Lots of 'first times' this week
Marie Bancroft-Rimmer had her first beach outing with her super cob and it was wonderful to watch her enjoying a canter down the beach.
One of my younger riders jumped her first 50-60cm full course in training at Felbridge Show Ground, and rode beautifully
Malcolm McKemey rode a lovely prelim 4 and had had some fantastic consistent scores in the 63-64% range 💪
I jumped Pippa round a small course in the bitless bridle for the first time and she was fabulous and jumped a lovely clear. 10 minutes after scoring 70% and coming 2nd in our dressage class. Super girl.
Friday I didnt get the fancy dress memo for Pony club Hickstead camp SJ relay day, but luckily someone saved me with a superman outfit (no pics sorry 🤣)
I had the pleasure of riding the new 4yo's this week at one of the riding centres I coach at.
They were all impeccably behaved, and quite far on for their age. 'Crumble' popped round a few fences very sweetly.
Managed to squidge in a boulder session and some running.
It all starts again tomorrow !

Tomorrow morning is the first day of 9 days off in a row for me!
I absolutely adore my job and all my amazing clients, but my goodness I am really ready for a rest after a really busy first half of the year.
I think my last week off was last September !
Thank you to everyone for making it a lot of fun and its been fantastic watching you all progress and learn with your horses.

So 9 days of rest....after the marathon I entered tomorrow morning 🤣
Here's a fun slow mo of Pippa jumping last week 🥰

Pippa did a lovely job with the low and wide oxer this morning.
This is a good way to work on reach and shoulder mobility when jumping, and its also useful for horses that aren't so keen on jumping ditches xc.
One of my other lovely clients was sadly feeling under the weather so I did a bit of stretchy flatwork with lovely Tart, who was very willing and really loosened up by the end

Well done ponies!

Pippa had a very successful day at Felbridge tooday with 2x 1st rosettes!
Malcolm McKemey rode a lovely Prelim 4, with his best score of the year, huge well done!
I rode Prelim 5 (I rarely seem to do much dressage these days as I'm usually jumping when we are out!)
I was quite pleased with 69.52%
Well done Pippa :)

Always one of my favourite outings, and so good for horses that need to gain confidence with water 💙

Some fun with bounces :)
Great for balance and co-ordination!
Pippa has been quite happy jumping in the bitless bridle

Make sure you jump from trot too!
It's very easy to just jump out of canter once you can see a stride.
But why should we jump from trot?
• Develops the horse's hindquarters
• Helps horses prone to rushing
• Helps lift the shoulders
• Teaches the rider to 'wait' for the jump
• Teaches the horse to think about its feet

Really excited about this one !
Please come and join us on Saturday June 14th at Chailey Village Hall for an evening talking about fitness, horses and how we can become the best we can for our horses.
Fitness is so individual, and in this day and age we recognise it is not always one solution for everyone, but about finding how we can bring ourselves into the best place physically that we can
Kindly hosted by the Equi fun club!

Hot 🔥weather!
Squeezed in some xc yesterday after the rain last week briefly softened the ground up a bit. Need some more before we go again though!
How lovely to be in the sunshine though 💛
