Worth a read and my heart sings too when a guardian/ owner puts their dog on a lead when they see my dogs walking on lead.

Respect, care and kindness to all animal families

You’re on a walk and you see a dog on a lead.
Your dog is running free.

Q: What should you do next?

A: Recall your dog (or put it on a lead)
B. Let your dog run over and say hello.
C: Shout “Don’t worry, he’s friendly.”

The answer is…. A.

A dog could be on lead for lots of reasons:-

They could be blind or deaf (or both!)
They could be recovering from surgery.
They could be dog reactive.
They are in training.
They could be elderly or physically vulnerable.

In the end, it doesn’t matter why they are on a lead. Your dog has no right or business running up to ANYONE (dog or human) without clear PRIOR consent to do so.

Lovely time in Devon , the flats and I as Support team for Si and coastal path walk.
Back down to Devon tomorrow for some Detection work.
Really impressed with dog etiquette out on walks, leads go on as needed for oncoming walkers, and people polite around other people's dogs.
The dog beaches are a delight although busy and the dog walking country is fantastic.
Thankyou Devon for hosting us and back tomorrow.
