Food and mealtimes are an important part of a puppy's daily routine. Have you decided if your pup will be fed on raw meat, kibbles, a mix of dry and wet food? Puppies like to work for their food and part of their daily food intake can be utilised during training. It is suggested pups are fed four meals a day up until the age of three months, after twelve weeks, feed three meals a day. At six months, your puppy is usually ready for two meals a day. If you have any questions around your puppy's diet, speak with your pups vet.

Hi all, the warmer weather is due and applying the 5-7 second rule will help before taking your dog for a walk. The rule is, touch the pavement for five seconds, and if it is too hot for your hand, it will be too hot for your pooches paws.

Dogs still need exercise and walking them in shaded areas will reduce the impact of the sunshine. Have access to water, recognise behaviours such as excessive drooling, heavy panting, drowsiness, uncoordinated movements, collapsing and vomiting.

Groomers - visit your local groomers and your dog will appreciate a thinner coat in hotter weather

Treats - Freeze a Kong toy with water and treats to nibble

Towel - Leave a damp towel for your dog to lie on. Placing a towel over a dog will trap heat

Toys - Paddling pool, hose,

If in doubt - don't go out.

Flystrike - flies lay their eggs on the animal which feed from their host. check your animal in warmer weather, especially around the rear end of the body.
