Guess how many times Margaret in her 11 years has been made to vomit?
This is because she is a gutsy little madame!

Answer 3!

Christmas 2014 ate an entire Toblerone.

Summer 2020 raisins!!!!!

Autumn 2024 Possible Rat bait. Luckily she hadn't eaten any.

Each episode was very quickly rectified by an injection which made her vomit. She didn't require any further treatment.

Its that time of year again. 🎄
I know there will be plenty of chocolate🍫 in our house this Christmas.
As veterinarians have the ability to induce emesis (vomiting).
If your pet eats anything it should not have, we can make them sick by administering an injection.
We do however need to do this as soon as possible after the unwanted item has been ingested.

How to make an inexpensive 🐈‍⬛ hide away this party season.
For this I’ve used vet Oscar’s running shirt. Thankfully it’s before his run 🏃
This is so simple to make and with the use of some Pet Remedy spray will create a perfect place to hide.

🎇It's that time of year again!
We've already seen fireworks this weekend at West Bay which were spectacular, thank you.
Many pets are fearful of noise and without realising our human actions can increase our pets anxiety. Such as rushing to the windows when we hear the bang.
Please lets not forget our pets which reside outside, lets bring these guys inside perhaps into a shed or garage.
Our vets and nurses are on hand to help guide you through the next few months.
As we all know fireworks are not just for the 5th of November. 🎆

Today we said a fond farewell to the wonderful Lanie. She will be heading back to University next week where she will continue to work towards her veterinary nursing degree.

Lanie has completed over 2000 hours of unpaid work, gaining valuable practical skills and completing a comprehensive log of these skills.

We wish you all the best of luck Lanie and we will see you soon ❤️🐶

Yesterday we saw Margaret for her Dental surgery. 🦷

Her owner noticed that she was a little reluctant to eat her dental chews.

Her teeth were in good condition with minimal tartar build up.

Once anaesthetised Oscar could visualise the oral cavity and identified teeth which were causing Maggie issues. In total 7 teeth were removed.

Although on the surface these teeth looked pretty good its clear from the pictures of the teeth removed that the roots were affected.

Maggie received intravenous fluid therapy whilst under the anaesthetic along with having all of her vital signs carefully monitored by Lizzy our qualified veterinary nurse.

Maggie made a speedy recovery and was discharged later on in the afternoon. She has pain relief to continue at home and we will see her for a post op exam in clinic in the next few days.

If you have concerns about your pets teeth...why not make an appointment with the nurse to have them checked.

Yesterday we saw the lovely Luna for her laparoscopic spay. On admission her owner said she was shaking her head.
Whilst she was anaesthetised we removed a grass seen from deep inside her tiny ear canal.

Luna has been visiting us since she was a just a few weeks old and it’s been a joy to watch her grow and mature.

She’s just the cutest and most kind natured girl. ❤️
