This morning was an early start for Freya as she managed to join a shared transport run to Glasgow. She was accepted into her rescue place at lunchtime and her new beginnings start now 🥰 The shared run was £180 and we are overwhelmed to say £170 of that was covered by the kind monetary donations from Joanne, Louise, Lisa, Roberta, Helen and Christine!!!! Thank you SO much 🤩 Thank you also for all the generous things that have come through from our Amazon wishlist, they really will make a difference to the strays whilst they are in our care. Thank you also for the bits and bobs that have been dropped off in person at the gate. We appreciate you all. Any further monetary donations that have come in following Freya’s run will go towards helping the next dog out. We have included photos for transparency to show that the money received has gone directly to the transporter who works tirelessly to get dogs to safety across the country. Thank you everyone 🤩🤩🤩

** Thank you Caroline for adding the final £10 to the pot - Freya’s transport has been fully covered 🙏🙏🙏

As we approach Christmas we are always inundated with tubs of chocolates and biscuits which is lovely and we are always grateful when gratitude is shown. However this year we would like to ask if you would consider contributing to our rising transport costs to help get our strays to safety or a donation from our Amazon wishlist instead. Freya was found running terrified on a busy road. Her microchip wasn’t up to date and she is chipped to her breeder. Although he says he’s one of the best Gsd breeders around there was no support offered from him at all. At 2 years old it was very clear she had been purposely abandoned and that she was also a genuine stray dog! We have asked for help from GSD rescue and their list is currently standing at 155 dogs - this is just a snapshot of how the rescue world is struggling right now. We don’t stop until a space is found - this time this happens to be in Glasgow and we have to find £230 to get her there. If people could contribute just a small amount towards this we would be incredibly grateful . Please consider that these are the transport fees for just one dog. Our PayPal is [email protected] and our wishlist is here

Thank you so much for taking the time to read this. Please no comments on rehoming - we have already explained numerous times why we don’t rehome stray dogs direct to members of the public

Good bye and good luck to the strays who have served their statutory 7 days (plus a few extras) and been lucky enough to secure rescue spaces. They all enjoyed a bath before they went. Just look at the difference a flea spot on, worming and decent food can do! And the Broughton GSD who was running scared through the town left a much happier girl. Their transport out cost £250 - if anyone would like to contribute towards this our paypal is [email protected]
Alternatively your contributions from our Amazon wishlist are just as helpful. Thank you for your support

We have had three gifts from our Amazon wish list so far and would like to say a very big thank you - this chew toy was gratefully received by a youngster who was dumped at under a year old in the most appalling condition. He was understandably very worried initially and alive with fleas with hair loss. He has been flea treated and is much happier. Thank you for your support 💙

Cara’s story 🎀
Photo 1 - Cara was found tied to some railings in Grimsby after being rehomed to someone unsuitable on Facebook. Her microchip wasn’t up to date. A Former keeper came forward and promised they would come for her. She was let down.

Photo 2 - A photo shoot takes place and she is shared with our trusted rescues. We flea and worm treat here even if not showing signs as we don’t know history. This is funded by us. Any donations towards flea and worm is welcome.

Photo 3 - Basic testing is carried out to give the rescues an outline on what we know about the dog. As a stray we have no history and don’t know what they like / dislike. Thankfully Cara liked the resident dog and this made her more appealing to rescues.

Photo 4 - harness fitting day. We fit harnesses and collars on the dogs for safety when walking and these get sent with them on the transport run - they are not returned so any donations of old, useable (or new!) collars and harnesses are always gratefully received.

Photo 5 - After numerous emails, handover form prepared, transport organised Cara is on her way to her new life. Her transport cost £170. This is funded by us - not the council. Cara is just one of many and we have to grab the decent spaces where they arise. If this means spending more on transport it has to be done. Sometimes we luckily get a shared run, this time Cara was travelling solo!

For every dog that comes into our care we are funded for the 1st 8 days only by the council. Cara was here 3 weeks. This means that the majority of funding to get Cara safe comes from us and we aren’t charity based - we just want to get the dogs to safety, to be rehomed responsibly with rescue support for life should anything go wrong. These dogs have already been failed and we are just a step on the ladder to a better life. Any help you can give us would be really appreciated - whether it be something off the wishlist, a donation to our transport fund (PayPal [email protected]) or simply just a share to raise awareness. We aren’t your average stray kennels - they receive the very best care and the dog’s needs are always a priority. If any of our rescues are reading this - thank you as always for everything you do to get our strays their happy ever after.

These two puppies were abandoned in the middle of a field in the wolds. Left to fend for themselves - cold, underweight, scared and riddled with worms. Luckily some spaniels on a dog walk sniffed them out and their owner got them to safety quickly and called the dog warden. They stayed their statutory 7 days and have now moved onto to foster rescue homes where they are thriving. They are NOT for rehoming. We are sharing to highlight the throwaway society we are living in. Dogs are increasingly being referred to as ‘it’, dogs are being thrown out with the most ridiculous excuses and then not claimed because they just aren’t wanted anymore. Dog owners think they can make a quick buck by breeding their ‘pets’ but then aren’t rehoming responsibly or putting in the care and effort required to uphold a litter. The stray system is fast becoming saturated. Rescue spaces are very few because the number of potential adopters has dropped drastically. If the person who left these puppies is reading this - they are safe and have a much brighter future ahead of them - they could be dead and we only hope you are taking better care of the mother and any others involved 😓 We appreciate that sometimes dogs genuinely escape and are grateful for responsible owners who come and reclaim but lately this is a rarity! We will share our Amazon wish list again for anyone wanting to support our strays for the time they spend with us waiting for rescue spaces to come up. Our flea and worm stock is getting low.

Alternatively if you would like to donate to our transport fund our PayPal is [email protected] - very few rescues collect from us - the rest we have to fund with runs starting at £90 per trip. Thank you as ever for your support and understanding with getting these strays to safety to be responsibly rehomed

Some reminders:
As we enter our busiest time could we please ask that customers check their bookings. This is best done over email or Facebook message if possible so that we can concentrate on looking after the dogs and answer when we are free. This also gives written confirmation. Please remember we don’t have a receptionist therefore in our busiest periods we may ask if we can call you back later on.

If you are a new customer your booking won’t be confirmed if we haven’t received a deposit.

We now have no availability for weekends until the end of September and our waiting list is for existing customers only.

Also a polite reminder for Sundays and Bank holidays- our hours are 1pm - 4pm. Please do not turn up in the morning unarranged as there will not be a kennel ready during peak season. Every other day is 9am - 5pm and we advise where possible to drop off or collect before 3pm.

Finally please remember to check your dog’s vaccinations are up to date - we unfortunately don’t have time to send out vaccination reminders however we do need to see proof of in date vaccinations before your dog can stay,

Many thanks for your consideration and continued custom 😊
