RIP The legend that was Paul O' Grady.
Deeply shocking, and saddening.. was such an advocate for the dogs that needed rescuing, and rehomed more himself than perhaps he'd planned! But loved them so much, and gave them a lovely life. He will be missed. But I'm sure his dogs that have gone before him will have met him at the bridge. 🌈💖
I received this for Christmas from a good friend, admittedly I've been a little sceptical (sorry friend!) As to if it really did what it says on the box.. "No more wet dog?"
Really? How can that be?
Well, it can!
After a shower like most, my dogs are particularly good at shaking themselves
And of course typically the spray from wet dog goes everywhere, even after a towel dry.
But with this "sphonge" it actually soaks up the majority of the water, and doesn't drip after or leave a sopping wet towel. The excess wet is soaked up in the towel, and even the floor wasn't as slippery after I had used this!

Hoping all my clients past and present have enjoyed a lovely Christmas, and are looking forward to the year ahead. Thank you for you support this past year, and for trusting me with the fur members of your family. Each one is special in their own way to me. 😊
Christmas this year has looked slightly different to me, as it's the first in 12 years that I've not had my Number 1 boy with me in the physical sense.
There was no bark at 4am on Christmas morning to tell me my little one was up already!! Checking if Santa had been.
And there was no present under the tree with Merlins name on. 💔
They're not words that are enough to say how much he meant to me. And no its not fair that our faithful companions do not live longer.
But.. the length of time they are on our lives.. whether long or short.. They show us their unwavering, unconditional love, and faithfulness, which makes us the lucky ones to have had that.
So if you're just starting your journey through puppyhood, or pulling your hair out in the adolescent stage, or perhaps enjoying the steady pace before the twilight years.. My advice would be to laugh at their antics, even if sometimes it's hard going, take in every bit of them everyday, and take pictures lots of them..!! Because that small window of times goes by so fast, then slow your pace to match theirs, hold them a bit closer, sit on the floor beside them to watch the TV, or scroll through your phone, and tell them again you love them.
Because you'll be thankful you did, and they'll know you're giving to them what they've always freely given to you.. Love to last a life time. Ours, and theirs 🌈💖🐾
It wouldn't feel right if I didn't mention the passing of our wonderful Queen.
May you rest in peace Ma'am, and know we are so thankful for all you have done since being on the throne.
I did not know you, but as with many shared your love of dogs.
I'll bet everyone of them were running to meet you from the 🌈 bridge!
How is my "Number 1 boy" 12 years old today?
As each year passes, it is bitter sweet for me..
Great! He's reached another milestone and is generally in good health! :) Sad because no matter how much we wish it, our beloved pets go "over the bridge" way sooner than our hearts are ready.
Today I celebrate you my boy.. Merlin, my loyal, vocal, ALWAYS Number 1 boy.
And as with this past year... Each day with you is a bonus, each photo I take is more special, and each memory we make is captured in my heart forever. ❤️
I dont boast to be a 'big buiness' with lots of clients, as I really only have a few..
But it's those few that remind me why I love my job.
I may not have loadsa of money, or be recommended as a big buisiness on social media pages..
However... the faces you see below, are a few of whom that at some point been entrusted into my care... each one different, with differing needs, but all with one thing in common they are loved. ❤ by their humans, and me.
They are the reason i love doing my job :)

This is am amazing example of what to be aware of through other peoples actions, whilst walking you dogs.
I find myself mirroring some of these behaviours with my own dog. And admittedly it can be very frustrating when other people walking their dogs do not react or unfortunately are unable to notice/recognice these signs...
If we are lucky enough, this link will reach far and wide to raise more awareness in our dog community.
It's staying in and keeping these guys safe today.
When you have an active dog, they don't necessarily 'need' a walk every day.. you can tire them out with enrichment activities just as well.. A Kong, liki mats, snuffle mats, puzzlers. Scent work.. To name but a few.. Treats can be used, or part of their daily food intake.
The important thing whatever you choose is to keep your fur family safe.. even if it is just one missed walk. Xx

Early morning walk for these 3 this morning! It's gonna be a hot one folks.
Early morning, evening walks are best for our 4 legged friends.
But if u do need to take them out later well shaded, maybe a stream and lots of water will help them to feel more comfortable.. 😉

Blossom on trees and new growth makes me think, flowers have overcome the winter to bloom again, So we too are also being allowed to bloom more freely at last!
On your next walk with your companion just take in the surroundings and know better days are coming!

Today is another day with my older boy Merlin, so I feel blessed.
It's so difficult when a dog starts to age, and facing all that comes with it.
A friend recently taught me to enjoy the time and make memories of each day u have.
Life gets busy and sometimes we're caught up in that, just taking it as a given that your best friend is always there. That's what I'm guilty of..
So recently I've taken more pictures, given that extra ear scratch, sat with him on the floor to watch TV, if that's where he chooses to sit. And soaked up the moments of being with him even more.
And learnt however hard... quality of his life is more important than how I feel.
Enjoy those moments, and take that time for the extra belly rub, and ear scratch to your pet it will mean the world 🌎

Chas... My fierce, loyal, lion dog 🌈
So you may wonder why my dog walking business is called Chas and Merlins Muddy Moments?! When my name is neither Chas or Merlin!?
We've had a fair few dogs in the family home and I've loved each one individually to the moon and back as far as I can remember. But 10 years ago Merlin my large sheltie became MY 1st 'own' dog. He has been on such a long journey of life with me.. well why wouldn't I name it after him?! My first boy, and now my golden oldie. 💖
And Chas? Chas was the most special sh*t-zu you could wish to encounter. But with the heart of a lion! (and maybe just a touch of little dog syndrome.)He became the greatest companion to a very dear elderly friend and extended part of my family!
Sadly this last August we had to let him go over rainbow bridge.. our hearts broke but what a way to honor him and remember our fiercely loyal boy Chas by putting his name in as part of my buisiness?!
As for muddy moments..?! Neither dog much liked the mud but my other 2 dogs do so a little salute to them too! :) Thought I'd share. Keep staying safe! xx

To conform to the latest government guidelines, I'd like to reassure you I will have my antibacterial wipes to use on your lovely dogs after contact with me, and before contact with you. I will also bring my own lead to again minimise contact.
