Charlie's Groom🐶❤️

Charlie is a gorgeous Cocker Spaniel who recently came in for a full groom. His lovely dad, Jordan bought him in for his first ever groom. After discussing some clipping options for Charlie's groom, I was ready to start.
I started with a gentle brush through to ease him into the groom, Also, allowing Charlie time to get used to me and the environment. Using the clippers on the lowest setting, i clipped off Charlies coat, leaving his head, ears and tail untouched.  His nails were checked, and those that needed trimming were trimmed, i also removed the foot fluff from between his toes and under his pads. Checking for grass seeds and burs as I'm doing this.  Into the bath, snood on, and bath pic taken. Charlie was so good in the bath. A nice warm gentle shampoo massage getting right down to the skin. A good rinse off, towel dry, and it's back to the table to get fully dried off. I reclipped his coat to get an even, smooth finish. Next i scissor trimmed his feet, tail and ears to shape. Ears cleaned, and its time to go home. Well done Charlie!🐶❤️

Bear's groom🐶❤️.

This beautiful girl is Bear.the Rottweiler. She has lived most of her life outdoors, until she was rescued by a lovely couple, John & Sara. She recently came in for a full  groom, and deshed. John and I discussed Bears medical history and groom routine before I started.
Starting with a nice brush through, to remove any loose hair, but also to remove any grass seeds or debris that maybe in her coat. Next i used a coat king. This is designed to remove the loose undercoat, leaving her coat looking glossy and smooth. Into the bath, snood on and quick pic taken. Bear seemed to enjoy the bath and a nice shampoo massage . A thorough rinse off next to remove the shampoo residue, followed by a gentle towel dry. She loved the towel dry! Snood on still, dryer on, lots of cuddles and encouragement to let her know everything was ok. Bear appeared relaxed and content. Such a good girl! Another brush through with the coat king and she looks amazing! Nails trimmed, ears checked and cleaned. Foot fluff underneath removed, to help keep her cool Well done Bear!.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION POST.

I've been thinking about posting these pics & videos for a while. Not too upset or shame anyone, but I feel it's important for people to know what a matted dog groom looks like. It's uncomfortable & upsetting for the dog  and myself, as the dog groomer.
Keeping their coats matt free can be a chore, but is vital.for their health and comfort. Its especially important after a trip to the beach or playing in the pool in the garden.

Matted fur does not allow for air circulation to the skin, causing hot spots, bacterial and fungal infections. Fleas, ticks, maggots and other parasites may be lurking in the coat causing further skin infections. Matted fur also pulls and binds, causing pain to your pet when they move or lay down.

With nowhere to go, the fur creates clumps that get closer and closer to the skin and eventually, lead to severe skin pain and sores. In addition to the skin issues, matting can also cause your pet to be unable to regulate its temperature and create a perfect breeding ground for fleas or ticks.

If the matting is somewhat loose and not close to the skin, it may be possible to brush through and remove some areas. This process is usually painful and stressful for most dogs. The kindest way to remove matting is the dreaded shave down, whether the matting is sparse or covers the dog.

Please remember to brush your dog regularly to avoid these issues. Your pet will be more comfortable and happier.

Ziggy's groom🐶❤️.

This handsome little chap is Ziggy a 4 month old  Cocker Spaniel. He recently came in for his first puppy groom, bought in by his lovely mum, Zoe.. Ziggy is a typical Cocker spaniel puppy who is very busy and finds everything exciting! Puppy grooms are an introduction to the grooming  process, noises, smells and the groom room environment, and me!

Ziggy cried a little at first when he got wet in the bath, but settled down quickly and seemed to enjoy the nice shampoo massage. Snood on still, dryer on, lots of cuddles and encouragement to let him know everything was ok. The drier can seem scary, so i gently brushed him to distract him, and to get him fully dry. Nails trimmed, ears checked and cleaned. Foot fluff underneath removed, and feet shaped. Well done Ziggy!. Such a handsome boy!

Oakley's groom🐶❤️.

This gorgeous little fella is Oakley a 16 week old Cocker Spaniel. He recently came in for his first puppy groom, bought in by his lovely dad, Matt. Oakley is a typical busy puppy who wants to explore everything! Puppy grooms are an introduction to the grooming process, noises, smells and the groom room environment, and me!
Starting with a nice brush through, to remove any loose hair, but also remove any matts or twists that may have appeared in his coat. Into the bath, snood on and quick pic taken. Oakley cried a little in the bath when he was made wet but settled during the nice shampoo massage. A thorough rinse off to remove the shampoo residue, followed by a gentle towel dry. He really enjoyed the towel dry! Snood on, then dryer on, lots of cuddles and encouragement to let him know everything was ok. The drier can seem scary, so i gently brushed him to distract him, and to get him fully dry. Nails trimmed, ears checked and cleaned. Foot fluff underneath removed, and feet shaped. Face shaped and ears trimmed. Well done Oakley!. Such a handsome boy!

