✈️ The Dog Den will be CLOSED for January 2025. We will be back in February.
This is due to travel plans😁

✈️ I am so sorry for any inconvenience caused by this, but if I don’t go now… I NEVER will.

✈️ This post is to give you just under 6 months to prepare & plan for my absence.

✈️ Please DO NOT ask for the week before I leave & the week I return as I am already fully booked!
VERY LIMITED AVAILABILITY

✈️ If you would like to book in for before & after my time off, please text me! However please note that there could be several extra weeks between my availability than your normal appointment schedule.

❌ DO NOT PANIC ❌
- There are several fantastic, local & 1to1 groomers I can recommend to fill the gap.
(Just ask me for their details)

- January is the coldest time of year (normally) lots of your dog’s will be ok for a few extra weeks if you don’t want to go elsewhere.

- Please ask for a shorter length if you think you’re going to struggle with maintaining at home.

- We lose roughly £300 in cancellation/no show fee’s every year in January! So it is the best time for us to close.

Although yoga is deemed relaxing, the upcoming trend of puppy yoga is anything but zen. In fact, it can cause unnecessary stress to puppies during their crucial development phases.

Shockingly there are no current regulations in place, putting puppies as young as six weeks old at risk 😔

🐾 His family are moving away & they have found a new groomer! Thankfully Leo’s mum gave me plenty of warning so I was able to shower Leo with a little more love at his last few grooms. We do get attached!🫣💔

❌ Appointment Checklist ❌

✅ Has your dog had its usual exercise routine before their appointment?

✅ Have you given your dog time to go to the toilet before arriving for their appointment?

✅ Please make sure you feed your dog atleast an hour (if not longer) before their bath.

✅ Check for knots & tangles a few days before your dog’s groom! Brush any areas that need attention, especially if you want to keep your dog’s hair long.

✅ If you have any concerns regarding your dog’s health & welfare please talk to a vet before bringing them in. Your vet may advise to re-schedule their groom for a later date.

‼️Xylitol Poisoning in Dogs‼️

Xylitol is a common sweetener used in human food which is extremely toxic to dogs and even small amounts can be fatal.
Our most recent case, Rupert the handsome boy in the picture below, accidentally ingested large amount of chewing gum. Luckily due to the prompt reaction of his owners and the correct support treatment, he is now fully recovered. 👏

Products containing xylitol:
🔹Toothpaste
🔹Mouthwash
🔹Chewing gum⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️
🔹Peanut butter
🔹Sugar-free sweets and breath mints
🔹Jellies & jams
🔹Cereals
🔹Sugar-free puddings & other products

Symptoms include: vomiting, lethargy, low blood sugar, disorientation, collapse, seizures, tremors, clotting disorders and liver failure.

If you suspect your pet has ingested anything containing xylitol please seek immediate veterinary advice.

🍒 Yearly Reminder 🍒

❌ We do NOT de-Matt.

✂️ Small knots & tangles can sometimes be gently teased out, or removed & blended in.

❌ However, matted areas will be shaved! This is to protect your dog from unnecessary pain & discomfort.

✂️ Please brush your dog regularly at home to prevent their coat from becoming matted. If you have any questions, please message me!

♥️ Your dog’s happiness & welfare will always be the most important factor.
