This is our gentle reminder about our dog grooming salon getting a sparkling new do! 💇‍♀️💅🏼

Between the 18th September - 18th October our dog grooming services will not be available as our salon will be closed for its refurbishment 👷

Since our last post we have spoken to the team who are going to do the work for us, and they’ve advised our shop will need to be closed for the first and last week of the refurb too. This means our shop will be closed between the 18th-25th September and 11th - 18th October. If you rely on us for food and treats, please stock up 😊

On the lead up to the refurb and following, we will be working double time with extra support from other dog groomers to try our best to fit your pup in for their fave appointment 🐶 please be aware we are almost fully booked directly before and after, but we will try our best to squeeze you in if we can!

Adorable Sid, the mini poodle, came in for his groom this week and looks floofier than ever with his gorgeous doughnut muzzle and teddy bear head. 🍩🧸

Please, please, please watch out for your dogs today in these scorching temperatures! ☀️ HEAT STROKE CAN KILL! ‼️

Look out for heavy panting, excessive drooling, lethargy, drowsiness, uncoordinated movements, a state of collapse or vomiting - if any of these symptoms occur, contact your vet, immediately.

Please keep your dog safe and watch out for others too 🐶

The great British summer… has it landed yet? Who knows… 😅😂
This doesn’t mean that we can’t look forward to and pay attention to the hotter spells of weather, where our dogs may behave a little differently ☀️
We can simply help them out by adjusting their nutritional habits during the warmer weather - easy peasy! 🐶🍴

Do you know how to keep your dog safe in warm weather? Well, look on further as we share our easy tips on how to keep your dog safe in scorching temperatures ☀️

1. Hydration is KEY! 💧provide water inside and outside the house!
2. Provide shade and cool areas 😎 think cooling mats, dog tents and fans!
3. Adjust exercise routines 🦮 - early morning or late evening walkies please!
4. Watch out for signs of overheating 🥵 panting, drooling or confusion? Ring the vet!
5. Protect against parasites 🦟 check over your dogs when getting back from early morning or evening walks - and keep up to date with their treatments.
6. Keep up with regular grooming ✂️ if your dog has a thick or curly coat, make sure they are being regularly groomed to keep them cool 😎

Oh Gladys, how we love you! 💗
The gorgeous Gladys came in for her wash and blow dry yesterday and she definitely left the salon with an extra strut in her step 💃🏽🐶

We absolutely love the variety of furry faces we see through our door, and Gladys is certainly a favourite of ours! She even has her own Instagram with her brother Gilbert if you fancy watching their antics! 😍

It’s a wrap! Scissors and combs are down.
The dogs of Brighton and Hove are now beautiful and ready to see Santa paws.
From all of the Bone Idol Team… we would like to thank you for all the cards, presents and tips you are all so kind and generous. We would also like to thank you for supporting our small business again this year without you and your four legged friends we wouldn’t be able to do the job we adore. We wish you a very Merry Christmas and an amazing 2024. We all look forward to seeing you and your pooches in January.