Snoopy's groom🐶❤️.

This little chap is Snoopy. He's a Maltese x Bichon who will be 13 this year. He recently came in for a full groom with his lovely mum Chloe. Chloe told me that Snoopy is quite a chilled character, and he totally is!. He's been groomed before and was very relaxed during the whole process.
Starting with a nice brush through, to remove any shedding hair but also remove any matts or twists in his coat. Into the bath, snood on and quick pic taken. A nice shampoo massage to remove, dirt, debris and loosen any coat. A thorough rinse off, followed by a gentle towel dry. Dryer on, whilst gently brushing him to get him fully dry, stop his coat from matting and fluff his coat up. Nails trimmed, ears checked and cleaned. Foot fluff underneath removed, and feet shaped. Face shaped and ears trimmed. Well done Snoopy!. Such a handsome boy!

Willow's Groom🐶❤️

Willow is a gorgeous Cocker Spaniel puppy who recently came in. Her lovely mum, Kelly bought her in for her first puppy groom. Willow has been brushed & bathed at home, which is brilliant😍.
I started with a gentle brush through to ease her into the groom, Also, allowing Willow time to get used to me and the environment. Her nails were checked and trimmed, and her fluffy feet also checked. Into the bath, snood on, and bath pic taken. Willow was so good in the bath. She wasn't worried about this at all. A nice warm gentle shampoo massage getting right down to the skin. A good rinse off, towel dry, and it's back to the table to get fully dried off. Scissor trimmed to shape on her feet and ears. Then a nice brush through again. Ears cleaned, and its time to go home. Well done Willow!🐶❤️

Peanuts groom🐶❤️.

Peanut is an 18 weeks old Bolonoodle, who recently came in for his first puppy groom . His lovely dad, Craig bought him in. Peanut was a little shy at first, so it was important not to rush him and scare him.
Starting with a nice brush through, to allow Peanut time to get used to me and the new environment of the groom room. Into the bath, snood on and quick pic taken. Peanut cried a little when his dad left and also when he got wet in the bath. Lots of reassurance and praise helped to make him feel more comfortable and relax. A nice shampoo massage to remove, dirt, debris and loosen any coat. A thorough rinse off, followed by a gentle towel dry. Dryer on, whilst gently brushing him to get him fully dry and to stop his coat from matting.. Nails trimmed, ears checked and cleaned. Foot fluff underneath removed. Peanut was very good throughout the groom, even though he was slightly nervous. Well done Peanut! . Such a sweet boy. #3/4poodlegroom

Banjo's groom🐶❤️

This gorgeous boy is Banjo, a 14 year old Border terrier. His lovely dad, Daz bought him in for a full groom. Banjo has been groomed before. Daz went through his previous grooms and how he'd like him too look, but also what he would like left alone. This is just as important for me to know, to tailor the groom for the owner, and Banjo. Starting with a nice gentle brush through, and then a preclip to remove the excess hair. Nails trimmed and into the bath. Snood on a quick pic taken! A lovely shampoo massage in the warn water, and thorough rinse off to remove loose hair, debris and shampoo residue. A gentle towel dry and back to the table to finish drying off under a warm dryer. I gently brushed through Banjo's hair to help it dry and lift his coat. All dried off and a reclip to even out the coat. Ears, legs and face trimmed and neatened. Recheck his nails and smooth them off. Feet trimmed and shaped. Ears cleaned and Banjo is all ready to go home. Well done Banjo!❤️. Pickle's groom🐶❤️.

Pickles is a 10.5 year old Brittany spaniel who recently came in for a full groom . His lovely mum Melanie bought him in. Pickles is slightly nervous breed, but Melanie described his nervousness and things he wasn't sure about, like his tail being touched sometimes, (he just wants to sit down if your trimmimg around it).He is a very healthy 10.5 year old! He has been groomed before and is used to the process. With all my grooms on older dogs, I allow them to lead the groom. If they want to sit or stand I'll work around this for their comfort.
Starting with a nice brush, then a preclip to remove the excess hair before the bath. Into the bath, snood on and quick pic taken. A nice shampoo massage to remove, dirt, debris and loosen any coat. A thorough rinse off, followed by a gentle towel dry. Dryer on, whilst gently brushing him to get him fully dry. Reclip on his coat to even it out to a lovely smooth finish. Nails trimmed, ears checked and cleaned. Pickle was very good throughout the groom, even though he was slightly nervous. Well done Pickle! Gorgeous girl. So beautiful.

