We already know we have the best clients...but look what we got given today 🥹 Our little Coastie team lovingly made by Mr Kipling's Mum (our amazing Diabetic in remission) complete with stethoscopes and our uniform jackets 🩵💛 We also got given homegrown tomatoes yesterday and a couple of weeks ago some incredible vegan tiffins - what a talented bunch you lot are! So grateful - thank you 🙏🙏🙏

Last night we celebrated our wonderful Paula who's last day at work was today before she marries the lovely Ant! Being the daredevil she is, we surprised her with a ride on (weeeeeeee!!) and then a more sedate sunset meal at (yum)! Paula is the beating heart of this practice, cares so deeply and means so much to so many - so please join me in wishing her the best start to married life 💕

As many of you know I was asked to speak at the ISFM Malta congress recently, and then also to do a webinar on home-visiting. After some very late nights and very early starts, a helpful photographer hubby and the BEST kitty, owner and nurses..it has been released to the veterinary community today 🙌 😻 Nervous? Yes! Proud? Little yes! Even if this just starts the conversation about how home-visiting can be an option for some cats then that will make me very happy 🐾

📢 From tomorrow Nikki will be attending the ISFM annual congress in Malta until Sunday. This years focus (see what I did there) is eyes 👀 and Nikki has been asked to be part of a panel discussion where she will talk about how home-visiting can give better outcomes in terms of blood pressure measurements and improving overall stress in our patients 😻. This is very exciting to be bringing the work of The Coastal Cat Vet and all we stand for to the world stage of feline medicine 🙌 🐈 🌊 🚑
The amazing nurses - Paula, Eva and Nat will be looking after everything at home and the wonderful New Priory are on standby if anyone needs urgent care. Addio for now cat-fans! 😻

🚨 The new law on microchipping cats in the UK comes into force today! 🚨 🐈 Please read post about what it could mean for your cat. We try to make sure we check every new patient has a working microchip and offer to do one there and then in your home if not. Our microchips are also Thermochips - they not only record the unique number, but also the body temperature of the cat - which when we are ALL about minimising stress, can help massively (rather than an unecessary🌡up the bottom 🙀).

📢 Today the Coastal Cat Vet turned two years old 🥳 Happy Purrthday to us 🥳

Thank you to all of our lovely Coastie owners who entrust the care of their furballs to our little independent practice, to my amazing team who care so deeply, and finally to all the cats themselves - some of you love us (OK we know it's the treats really 😻)...some of you tolerate us 😼...and some of you couldn't care less 😾...but we love every single one of you and your fantastical feline ways 😍🐈🐈‍⬛️😺

Been a little while posting as we've been soooo busy 🚑 🌊 🐈 BUT wanted to share this little newly-diagnosed diabetic superhero with you - Mr Kipling - who instead of a cape, sports a January-sale babygrow and wears it well 😻 Underneath that babygrow is a 50p-sized sensor that we fitted to his skin which continuously records his glucose levels and then is measured on his Mum's app so we can try and stabilise his diabetes. To say he has been brave is an understatement but the real superhero is his Mum Claire, who even with a crippling phobia of needles has worked SO hard to get him the twice daily insulin injections he needs (alongside the help and support of the lovely Hollie 💉) This duo 😻🦸🏼‍♀️ truly are nailing it as the caped crusaders and the love, care and dedication shown by Claire is what inspires me to do what I do ❤ Well done guys 🐾

So because last week was a bit of a juggling act with staff sickness...🤒 we have decided to say..

🌟 🐾 Happy Mew Year 🐾 🌟 to all our wonderful cats and their humans this week instead!

2023 was our first full year as Brighton and Hove's first feline-only, mobile-only clinic - and our first as a team of four as Lauren joined us and we celebrated our first birthday in April 🎂
We want to say a huge thank you to those of you that have supported us and told your family and friends about us - helping our small, family-run business to grow and reach other cat-loving owners. We don't take anything for granted and I know I've said it before but we utterly love what we do and feel so privileged to get to look after your furry family. 2024 is shaping up to be another great year so please keep still spreading the love and we will see you armed with lick-e-lix and treats-a-plenty on your doorstep sometime soon!

🎄 Merry Christmas 🎄 to all our wonderful cats, owners and followers! We are now off to spend some much-needed time with our families - but will be back next Wednesday, Thursday and Friday should you need us! Thank you to lovely nurse Holly and vet Natalia for allowing the team some time to do that last minute panic-buying (!) and to as always for looking after any emergencies in our absence. Please note emails and PetsApps will not be monitored during this period.
Stay safe, keep warm, look after each other and take some lessons from our fantastic felines to just sleep, eat and reeeeeelax 🐈🎄❤
