Buddys groom💙

Buddy arrived for his groom this morning, saw me and promptly tried to leave🤣.

His lovely mum, Leah convinced him that I'm not that horrible, and Buddy then decided to give me a chance🥰.

With the cooler weather, Leah wanted Buddys hair left longer, so I adjusted his groom today for him. I started by brushing him through, and then it was straight into the bath. A nice warm shampoo massage to clean down to the skin and then rinse off to finish. Snood still on whilst I used the blaster to remove the excess water from his coat before bringing Buddy back to the table. Another brush through whilst I changed to the finishing dryer. All dried off, and now to reduce his coat length slightly. Buddy was clipped longer in the body but shorter on the legs and face. This makes his face and legs/feet easier to clean. Ears cleaned, nails trimmed and face scissored to shape. Well done Buddy! Such a good boy!

❗ RAWHIDE ❗

POSSIBLY THE MOST DANGEROUS DOG TREAT ON THE PLANET!

The chews are made from cattle or horse hides and their journey starts with the hides being soaked in a toxic sodium sulphide to remove the hair and fat. More chemicals are used in order to split the hide into layers which is then washed with hydrogen peroxide to give the white “pure” look and remove the rancid smell. Now comes the pretty festive colours and the glue to form cute shapes.

On testing, these chews have shown traces of arsenic, mercury, chromium and formaldehyde.

If that wasn`t bad enough they regularly cause intestinal blockages, poisoning from chemical residue and choking. The chews go slippery when wet and are near impossible to get hold of to save a choking dog.

Leave them in the shop or if some well meaning person buys them for your dog put them safely away and then dispose in the bin!

Kovu's groom🐶❤️.

This beautiful beast is called Kovu. He is a flat coated retreiver. He came in recently for a full groom, bought in by his lovely dad, Matt, and Kovu's  human Baby brother, Eden😍. 
I started by gently brushing Kovu through to check for matts and to loosen up his coat. Next, i used the coat king brush to remove the dead hair trapped in his coat. As you can see from the pictures, I removed alot of coat!🫣  i only needed to trim Kovu's dew claws as his nails are already short. Ears checked and cleaned. Into the bath, snood on for a quick pic. Kovu is very good in the bath, and extremely helpful too. He lifts his feet when i need to wash them and turns around so i can clean him thoroughly. A nice shampoo massage, and then a thorough rinse off next to remove the shampoo residue, followed by a gentle towel dry. I used the blaster to remove any excess water trapped in his coat. His coat dries quite quickly but there's alot of coat to dry. I changed to the finishing dryer to work on certain areas of coat whilst brushing to prevent matting. A minimal tidy up and trim to neaten his coat and he's all done. Well done Kovu!.

Hugo's groom🐶❤️.

This cute little 5 month old puppy is called Hugo.  He is a Yorkie Bichon x breed. He came in yesterday for a full puppy groom, bought in by his lovely dad, Harry. Harry stayed during the groom, which is nice as it gives me a chance to show Harry what Hugo's groom is like and also allows Harry to ask any questions he may have.
I started by gently brushing Hugo through and giving him time to get used to me. I then trimmed some of his nails. When i got to Hugo's last foot he was getting fidgety, so i gave him a break from nail trimming, as i could come back to it later. Into the bath, snood on for a quick pic. Hugo was good in the bath, a little worried but he was very brave. A nice shampoo massage. A thorough rinse off next to remove the shampoo residue, followed by a gentle towel dry. Hugo was a bit worried at first by the dryer.I used treats as positive reinforcement and praised him during the drying process. The finishing dryer is quieter and gentle, but still scary when your first introduced to it. Last few nails trimmed also. I attempted to trim Hugo's face but he was too busy. He's a puppy so there's so much stuff to look at!🤣.
Rather than force Hugo to stay still whilst i try to trim it (which can be dangerous as I'm using scissors), I've recommended Harry come back with Hugo on another day, just for his fringe trim. Well done Hugo!.

Rocco's groom💙

Rocco came in today for his routine groom. He was such a good boy! I'm sure you'll agree he looks very handsome. Well done to his mum, Rebecca for brushing and keeping his coat in such amazing condition.

