Good afternoon fellow dog lovers!
we thought this post from our local vets would be beneficial for new and old customers.
All dogs that are boarding with us HAVE to be fully vaccinated, this includes kennel cough (KC).
When booking your dog in we will ask you the dates of your dog’s vaccinations and microchip number and this will be put on the system for future reference.
We will also ask you to bring in your dogs vaccine booklet on arrival, if you do not have the booklet your vets can always email your dogs history to us.
Let’s all keep our doggies safe from this horrible infection. 🐶

We are currently seeing an increase in Canine Infectious Tracheobronchitis 🐶🦠
Canine Infectious Tracheobronchitis is most commonly known as Kennel Cough. This is a respiratory infection that can be caused by a few different bacteria and viruses.
These viruses and bacteria are airborne and highly infectious, and can be spread by being close to infected dogs, or by sharing items such as toys or bowls. Kennel Cough is very contagious, and can be easily picked up wherever an infected dog has been. This means the name ‘Kennel Cough’ can be misleading, it can spread rapidly in situations with lots of dogs like boarding kennels, but any dog in contact with an infected dog can contract the illness.
The main symptom of Kennel Cough is a hacking cough, which may sound like retching, or trying to clear something stuck in the throat. This cough can last for many weeks.
Kennel Cough may resolve on its own if your dog’s immune system is able to fight off the condition, but some dogs need prescription medication to help them recover. If your dog becomes unwell please seek veterinary advice.
You can reduce the chances of your dog contracting Kennel Cough by having your dog vaccinated. This vaccination is given by a sq**rt up the nose, rather than an injection. The vaccine doesn’t always completely prevent your dog picking up Kennel Cough as there are many different causes, but in most cases if your dog does pick up Kennel Cough even when vaccinated, the signs are usually much milder, and recovery time is shorter.