Megans groom🐶❤️.

Megan is a 11 year old mixed breed who recently came in for a full groom . Her lovely mum Elaine bought her in for her groom. Megan has some arthritis in her front legs, but otherwise is a very healthy 11 year old! She has been groomed before and is used to the process. With all my grooms on older dogs, those with arthritis, hip dysplasia, I allow them to lead the groom. If they want to sit or stand I'll work around this for their comfort.

Molly's Groom🐶❤️

This is the very sweet Molly, a cavalier king charles spaniel. Her lovely mum, Collette contacted me regarding a full groom. Molly has a beautiful and unusual red coat😍.
I started with a gentle brush through to ease her into the groom, Also, allowing Molly time to get used to me and the environment. A preclip off of the excess hair before the bath. I trimmed her nails and her fluffy feet. Into the bath, snood on, and bath pic taken. Molly was brilliant in the bath. She wasn't worried about this at all. A nice warm gentle shampoo massage getting right down to the skin. A good rinse off, towel dry, and it's back to the table to get fully dried off. All dried, and re clipped to even out the coat. Scissor trimmed to shape her feet and ears. Then a nice brush through again. Ears cleaned, and its time to go home. Well done Molly! Thank you Molly❤️🐶

Scarlet's groom🐶❤️.

Scarlet is a 5 month old Cocker Spaniel who recently came in for her first ever puppy groom . Her lovely owners Morag & Ray wanted her to get used to being groomed from an early age, so she can grow up not scared of coming in for groom treatments. She's already very trusting and the last thing you want to do is upset that trust.
Starting with a nice brush through to give her a chance to relax and get used to the environment and me. Into the bath, snood on and quick pic taken. Belle's Groom🐶❤️

This is the very beautiful Belle, a Blue Staffi. Her lovely dad, Danny contacted me for Belle to have a full groom. The staffi is a dog close to my heart, as I've owned 3 over the years and lots of you have seen my boy, Prince peering out the conservatory window demanding my attention!😂. Their such a wonderful breed!
I started with a gentle brush through to deshed her coat, and ease her into the groom, Also, allowing Belle time to get used to me and the environment. I trimmed her nails next and then used the grinder to smooth them off. Into the bath, snood on, and bath pic taken. Look at that staffi smile! Belle was brilliant in the bath. Getting wet for Staffies is a marmite thing, they either love it or hate it!😂. A nice warm gentle shampoo massage getting down to the skin. A good rinse off, towel dry, and it's back to the table to get fully dried off. All dried, and a nice brush through again. Ears cleaned, and its time to go home. Well done Belle! BENJI
Benji is a 14 year old Spaniel. He's a little camera shy but a total sweetheart. Benji suffers with arthritis, so I bought som wider, softer, belly straps to help him feel more safe and comfortable during his grooms.❤️

LARRY
Larry is 5 month old Rough Collie, who is incredibly laid back. He is by far the most relaxed dog I've ever met! He has a fabulous coat that just changing from puppy to adult fur. It's still so soft though! Such a sweet boy!❤️

BAXTER
Baxter is so excited to come in for a groom, he will literally drag his owner Carla along with him. Baxter is a total lovable goofball! He loves to tilt his head when I'm trying to trim his ears and moustache🫣, and also likes to.avoid getting his picture taken😂.❤️

Millie's groom🐶❤️.

Millie is a 1 year old Working Cocker Spaniel who recently came in for a groom. Her lovely dad,  James bought her in. He wanted Millie to.have a trim & tidy up. Those spaniel coats and ears, pick up all sorts of debris😂. James also informed me that Millie is nervous of having her nails trimmed. Information like this really helps me tailor the groom for a dog.
Starting with a nice brush through to give her a chance to relax and get used to me and the new environment. Then i trimmed her fringing on her coat down. This removes the excess hair before a bath. Into the bath, snood on and quick pic taken. A nice shampoo massage to remove, dirt, debris and loosen her coat. A thorough rinse off, followed by a gentle  towel dry. Dryer on, whilst gently brushing her to get her fully dry. Nails trimmed, alternating between the nail clippers and nail grinder, depending on which one Millie preferred. Ears checked and cleaned. Well done Millie! Gorgeous girl. She's so sweet.

