I grew up in Surrey and moved away when I was nineteen to go to De Montfort University in Lincolnshire, graduating in 2002 with a BSc (Honours) First Class degree in Animal Science (Behaviour). In my late twenties I swapped my animal career for a career in finance, ending up in Bridgwater working as a Management Accountant for EDF Energy for over ten years. Another decade on and another life chang

ing decision - to step away from the rat race and focus on job satisfaction (full circle really!) - and so I set up my own dog walking business, Paws Outdoors, in 2021. I have even been back to college to complete an Introduction to Canine Behaviour course and a Canine First Aid course. Over a year on and it's the best decision I ever made - spending my days with our amazing Staffordshire Bull Terrier Hugo and all of the wonderful dogs that are now part of the Paws Outdoors family. I cannot help but smile when I watch them running and playing in the fields and streams in and around our wonderful town. Thank you to all my wonderful clients and their dogs for making Paws Outdoors what it is today and to my amazing friends and family for giving me the courage to follow my dreams :)

Tammy the GSD is still missing - she ran off from her dog walker in the Quantock Common area of Somerset on 19/10/24.

Last confirmed sighting on 20/10/24 on the St Audries / Kilve coastal path heading towards Hinkley point.

Possible sighting 28/10/24 on C182 near Stolfold junction, between Hinkley Point and Cannington.

Tammy had a collar and a long line on but these may have come off by now.

There have been a few posts concerning dogs running scared from fireworks - definitely worth checking fences and gates are up to scratch and also making sure microchip details are up to date should they manage to escape 🐾

As we approach Halloween please remember to recycle or compost your pumpkins at home after you have enjoyed using them and DO NOT take them up onto the Quantock Hills. It leaves a mess on the hills, and they are not good for the grazing animals. 🎃♻️

You have two choices when you’ve got a flat battery - call your breakdown cover and wait for hours or flash some leg and see who comes to help! Thankfully Sorrel Beth Canine Services and Wufs N Whiskers Pet Care are partial to a cankle and got me on the road in no time! Beyond grateful 🥰 🚐 🐾

Just done the invoices for the week and realised how busy I’ve been - it’s been one of the busiest weeks of the year! 🤪

Covering for the lovely Sorrel Beth Canine Services while she took a couple of days off, a training walk with Bridgwater Dog Training and most excitingly four new dogs have recently joined the Paws Outdoors family 🥳. They’ve all had lovely trial walks and for those joining the group walks they’ve been slowly introduced to the other dogs in the groups and are now starting to go out all together - it’s wonderful to see them settling in so well 🤩🐾

What a kind gesture from the binlady we met on one of our walks today - she carries around dog treats to spoil the dogs on her round but when we got back to the van she’d left some extra treats for us! If that lovely lady reads this - thank you 🙏 🐶 🐾
