Bonkers for Conkers?

Pumpkin spice lattes, crunchy orange leaves under your feet and a scattering of conkers, it must be autumn! Although your dog might love playing in the leaves, or eating the inside of your pumpkin once you have carved it at Halloween, you should keep them away from conkers and acorns.

Conkers and acorns are both highly poisonous to dogs, and can also cause blockages in their stomachs. Whilst they might have a bitter taste, so it is unlikely that your dog will want to eat enough to make them very ill, even a small amount can cause an upset stomach several hours after.

So, if your dog is prone to eating things they shouldn’t, then it might be best to keep them on a lead near conker trees or try to avoid them altogether. Remember to always call your vet for advice if your dog has eaten conkers or acorns and try to have a rough idea of how much you think they ingested.

One of our clients has gone missing from her garden in Tongdean Avenue Hove on Friday 31st March. She is a very friendly Chihuahua named Peaches. As you can imagine her owner is absolutely devastated and just wants to be reunited with her. There is a reward for Peaches safe return. TRIPLE TROUBLE - THE SEMINAR!! 27/11/22

Emma, Rachel and Tom are very excited to be bringing their Triple Trouble seminar to Brighton & Hove!

This will be a relaxed and fun-filled event, showcasing 3 multi-award winning stylists, specialising in 3 very different areas! They will be chatting all about grooming competitions, share stories from their salons, and give tips & advice from customer relations to working smarter, not harder.

Emma Darlington, who recently won Best In Show at the British Creative Championships, will be covering an Asian Fusion groom on a miniature poodle. Showing you easy ways to achieve donut muzzles and cute expressions that you could use on everyday salon dogs, and how to effortlessly achieve a scissor finish.

Rachel Downes, who had a recent 1st place in Open class at the Great British Grooming show, will be bringing her infamous white Standard Poodle, Denver, to show us how she achieves her incredible scissor finishes in his German trim.

And Tom Heaton-Clarke, a multi award winning groomer and well known for his debut on BBC Pooch Perfect. Tom will be showing us how he achieves a perfect salon trim on Miniature Schnauzers.

We encourage all attendees to ask as many questions as possible, feel free to get up close and personal with our speakers and models, and also have a laugh, as we all take home some new tips.

The day will be split into 3 demos. We’ll have a break for lunch, which will be provided. So, please let us know of any dietary requirements in advance. There will be a glass of bubbly to enjoy on us! 😉