Keydah's groom🐶❤️

This is the very lovable Keydah, a 4 year old Staffi X.  His lovely mum Sophie, bought him in for a full groom. Keydah has a combination coat due to his crossbreed. He has some coarser hair along his back, neck, belly and around his muzzle area. Sophie would just like this reduced slightly.
I started with a gentle brush through to ease him into the groom and to allow Keydah time to get used to me and the environment. I trimmed his nails next, which didn't seem to bother him at all. Into the bath, snood on, and bath pic taken. He was brilliant in the bath. Getting wet for Staffies is a marmite thing, they either love it or hate it!😂. A nice warm gentle shampoo massage getting down to the skin. A good rinse off, towel dry and, it's back to the table to get fully dried off. All dried, and a nice brush through again, before a clip over with the clippers to reduce that longer, coarser hair. I scissor trimmed around his eyes to reduce his muzzle hair, and then under his feet. Ears cleaned, and its time to go home. Well done Keydah! So much fun and cuddles! Thank you Sophie❤️🐶

Lilys groom🐶❤️.

Lily is a 5 month young Cocker Spaniel who came in recently for a puppy groom. Her lovely owner, Claire bought her in for her first introduction groom. Lily has a really soft, glossy coat. Claire stayed during the groom and was a great support, with words of encouragement for Lily, and also dispensing treats when Lily had done well.
Starting with a nice brush through to give her a chance to relax and get used to me and the new environment. and then straight into the bath. Snood on and quick pic taken. A nice shampoo massage to remove, dirt, debris and loosen her coat. A thorough rinse out to finish the bath, followed by a gentle  towel dry. Dryer on, whilst gently brushing her to get her fully dry. Claire bathes and dries Lily at home so she used to the process. This is great! Nails trimmed and ears cleaned. Well done Lily & Claire! Such a sweet girl. It was a pleasure.

Another busy week! So again, I've created a group post, so you can enjoy these gorgeous dogs too.

Here are a few of my lovely clients❤️🐶.

Bella the King Charles Spaniel. Bella is a very gentle girl. She gets excited about coming out for a walk with her dad, until she realises she's comng for a groom😂. Bella is very good during her groom and doesn't seem worried by anything. Her favourite things are Rich Tea biscuits and when her dad comes to collect her after her groom is finished.🥰

Maisie the Yorkie x Bichon. Maisie is a little worrier, but is very good during her grooms. She is nervous of having her nails trimmed, but slowly and gently she let's me get them done! She's not worried by the clippers, bath, or being dried. Each time she gets a little braver. Well done Maisie😍.

Norman the Griffon x Shihtzu. Norman is Maisie's brother, and is very gentlemanly in letting Maisie go for her groom first. He is very good during his groom but is also, not a fan of his front legs being trimmed. I turn the clipper down to the lowest setting and he is happy about this. Well done too Norman😍

POST 2: Last week was a busy week! So I've created a group post, so you can enjoy these gorgeous dogs too.

Here are a few of my lovely clients❤️🐶.

Lexi the Spaniel. Lexi is a very sweet, bundle of fun. She loves being groomed and snuggling in for cuddles, especially during the drying stage. She has a really lovely calm nature and is great at therapy for her family, Freya & Ethan❤️🐶❤️

Clay the Shihtzu, aka little pig. Clay is an adorable older chap who loves to be brushed apart from his front legs. Slowly and surely he let's me get them done! Not so keen on his face being trimmed but a bit of patience and praise seens to work in the end! Totally sweetheart who loves to pinch his pawrents food when he thinks their not looking. Ninja skills indeed! 🤣😀

Monty the Cockerpoo. Monty has fabulous curly, soft hair. He likes a nice sit down whilst being groomed, so I work around this as much as possible. He's used to being groomed and is really good. Also, not a fan of his front legs being trimmed. I turn the clipper down to the lowest setting and Monty is happy about this.😍

Last week was a busy week! So I've created a group post, so you can enjoy these gorgeous dogs too.

Here are a few of my lovely clients❤️🐶.

Lily the Shihtzu. Lily is a very sweet girl who loves to stop and have cuddles during her groom. She is used to being groomed and isn't phased by anything. She stays super still whilst I trim her face, often looking like she's just about to drop off to sleep🥰.

Sammy the Cockerpoo & Joey the Yorkie. Sammy loves to cuddle and be groomed. Joey likes to grumble at me whilst I groom him but as soon as i stop he nudges me to start again🤣. Both are super sweet and love staying together throughout the whole groom. Bathtime buddies😍.

Ralph is a Cockerpoo. He is very laid back and has a super thick coat. His fringe often falls across his eyes within weeks of a groom. I have recommended a headband, just like the footballers wear!🤣
Ralph loves a groom and is very busy spinning around on the table during the drying stage! A total spin dry!😂
