I'm posting this publicly because I'm human and we all make mistakes.
So today I was incredibly lucky. Little Archie decided that recall was not his thing today. We had only been in the woods for 10 mins. He decided to disappear! No recall, no Archie. I frantically looked for him but no sign. He had run all the way back to the van. Luckily for me a nice man put Archie in his van and posted on the local hub to say he was safe! Myself and the dogs all walked back to the van to collect said naughty boy! Unfortunately my dog walking tag came off and there was no owners details tag on his collar. Please make sure you all have tags on collars with sturdy clips. Normally mine are a back up but it failed today. I have already ordered new ones. I worked with Archie and recall and allowed him off the lead when I felt it was safe. When I put him back on towards the end he chewed straight through my lead! So I've learned a few lessons today. I've been doing this for 10 years and I am still learning. Luckily it all turned out ok and we had a brilliant time despite being completely soaked. Archie's mum had a bad report at pawrents evening!
