ADOPTING A CAT OR KITTEN

Our cats are extremely precious to us and we are always seeking caring, permanent homes.

• Are you a home owner living away from a
main road with access to a garden?
• Do you have or are you prepared to fit a cat
flap into your house?
• Are you prepared to pay vet costs for a
possible 18 - 20 years?
• Are you prepared to make your new pet a

member of your family, ie, given access to all
areas of your home? If the answer is yes to all these questions telephone 0117 9243128 today - we want to hear from you. Adoption viewings are available, but ONLY BY APPOINTMENT- The Moggery is a busy place! ADOPTION EXTRA

We ceased placing in rented accommodation in 2004 due to the fact that half the cats we adopt each year are from relocating tenants who cannot find new landlords who will accept their cats (a cat may live 18 - 20 years and the owner will move many times during that period)

• We do not place on bus routes or fast roads
because the main cause of death for urban
cats is by road accident
• Cat flaps can be fitted in uPVC doors and
double glazing. The latest cat flaps such as
Sure Flar or Pet Porte read your cat's identichip
number and will not admit any other cat
Looking after a cat properly is expensive, if
you are not prepared to pay for necessary vet
care eg vaccinations don't even consider
obtaining a pet

SUPPORTING US

We need many volunteers to operate The Moggery and our volunteers come from all walks of life from students to retirees, nurses, teachers, drivers and office workers. All volunteers work hard but they enjoy making a difference. We have regular social gatherings to enable the volunteers in different fields to meet.

• We need daily volunteers to feed and clean out
the cats in care
• We need help at fund raising events eg our
Annual Auction, Christmas Fair, etc and we
need collectors at Garden Centres and
Supermarkets during the year
• We need Progress Checkers to visit cats in
their new homes
• We need Transporters to bring in cats or take
them to the vet

NEUTERING

• Every day in the UK approximately 1,000
healthy cats and kittens are put to sleep
because they cannot find a home
• Every kitten deliberately or accidently bred
robs a cat in a rescue of the chance of a home
• A female kitten can become pregnant at only 5
months and produce 2 / 3 litters every year
• A male kitten will become sexually mature at 5
months and will spray around his home and
the neighbourhood (the smell is appalling) he
will fight other males and wander as far as 5
miles looking for fertile females. Please consider your cats best interests and get them neutered/spayed. If you are struggling to afford this please contact the Moggery on 01179243128, we may be able to provide assistance.

These gorgeous kitties and their mum are available for adoption the kittens are 8 weeks old. Sago is the black and white boy: He is a lively, lovely boy who will come climb in your lap for a nap but loves to play and chase. He has beautiful markings and seems like he will be a bit fluffy which is interesting as his mom has a very smooth coat. Behan tabby girl with brown feet: VERY playful and loves climbing and toys. She is very tolerant of being held and played with. My six-year-old carries her around in a baby carrier and she seems to love it and will sleep like a baby. She will need lots of play time and affection. Poha Tabby girl with white toes): Much more restful and cuddlier than her siblings, she is the smallest and daintiest little girl. She doesn’t care at all for the jelly wet food we’ve offered but loves tuna and will steal it off your plate and eats biscuits Mama will go with Poha seems that Mama cat isn’t bothered by her. She is super sweet and loves to nap on you. Could you give any of these sweeties a loving forever home. GREAT NEWS BRYNIE AND SARAH HAVE BEEN ADOPTED. Brynie and Sarah Iris are a very special pair of kittens. They were left outside The Moggery a couple of weeks ago without any basket in the torrential rain. One of our volunteers was leaving and heard a cat crying we went to investigate and found a little kitten in our recycling area. I took her in and then came back out see if there were anymore. I found nothing. At 11.30pm I got a text from a neighbour saying he had just rescued a little B/w kitten from a fox. She had an injured leg but nothing more. She was taken to the vet in the morning and was checked over. She was very luckily ok and has healed very well. Could you give this cute little pair of roughly 10 weeks a loving forever home. Despite the trauma they have gone through they love to play and have cuddles. Tobi is missing. She went missing from Lilymead Ave BS4 2BY at 7pm on Friday.
She is a small tabby, usually very confident and fearless but I think she may have been spooked by fireworks on my street and has not come home.
Her name is Tobi- she is a shorthaired female, 1 year and 2 months old. She is chipped and neutered.

Albina is approximately 3 years old and was rescued from Cardiff with her two kittens. She’s had a really tough time. She’s now been neutered and on the mend. She’s extremely quiet and calm natured and is growing in confidence. She will need a quiet and patient home with no young kids or pets. She’s desperate for love and a safe place to relax. Food Appeal. The kitten season should have ended but it’s still going strong at The Moggery. As you can see Makki is about to deliver her kittens and we have 4 other pregnant mums in our care. We also have lots of little mouths to feed from kittens we have rescued recently. We would be extremely grateful if you could support us by buying some of the following kitten food. Happy Ending Amarilla “Thank you so much for yesterday and letting me adopt Amarilla now Cinderella.
Just wanted to let you know that she spent most of yesterday evening curled up on my lap. She even fell asleep as I could hear her snoring! She curled up on the cushion on my chair to sleep. This morning she let me pick her up and give her a cuddle and she’s purring lots.” Such great news. 😻
