We now have small, young axolotl in store, which will be available from the weekend, but please do your research as they’re not the easy pets many seem to think (they also grow much larger than many seem to think!)
Please also remember that axolotl are NOT suitable to share an aquarium with ANY other species (whether that’s fish or crustaceans!)
A wide range of colour forms are available, albino, wild type, lavender, leucistic (often called ‘Lucys’)…we’ve been asked a lot about when we’d have more of them in store, so if you’ve asked recently, now is the time to do more research!
Some fantastic new additions have joined our recent new favourites so far this week! From black devil ram and double red apistogramma dwarf cichlids, to black emperor tetra and gold cardinal tetra, from whiptail catfish and golden lyretail killifish, to boesemani fire red rainbowfish and the always popular turquoise rainbowfish, we’ve some special new members of fishy friends in store at Maidenhead Aquatics Pyle! Some of these species have been eagerly awaited to come in store, and have not failed to impress us! Don’t forget to call in to avoid missing out as we’ve had a lot of interest in a number of these species before they even arrived, and we’ve more to come too! For those seeking something VERY different, make sure to stay tuned this week, as we’ll be showcasing some truly amazing feature fish unlike anything that’s been in our store ever before, and will be available in VERY limited numbers (many of which being as limited as single individuals, so only one person will be lucky enough to get them in their home aquariums!)
Some of the amazingly awesome fish (and plants) we have in store this weekend, so don’t forget to visit and see us, we’ve something for everyone and every aquarium or pond! We look forward to seeing you!
Our new shrimp have arrived and are available from today, some different varieties in store with the addition of these, plus more of the species/colour varieties we’ve had before (eg amano shrimp, neocardinia etc!)
The colour on the golden wonder panchax (Aplocheilus Lineatus) really is now transforming into its wondererous gold! With the green, gold, yellow and red colours all really beginning to show through on many of the individuals, the fish in store really are beginning to shine and practically glow!
We’ve expanded our selection of Hyphessobrycon Pulchripinnis, the lemon tetra! Along with our regular yellow lemons, and the ‘Bolivian orange’ lemon tetra, we now also have some stunning young albinos too! You really need to google to see what they look like as adults, you won’t be disappointed! I’m hoping they all leave because the temptation for one new in store display aquarium with the three colour forms in is just way too much of a temptation! 😆
It isn’t easy to get the light right to capture the fact these are green neon tetra! We’ve been asked about them for a few weeks and it’s been the first time we’ve been able to get them in stock for a while, and they’ve settled really well already!
Let’s see how long they stay in store before leaving for their new aquariums! We also have our regular neons, diamond neons, black neons plus cardinal tetras all in store! It really is a bright and colourful section in store with them all!
How about this little gathering of our newly arrived platinum dragonscale dumbo eared female betta?! (That’s not easy to say out loud hahaha!)
After their journey to get to us it’s no surprise they want to just nestle down for a nap! They’re looking awesome though it has to be said! 🤩
Our dwarf chain loaches (Ambastaia Sidthimunki) keep getting better and better in appearance! A perfect shoaling species, growing to only 6cm in adult length, they’re the perfect pest snail battling comrade for many aquariums which the more commonly known clown and yo-yo loaches (who both grow considerably larger!) are unsuitable for!
(Although we also have the larger species of loaches and Botia also in store!)
Our Striped Barbs (Puntius Johorensis) are already over 2 inches (6cm) in length and are a great species for those seeking a larger sized shoaling species, with beautiful colouring and patternation, they’re certainly an eye catcher!
With both Dario and Badis species in stock, these micro predators are a teeny tiny gem ideal for tropical nano aquariums (in the video is Dario ‘Myanmar’, known as the Black Tiger Dario). With so many nano aquariums available in store which get a lot of attention, it’s species such as these which are the perfect inhabitants for such aquariums!
An absolutely beautiful fish with character, colour and pattern, all crammed into a fish who only grows up to 2.5cm in length!
Our red line danio (Devario Sonhill) are now colouring up well, and it’s only the beginning of their transformation! Another species who’s been overlooked in the three weeks they’ve been in store due to their not quite so colourful appearance, but like so many are sure to start flying out when they pop with colour and customers start paying attention to the hidden gems we have in store that without careful attention, tend to go unnoticed until it’s too late!
I’m already rather captivated by our newly arrived platinum halfbeaks (Dermogenys Pusillus). Quirky little fellows for those fancying something that little different, ideal for smaller tropical aquariums due to their small adult size (so be careful what you consider keeping with them!)
