An assumption is a belief or statement accepted as true without proof or evidence. It's an idea that is taken for granted and presumed to be correct based on perceived common sense, past experiences, or general consensus, even though it may not have been verified or tested. Assumptions can influence understanding and decision-making processes in various contexts.

Let's make educated assessments as dog professionals, not assumptions.

When we live with dogs, sometimes we can find the things they do problematic. The term 'behaviour problem' is commonly used, but the truth is that most of the dog behaviours we see are normal and natural dog behaviours. They are not really a problem as far as the dog is concerned, but they are somet...

I want dogs to be exceptionally happy.

Dogs are only with us for such a short time. Why wouldn't we want them to be showered with as much love, snacks and sharing your love and life with them as possible?

Let go of unreasonable expectations that society tells us we need to put on our dogs. Stop making them perform for every little morsel or every pet or sign of affection. Stop the militaristic heeling walks. Stop punishing them for being social and wanting to greet humans or other dogs. Let your dog be a dog.

And, go ahead. Spoil your dog.

Oh and sign of course 😆

Something that is very important to me is the correct treatment of dogs.
Any dog (of any breed!) in the wrong hands can be very dangerous.

When I say wrong hands, this also includes ill informed or uneducated owners. It’s worrying to see so many people that still use outdated and disproved methods.

These often abusive methods have caused a lot of fear based training which can lead to, what can come across as, unpredictable behaviour. The rise in dog attacks won’t stop until owners learn how to care for their dog correctly. Some owners aren’t even aware of the damage they are causing.

Please sign my petition to make it a legal requirement to have a license and competence assessment carried out in order to own a dog.

Thank you 🙏 🐶 🐾

Our Story

Hello!

My name is Georgie and some of you may already know me as the crazy dog lady who is often running around the fields of Brightlingsea with multiple dogs or walking round the streets of the town. I’ll use this section to tell you a bit about myself. I have always been in love with dogs; working and studying them my whole life. I got my first Saturday job at 10 years old working in a groomers. I left school and went into College to obtain my diploma in animal care and a few years later I worked at the RSPCA in Wethersfield. I have also managed a kennels where I lived on site and now run my own dog care business. I recently attended the wolf and dog behaviour course which was taught to me by Shaun (‘the wolf man’) Ellis which has opened my eyes and given me more knowledge than I could have ever imagined. Mainly I learned how unfortunately a lot of the old school approach towards dog training and owning can sometimes damage our dogs and stop them from being stable and happy. Dogs require nurture and love as well as boundaries of course but not to be confused with obsessing over us being the top dog or boss in the household but allowing the dog to be it’s true self and for us to be the character it requires us to be. Since I haven’t yet obtained my instructors course in this field I am unable to go into too much detail so I will keep this light and informative without going in too heavy when it comes to dog training. I suppose the best tip I can give is that if it feels wrong, then it most probably is. Anger and stress should never come into training and if it is then a different tactic should be used. Calmness is always key. If you’re having issues with your dog then try not to get frustrated as you won’t see changes overnight. Take your time and take baby steps towards any desired goal for your beloved dog. The most important thing is that you first help your dog to learn that it can trust you and never needs to be afraid of you.

I offer 1:1 training sessions/consultations but I would say that they are more about providing information to the owner on how to enrich your dogs life, help them overcome anxieties or previous traumas they may have gone through and how to encourage a happy and healthy relationship that you both benefit from. There are always opportunities to meet for socialising and further advice and guidance after these.

I also offer regular dogs walks, home visits and offer a home dog boarding service as well as daycare.
