Puppy training that works a treat
Embraced the puppy chaos today, surrounded by a pack of older furballs. ๐พ Cuddles, chasing games, and a touch of mayhem โ all in a day's paw-some adventure.
Day one
We met some of the residents and got to walk some of the dogs early morning, before it gets to hot. Afterwards, we bathed some of the orphan puppies. They were very adorable.
I hung around for a bit and met a little lad who was in accident that has left him paralysed. Luckily, he is doing really well. Every time I stopped stroking him he would ask for more. Save to say he stole my heart ๐

This post goes out to my main girl Berty. She means the absolute world to me. Every day she brings me so much joy and happiness. I am so grateful she is part of my life. ๐
Todays team
This is Lucky and Dusty they are just under 6 months old and we have been doing puppy training with them.
We worked on desensitisation with harness and lead and we played a few recall games in the garden. They did fantastically!
If you want 121 bespoke puppy training contact us via DM and we can discuss your options.
REMEMBER it's okay to have a no walk day. Especially on a hot day like this.
Instead do some scent-work, enrichment or trick training with them. Ever done a day of learning and felt absolutely shattered afterwards? This is because the brain needs so much energy to be able to function and process everything, especially when learning new things.
This is why when our dogs do scent-work for 30mins they are just as tired as if they been out for a 60mins walk. Their brain needs so much power to process all the different smells and problem solve.
Keep your dogs safe and healthy take a day off walking and spend some quality time with them. ๐ฉ๐โ๐ฆบ๐ฆฎ๐
The worst thing that could happen to a dog walker has happened. I have an ankle injury that has now had me off my feet for 6 weeks already.
Hopefully, I will have dates for me to be able to start my recover but I just have to be patient.
It has been a very challenging time. I am not used to, not being able to walk for miles everyday. And the limited slow walks I am having, are definitely not touching the sides but I have to remember at least I can walk even if it's only for a short while.
On a positive note. Some of you may of known this, I am currently studying to become a dog trainer. I have the chance to put my all into it. This is definitely helping me in focusing on something else and staying positive.
I hopefully will be back very soon. If anyone has any questions about dog walking or training please give me a message I'll be happy to help.

Puppy Visit
Meet Maia - it was our first 30mins Solo walk together. These are great for getting to know each other. When she is old enough she'll be part of the pack walks but for the time being it will just be the two of us.

Puppy Visit.
7 month old Bilbo is doing so well.
I take him out for 30mins, we play, he can do his business and we do some van training with him as well.
When we first started van training with him he wouldn't even get in to the van. Now we are at the stage he happily get in and, I can close all the doors with he being pretty comfortable. Next stage will be turning the engine on. It's important to do this a pace your puppy is comfortable with. We started with van training back in November seeing him once a week. Small steps to success is key.

My story
Growing up I had numerous of different types of animals:
cats, rats, guinea pigs, horses just to name a few. For my 11th birthday I finally was allowed to get a dog and this is were my obsession for dogs started.
I come from a hairdressing back ground and a during lockdown I had decided to make some changing to my life. I started walking a few clients dogs with with my own and back in October I decided that I want to take the next step and start up a dog walking business.
In addition to this, I also applied to the Dog Training College to become a certified dog trainer. I have now been accepted and will start my journey in March.
Changing my career path has been scary but I definitely have made the right choice as it brings me so much joy and happiness.
We haven't posted in while. We been so busy with the Christmas rush. Finally getting back on track.
This is Douli - she is beautiful inside and out, such a gentle soul.
We wouldn't have them any other way. ๐ถ
Always such a pleasure taking this one out. Best behaved 5 month old puppy I know. We always have so much fun together. ๐ถ

Yesterday, I encountered Bambiโa fragile spirit enveloped in fear. Her slender frame trembled in the presence of other dogs and men, making even mealtime a challenge. Attempting an office environment failed as she darted off into the forest. Janie, the compassionate founder of @arcsouthgoa, suggested introducing Bambi to the feline companions, hoping for a more comforting environment. Setting up a dedicated space, we offered her food, and to our relief, she stopped trembling and consumed a full meal. I spent time with Bambi, noticing her gradual ease in my presence, even allowing me to remove some ticks. A heartwarming moment was witnessing the cats displaying no concern, with one affectionate feline engaging in a gentle scent exchange. While we may never fully comprehend Bambiโs past, @arcsouthgoa ensures she receives the best care possible. Dogs like Bambi rely on ongoing support, and ARC has a special sponsorship program for such cases. If you feel compelled to make a difference, consider sponsoring Bambi or exploring other opportunities through @arcsouthgoa. Check the bio for links and details on how you can contribute to the well-being of dogs like her.
