On Sunday 26th October, the clocks go back one hour as British Summer Time ends ⏰

While this gives us an extra hour in bed, it can disrupt our pets’ routines, especially feeding and walking schedules.

Animals thrive on consistency, so sudden changes can cause confusion or anxiety. To help ease the transition, consider gradually adjusting your pet’s routine over a few days leading up to the change. A little preparation can make a big difference in keeping your furry friends happy and settled.

Have you noticed your pet reacting to the time change before? Share your stories or tips below - we’d love to hear them! 🐶🐱🕒

🐾 4 in 5 dogs over the age of 8 are living with chronic joint pain.

Spotting arthritis isn’t always easy. Dogs are good at hiding discomfort, and signs like lameness or stiffness can be subtle - especially when more than one leg is affected.

Early detection makes a big difference. With the right treatment, we can slow the progression of arthritis and help your dog stay active and comfortable for longer.

🐈Maybe a stray turns up and never leaves.
🐾Maybe a friend asks you to “temporarily” look after theirs.
🐱Or maybe a kitten appears just when you weren’t looking.

It’s all part of what the internet calls the cat distribution system - a tongue-in-cheek way of describing how cats seem to end up exactly where they’re meant to be.

Thinking of getting a cat? Read more about the options for responsibly choosing (or being chosen by) a cat:

October is Black Cat Awareness Month - a time to celebrate these sleek, mysterious, and often misunderstood felines 🐈‍⬛🖤

Despite their charm and beauty, black cats are sadly less likely to be adopted due to outdated myths and superstitions.

This month is all about changing perceptions and showing the world just how wonderful black cats truly are.

📸 Got a black cat with attitude, elegance, or a touch of mischief? Share their photo using and help us shine a light on these magical moggies!
