We are a self-funded, de-centralised Guinea Pig rescue in Bristol, UK. We are currently only providing adoption & bonding with limited numbers of piggies.

🩵 Thor & Cloud 🩵

These gorgeous 3 year old brothers can’t understand why they haven’t been adopted yet! They keep being overlooked and have watched lots of other piggies come and go.

We cannot understand why, they get along wonderfully, sharing food and pop-corning about. They love nothing more than snuggling under a blanket on the sofa munching on some parsley.

Thor is the more confident of the two, so Cloud generally follows his lead. Both boys are very chatty, especially when greeting any human friends!

Despite being lovely friendly boys, they aren’t chosen because of their colouring!

Can you help us help the guinea pigs?

Have you got a van/large car that could fit a 6 foot double hutch?

We have been kindly offered this free outdoor hutch that will be great for emergencies in the summer.

Can you help us move it from Mangotsfield to Horfield in Bristol?

As 2024 ends we are reflecting on another busy year at Little Wheekers. A small admin team is supported by several fosters who give up their time to look after the piggies in our care.

We have responded to an average of over 100 messages or emails each month - for piggy advice/guidance, surrender requests and adoption queries.

We have adopted out over 150 piggies to their furever homes this year in over 100 adoptions and, as of today, we have 23 foster piggies (plus 1 rabbit!) who will be looking for their new homes in 2025.

Our biggest cost by far is vet fees and we never refuse a surrender just because they might have medical needs. We currently have 12 long term fosters in the rescue. During 2024 we have spent almost £12,000 on vet fees despite the support and discounted rates from our local vet partners.

We would like to thank all our supporters for donations, C&C and hay purchases, boarding piggies with us and adopting from us which all provide the vital funds to help keep Little Wheekers going.

Betty Update Betty saw vet Amy again today, she was very pleased with how her recovery is going. Betty’s wounds are healing well, she’s not showing any signs of being in pain and she’s managed to gain weight! Here’s a lovely video of Betty with her sisters, working on piling on those grams
