We have enjoyed another lovely week with Martha and Poppy E boarding, a day with Wilf, and walks with Jack, Heidi and Milo. We have been on the beach, to Sewerby Hall and woods, to Danes D**e and in cafes and the pub; a busy week for all.

Unfortunately there was also very sad news when we were informed that one of our first and most regular guests, Poppy S, the Collie from Haxby, had passed away at the good old age of fifteen and a half. Poppy had spent well over 100 nights with us and was a lovely girl. She will be sorely missed and our thoughts are with Terry on his loss.

We are taking a little break next week and heading to the Dales for a few nights R&R. We will catch up with you again in a fortnight, but in the meantime here are a few of our memories from the past week....

We seem to have had a week of alternating nice sunny autumnal days and then wet windy wintery days. Whatever the weather we have still enjoyed our walks with Poppy, Jack, Milo and Heidi.
Today we have been joined by the lovely Martha for a week's stay and she has already reminded us of how much she loves muddy puddles.

This week we are pleased to introduce two new customers, Milo and Heidi, who are having a weekly walk. Our old friend Poppy is back for a two-week holiday and she has been enjoying walks with Jack, even though it has mostly been wet and cold.
On Wednesday it was nice to have a visit from Jasper and to have a drizzly walk along the beach from Sewerby to Flamborough.
Hopefully we can cling on to a couple of dry and sunny days in the coming week.

At the weekend it felt like summer, with some lovely sunshine, but the few days before were wet, windy and cold. The weather certainly can't make it's mind up!
We have enjoyed the company of Jasper boarding all week, and some more walks with Jack. It was also nice to meet a new furry feline, Chloe, who needed visits for feeding and a cuddle.
We'll be taking a few days off after Jasper goes home on Wednesday so here are a few photos to put you on until we get back to it later next week.

It has been another busy week with Bella and Jasper boarding, and having walks with Wilf and an old friend we haven't seen for a while, Jack. There have been a couple of nice days, but Flamborough has been shrouded in autumnal mist for a lot of the time - our shorts will soon be going back into the wardrobe!

I love all dogs, but especially big dogs. In Haxby I loved walking the biggest dog in the village, Sherlock the lovely Spinone. On Monday I was pleased to be able to walk Flamborough's biggest dog, a gorgeous Newfie called Blue, the softest bear of a dog you could ever meet.
We've also been busy with boarding, with regular guests Wilf and Bella coming to stay. They have enjoyed walks in the woods, to Thornwick and to Sewerby, and Bella particularly liked seeing the fantastic Lego dinosaurs at Sewerby Hall.
Bella will go home on Wednesday and then we look forward to the arrival of Jasper for his annual holiday.

We've not had many dogs over the past fortnight, instead we provided home boarding for our two youngest grandchildren (and their dog Lex) and a stray racing pigeon (successfully returned to it's owner)! It makes a change!

Sadly, it is certainly beginning to feel like the end of summer, and the waterproofs have come out again - we got soaked on a walk to Sewerby with Ben and Pip yesterday, but it was worth it to see the amazing Lego dinosaur sculptures in the hall grounds. Hopefully though we will still get a couple more weeks of decent weather before autumn and then the gloom of winter.

We missed you last week so here is a catch up on a busy couple of weeks spent with our boarding guests Ben, Pip, Poppy and new girl Betty, and some visits to Eli and Cooper.
However, it's not all been dogs and we are enjoying having our four frisky ferret friends here to stay once again for their summer holiday.

A short summary of some of summer with Summer - lovely walks at Sewerby Hall, the lighthouse, beaches, woods and fields, and lots of ball play in the garden. It was nice to have a choccie in the house again and sad for her nine days of day care to come to an end.
We also enjoyed a couple of visits to Eli and Cooper before having a few days off and a lovely weekend with friends. Now we await the arrival of our old friends Ben and Pip for a few days boarding.

No boarders over the past week but we have enjoyed having Summer for day care every day - at times she really reminds us of our dear old Buddy. It has been lovely weather so our walks have been through Sewerby park in the cool of the evening. Fingers crossed that this spell of warmth lasts a couple of months more!

It has been a lovely week with lots of walks with Nancy on the beaches at Filey, Brid, Sewerby and Flamborough. She also enjoyed a walk in the woods with Wilf and dragged us into two cafes and the village pub, so she's had a great holiday with us. We were sorry to see her go home.
The week ended with a lovely surprise visit from our old friend Bella.
We have a busy week ahead with walks and day care with Summer, a lovely chocolate Lab who we don't see very often, and visits to Eli and Cooper.
Let's hope this nice weather continues. Don't forget the suntan lotion everyone (it makes a change to waterproofs!)

