Clays groom💙

This very lovely, happy, busy ball of fun is Clay the Shihtzu. He is a whole lot of chaos😂. He came in yesterday for his full groom. He loves to wander around on the table, and I just work around him😊. He’s super happy all the time! I started with a brush through, pre clipping his coat and then into the bath. Shampoo massage followed by a good rinse off. Under the drier, and nails trimmed whilst he’s drying. Reclip over and lots of brushing. Face trimmed and he’s already to go home. Great grooming at home by .mysterio 😊. No grooming allowed by 😂. # groomerlife

Buddie's groom❤️

Buddie came in for a full groom yesterday, bought in by his lovely mum, Kellie. It was their first visit to me, and it was lovely to meet them both.
Buddie's is a Maltses x Bichon and his coat is lovely and soft🥰, he has also been groomed regularly.
Buddy was brushed through, bathed with oatmeal & honey shampoo, dried, clipped and scissor finished to shape. Ears cleaned and nails clipped, this is not his favourite part of the groom🤣🥰. He was so good and is a very happy little chap. Well done Buddie❤️.

The importance of grooming your dog!.

The above pictures are from clients dogs, and have all been groomed by myself.

Recently. I am seeing an increase in matted dogs due to lack of proper grooming. The wet weather is affecting coats conditions even more. So, it is incredibly important that you regularly brush your dog daily.

Harnesses, collars and coats will also impact on the dogs coat condition.

Any area on a dogs coat that rubs is at risk of matting. Get into a routine of regularly brushing your dog to prevent this. Not only does brushing improve coat condition, it improves blood circulation to the skin, removes debris and helps reduce skin hotspots. It also makes the dog feel nice!

Pay attention to ears (especially under and behind them), under armpits and thighs. Groin area and tails too.

Using a Slicker brush, and metal comb can reduce the chances of matting drastically. Work on small areas of the coat at a time, different areas daily. Breaking down the groom so your its so challenging and letting you cover all of the dogs coat weekly.

A matting fee will he charged for dogs attending grooms matted. This covers the cost of wear and tear to my equipment. £10 to £20 on top of the original groom fee.

The Animal Welfare Act 2006 states that it is illegal to cause unnecessary suffering to an animal, including prolonged de-matting. This means that if a dog's coat is too matted to be brushed out without causing pain, it must be clipped short.

I just wanted to take a moment to share my appreciation for everyone's generosity and kindness. Honestly, i'm blown away with your lovely words, cards and thoughtful gifts, it really means alot to me❤️. Thank you, so very much. More importantly, THANK YOU for choosing me to care for your fur babies, this is a gift in itself🐾. I value each and everyone of you and adore all your furry friends, (even if the feeling isn't always mutual🤣).

I will be closed this afternoon, and will return to work on Tuesday 3rd Jan. Messages for appointments sent to me from 24th Dec will be responded to on Friday 27th December. I will not be responding to bookings over the festive period as I will be spending the break with Family.
