Meet the original Luca💙

He was my bestest boy when I first started working in rescue back in 2015.

No regard for personal space and still thought himself a lap dog despite weighing at least 50kg, he was a big softie and everyone loved him.

Of course he got adopted, but unfortunately he was returned to the shelter just a few weeks later.

Luca never got another chance to find his forever home. He collapsed one day due to ongoing health issues and it was decided the kindest thing to do was to let him go🌈

This happened on my day off, and I didn't find out about it until later that evening. I wasn't able to say goodbye to Luca, but I brought his ashes home with me so his final resting place could be in a home where he was loved so dearly.

When I first had the idea to create my own puppy comforter a few years ago, it was a no-brainer I'd name him after Luca and design it to look like him too.

Eventually I'll release more variations of my puppy comforter, named after other rescue dogs I have loved and lost. I hope they can help those dogs and puppies who are lucky enough to find their forever home, feel settled and safe🐾

It's something every dog deserves✨