Summer at last and some days which were even too hot for the dogs. Let's hope the good weather stays now, we've waited a long time for summer to arrive.
We enjoyed most of last week with Florence before our old friend Nancy arrived for another week's holiday with us. It was also nice to catch up again with Eli and Cooper.
Have a good week and enjoy the sunshine!

Sorry we haven't posted for a couple of weeks, but due to a boarding cancellation we took the opportunity to have a couple of weekends away visiting family and friends. Now we are back and busy again, with an overnight stay by Leo our lovely Corgi friend, and with the arrival of Florence for a week's holiday.

We also enjoyed a day with Wilf, who is getting used to a new addition in his family with the arrival of baby Zachary. Our love and congratulations go to Ashleigh and Josh.

At last, some sunshine! Four nice days in a row and suddenly it feels like summer. Shame we are past the longest day already.
We've had a lovely week with our old friend Ronnie coming to stay, and catching up again with Eli and Cooper.
Fingers crossed the good weather continues. Enjoy it while you can!

Another week of glorious summer weather (not!) has flown by and we were kept busy with Bella and Wilf who enjoyed walks together in the woods and on the beach. The three ferrets have kept us amused and we will be sorry to see them go home (but not miss the smell!)
The year is passing so quickly, with the longest day coming up this week - it's going to be a very short summer sadly. Oh well, we can't do anything about it so we just have to make the best of it. It is much easier when you have a lovely job like ours.

In the past week we were happy to have our old friends the ferrets, Spotty, Sandy and Girlie, come back for another holiday with us; they are such fun! Poppy went home after a lovely fortnight's stay and we had a couple of super walks with Wilf.

We are now looking forward to the arrival of Bella and to catch up with Eli and Cooper again. Another busy week awaits.

Finally, some sunshine! It had felt like autumn until Friday but then that long forgotten orange thing appeared in the sky and it has been a lovely weekend. Fingers crossed it stays nice for the next three months!

We've enjoyed a second week with Poppy and had a couple of very wet walks with Wilf. Whatever the weather we always have a lovely time and remember how lucky we are.

We are looking forward to sunnier walks this coming week.

In spite of the disappointing weather we've had a lovely week with our furry friends.
Poppy arrived for a three week stay, and although she is getting old and stiff (aren't we all!?) she has enjoyed walks at Sewerby, the lighthouse and Bridlington beach. She also loved meeting up with our friends who walk Lilith and Honey the two Labs and going to the café.
Ben and Pip came back for a quick sleepover and Wilf was his usual lively self on a couple of walks in the woods and on the beach.

We are still waiting for summer! Maybe next week?

Enjoy the Bank Holiday everyone.

It has been a quiet week, with just a couple of walks with Wilf and then a weekend visit from our old friend Nancy.

Nancy enjoyed a nice walk at Bempton RSPB, although it was so foggy you couldn't even see the bottom of the cliffs or the sea, let alone many birds! Then today we had a lovely walk through Dane's D**e to Sewerby to see the kite festival, but it was too windy for much kite flying! So unfortunately the weather scuppered two events this week - hopefully next week will be more settled.

We've had a lovely week with our resident guests Ben and Pip, and on walks with Wilf. It has also been nice to be able to ditch the coats and enjoy some sunshine at last.
Ben and Pip enjoyed walking into Brid to watch the cars and bikes taking part in Race the Waves on the south beach, with the obligatory trip into a café. Unfortunately though they were fast asleep when we were able to see the spectacular northern lights from our lounge window.

After enjoying a couple of dog-free days we were very pleased to have Ben and Pip arrive for a holiday. This gave us chance to get out the agility equipment, a present from Father Christmas, which has been waiting for some decent weather and the right dogs. They have had a lot of fun!
It was also a week with just one walk in drizzly weather - things are certainly looking brighter.
Just for something different, Pam has also been popping in to feed some fish this week, but unfortunately they were rather camera shy.

We've experienced all four seasons during this past week, mostly winter! It has been very cold and windy, but we've still managed to enjoy some lovely walks on the beaches and in the woods.
We were sorry to see Bella return home after a lovely two week stay, and look forward to Ben and Pip's arrival on Wednesday. Wilf has been his usual energetic self on our walks, and we also enjoyed a visit from young Ronnie.
Here's hoping it warms up a bit next week!

Well, last week's prediction that we were coming out of winter was premature! It has been another cold and windy week and the gloves, waterproofs and hats came back out. Surely we must get some warmer weather soon?!

But disappointing weather does not deter us and we've enjoyed time with Wilf, Bella, Eli and Cooper, and lovely walks on Filey and Bridlington beaches. Bella also enjoyed opening presents on her eighth birthday.

On Friday we were visited for our licensing inspection and we are pleased to report that we have been awarded the highest grade, 5 stars, by East Riding Council.

Here are a few snapshots of our activities from the last seven days.