Samsons BIrthday groom🥳

Happy 1st birthday Samson!💙🐶🥳

Samson tye Newfoudland came in with his lovely mum, Sandra. He was far too busy for pre groom pics🤣I started with a good brush through, followed by foot fluff removal and nail trim. Into the bath for the first of 2 washes. Samson has a very thick coat that can repel the water, so getting to the skin is so important. A good shampoo massage followed by a rinse, then repeated again to make sure his coat is clean, and then rinsed through thoroughly. A good towel dry to help remove the excess water. Blaster and finishing dryer used whilst brushing him to prevent matts whilst drying him off. Slight trimming to neaten him up and nearly all done. Samson loves to chew my hair and give me a wash throughout his groom. What a treat for me!🤣
But he did pose beautifully for his after groom pics. What a handsome birthday boy!💙🥳

Charlie's groom🐶❤️.

This handsome 16 week old handsome chap is called Charlie, hes a Golden Retriever. He came in yesterday for a full puppy groom, bought in by his lovely mum, Nathalie.
Starting by trimming his nails, foot fluff underneath trimmed, then checking and cleaning his ears. Into the bath, snood on for a quick pic. Charlie was good in the bath and had a nice shampoo massage. A thorough rinse off next to remove the shampoo residue, followed by a gentle towel dry. Charlie was a bit worried at first by the dryer. Not his favourite thing, but he did very well. I used the finishing dryer on his face, which is quieter and gentle. Well done Charlie!.

Ruby's groom🐶❤️.

This beautiful 5 month old Rottweiler is called Ruby. She came in today for a full puppy groom, bought in by her lovely pawrents.
Starting with a nice brush through, to remove any loose hair and debris. Nails trimmed and smoothed. Into the bath, snood on for a quick pic. Ruby is so good in the bath and seems to enjoy a nice shampoo massage . A thorough rinse off next to remove the shampoo residue, followed by a gentle towel dry. Snood on still, as Ruby isn't to keen on the blaster dryer at first. Ears checked and cleaned. Foot fluff underneath removed. Well done Ruby!. girl

Rufus's groom🐶❤️.

This handsome chap is Rufus the Sprocker.  He  recently came in for a full groom, bought in by his lovely mum, Sarah.
Starting with a nice brush through, to remove any loose hair and debris. Nails trimmed and smoothed. Into the bath, snood on for a quick pic. Rufus is so good in the bath and seems to enjoy a nice shampoo massage . A thorough rinse off next to remove the shampoo residue, followed by a gentle towel dry. Snood on still, as Rufus isnt to keen on the blaster dryer near his ears. Body abd legs all dried off and the finisher drier used on his head and ears. This is quieter and less powerful to use, so nicer to use on the head area. Ears checked and cleaned. Foot fluff underneath and between toes removed. Well done Rufus!.

A Golden Day💛💛

These two handsome chaps are Hopper and Maui. They are both Goden Retrievers. Here's a little write up on their breed.

Probably one of the most recognisable and best loved dogs, the Golden Retriever is outgoing, playful, and probably the perfect pet for just anyone. Their tolerant attitude and the fact that they’re intelligent and easy to train makes them excellent family dogs for either experienced or inexperienced owners.

You won’t be able to count on a Golden Retriever to be a guard dog though, as they will try to befriend anyone who gets close to them. Plus, they love being the center of attention so they will thrive with a loving owner who can give them all the care and affection they need.

A really smart, loving, funny and intelligent breed. I love grooming them! They're a gentle giant with a big heart, who loves a cuddle.

Barney & Mabels Grooms🐶💙🐶❤️

Barney is a 17 year old, very sweet Yorkshire Terrier who recently came in with his younger sister, Mabel. Mabel is a 3 year old long haired German Shepherd. They're lovely mum, Tash bought them all the way from Eastbourne. Its the first time they've come over together in the car and they were so well behaved. Well done Barney & Mabel❤️❤️.
I started Barneys groom with a gentle brush through, and deshed. He has alot of hair for someone so small! Into the bath, snood on and a good shampoo massage to remove any dirt, debris and loose hair left in his coat. A thorough rinse off and onto the table for a towel dry.  Drier on, to finish the process, then a clip off to remove the excess coat. Scissor trim to even out feet, tail, ears, and face. Nails trimmed and ears cleaned. All done! Now for Mabels groom. A good brush through, and then into the bath. Snood on, and bath pic taken. A nice warm gentle shampoo massage getting right down to the skin. A good rinse off, towel dry, and it's back to the table to get fully dried off. A good dry over whilst brusing to keep her coat tangle free. I scissor trimmed her feet to neaten. Ears cleaned, and its time to go home. Such a cute duo❤️💙!
