It’s been a very tiring day at the Diana Brimblecombe Animal Rescue Centre doggie day. She got a super fast time in the scurry, had a go at some fly ball and managed to complete temptation alley. She’s now passed out in her new unicorn onsie

Dora had the best time with her bestie Nala last weekend… well, she enjoyed playing with Nala 😂 the swimming part maybe not so much 😬🥶

I think we’ve found our happy place 😌 so quiet and peaceful and able to get lost for hours
Hopefully Dippy is tired enough that she will sleep for days 😴😂
And the change in her over the last few months is amazing. She used to be a nightmare to walk, running and leaping all over, never listened to me, if we saw another dog she would launch and drag me to try and get to them (just wanted to say hello and play). But a few months ago we did the Pets Behaving Badly dog academy, trick training and loose lead walking courses and now she’s a different dog 🥰. Still a raving lunatic but in a much calmer, more controlled way. She listens to me, she has recall and she doesn’t yank my arms all the time. We start every walk with our focus exercises, and occasionally need a recap mid walk if her mind starts to wander. It’s been hard work but the results speak for themselves and she is turning into the best little puffball ever 💛

Took Dora swimming at aldershotlido today with her best friend Nala… they are not swimming dogs 😂 but she did have fun sniffing out the treats in the mat (only 10 seconds slower than the winning time) and being a pirate (even if she did fall overboard 😂)

Having a little play in the garden with the super pup… this was the run that I didn’t trip over the hole next to weaves but I was very tentative going past them 😂 I also made a mistake at the green jump after the second tunnel and went to do my front cross too early and confused Dora but otherwise she was awesome 🤩 just need to work on building (my) speed up… she did then run around with her ball for 5 mins with me trying to catch her to get it off her 😂

So I’m turning my 2 out this afternoon with the old girl… Sasha goes in a different field to my two but taking the three together saves two trips up to the fields. Get to my guys field and I let go of Sasha to eat some grass while I put my two out. Turn round and she’s legged it up the track 🙄 I follow her along the track thinking it would have been easier to do two trips when she stops at her gate and looks round at me like ‘slave… my gate is shut! Rectify this immediately!’ She may be a complete nightmare sometimes, but occasionally she does something good 😂

Just what we needed on a Saturday morning 🙄 Hamish decided that he no longer wants 4 functioning legs so after a vet visit and a lot of biting (of me not the vet) he is on box rest and meds… although if he tries to take my head off again while I cold hose his leg I’ll be having another conversation with the vet ☠️😂

I do also have a very sulky Dora with me because she had to miss her agility session because of this so is now very sad and stroppy

Perfecting the front crossovers today. It’s taken a long time to get the crazy one to slow down and focus so she can actually learn what to do… now we can start to build the speed back up again. And we’ve only been doing agility for 10 weeks so I think she’s doing pretty awesome 🥰

I think Dora is actually a ravenclaw not a hufflepuff 😂 she’s just too clever 🥰

A leg weave and walking backwards are still a work in progress… mainly because I struggle not to fall over her 😂😂 and stay provides a challenge for her adhd brain 🤪

Limbo is still a challenge for her… she doesn’t get why I’m asking her to go under the pole when she’s a jumping superstar 🤷‍♀️😂 but she loves her training sessions and yesterday even stole my clicker when I’d had enough and we ended up doing almost an hour of training instead of our usual 20 minute evening session before bed. Honestly I can’t keep up with her brain 🧠 she’s just too smart

Had a birthday party for Sasha today… she had a pamper spa session (clipped and bathed) and got to enjoy some birthday presents. At 35 I think she deserves to be spoilt.
And thanks to Allen & Page Horse Feeds and Omega Equine supplements (and treats) she’s looking and feeling great… so great we may even try a bit of showing again 😳😂
She got a Horslyx lick, a bag of Omega Equine coconut treats and a bag of Likit Products rainbow snacks

I think we timed yesterday’s walk quite badly 😳😂 we’re all a bit soggy and the rain betrayed Dora - the poodle curls are back 😫 hair cut is needed to hide the curls again 😂😂

Went on a lovely long walk yesterday exploring the woods… and yes we fully intended on going out for over an hour, we did NOT get lost in the woods 😳😂
Dora was so good although she was exhausted by the time we got back. She was really listening though - a first in the woods because she’s not usually keen, but the training and focus exercises that we’ve learnt at training with Pets Behaving Badly are really paying off

At 2am 6 years ago, my little baby boy was born. He was Born 90% legs and 1 brain cell and is still 90% leg and still only has 1 brain cell 😂
He is one giant lovable oaf though and looking forward to his future as a superstar dressage diva (we may try leaving the floor if I get brave 😂)

Adding a commando crawl to our skill list. I’m going to have to write a list soon of all the tricks she can do… especially as most of them have Harry Potter terms for their cue words 😂
