is becoming a master at real focus and eye contact with Fin. Yesterday’s puppy class saw the introduction of ‘heel’. After a few repetitions Bramble is starting to pick it up nicely!
