Yesterday we had a very special birthday girl spend the day with us! 🩷🎂

Being at the vets might not be the best way to spend your birthday but Daisy made the most of it, soaking up all the snuggles, having a little party and munching up some yummy treats with her favourite nurses and receptionists 🥳

She is a regular face at our Brigg surgery, her little face lights up the waiting room as soon as she walks in, greeting everyone alongside her lovely family, who spoil her with love and care 🩷

Please join us in wishing Daisy a happy 10th birthday! 🎂🥳

🐰 Rabbit Awareness Week 🐰

Rabbits need annual vaccinations, just like cats and dogs.

Vaccinations protect against Myxomatosis and Viral Haemorrhagic Disease (VHD), both of which can be fatal.

It is recommended to neuter all rabbits. Male-female pairs require neutering to prevent breeding, but same-sex pairs can fight if not neutered.

Female rabbits also have an 80% chance of developing cancer of the uterus during their lifetime, which is eliminated by neutering.

🐰Rabbit awareness week 🐰

Providing the correct nutrition for your rabbit can prevent a lot of common health problems.

A rabbit’s diet should be predominantly fibre, as they need to chew almost continuously – their teeth grow throughout their lives and chewing helps prevent them overgrowing 🦷

Did you know that a microchip is only as useful as the details linked to it?

If your pet’s contact information isn’t up to date, it can make reuniting you even harder if they ever go missing.

As temperatures rise, take extra care with short-snouted pets ☀️

Brachycephalic breeds like pugs, bulldogs and French bulldogs face a significantly increased risk of heatstroke compared to long-snouted dogs.

Because of their conformation, flat-faced breeds are less efficient at cooling themselves through panting, meaning they can overheat quickly even on mild days.

Vaccination appointments also always include a full clinical examination, so are a great opportunity to make sure your pet is in the best health possible.

Join our vaccine catch-up campaign and give your furry friend the care they need.

⭐️Pay for the first overdue vaccine, and we’ll cover the second, ensuring their safety at an affordable price ⭐️

Behind every surgical procedure is a skilled veterinary nurse 🩺

It’s often a nurse that will admit your pet to the practice, and also discharge them safely home to you at the end of the day.

From preparing patients and surgical equipment, closely monitoring anaesthesia and vital signs throughout an operation, to ensuring a safe and smooth recovery - nurses are an essential part of every surgical procedure we undertake.
