Christmas in the kennels ❤️🎄🥰🐕🎅🐩🎁
Whilst the rest of us were hiding from Storm Bert at the weekend, Dougie was having a whale of a time in the very wet weather! 🐳🌧
As you can see, when out and about Dougie has a real zest for life and loves everyone he meets, so we really don't want to dampen his spirits and tell him that he hasn't received any suitable applications yet.
Dougie is an adolescent Labrador X that has sadly had a very unsettled start in life. He needs an experienced home, without other pets or young children. However, we know in the right home Dougie will make a fabulous fun-loving companion. Could you be the special home Dougie would love this Christmas?

Dougie ❤
Meet Dougie, he has stolen the hearts of his carers here at Holly Hedge however we are desperate to find him a home to call his own as he is finding Kennels quite stressful.
Dougie is a ten month old Labrador cross . Not only is he very handsome, he is super smart. Dougie enjoys running around our enclosed fields and exploring the woods, Dougie walks lovely on lead and we have been working on his recall.
Dougie is good with dogs out and about but needs to work on his social skills and self control as can get a bit over excited. Dougie would need to be the only dog in the home.
We know Dougie will have an amazing relationship with someone dedicated to giving him that time and training needed.
We don’t have a full history for him so a child and pet free home is needed for now, with someone home most of the time. Dougie has had a difficult start in life and is desperately in need of a patient foster or forever home to show him some love and kindness.

Rum update…😻
Remember little Rum, the kitten poorly with pneumonia, well he has been showing us what a little fighter he is.
A recent chest x-ray had showed no real improvement with his tiny lungs and then after a bad reaction to the sedation we almost lost him, but he bounced back and was thankfully able to return from the vets to the sanctuary a couple of days later.
Rum has since started some new medication to see if that will help his lungs to heal and he is doing well. His big sister went to her forever home last week and he has been embracing the peace and quiet and seems very content on his own and he has really come out of his shell! He's been having some reiki and zoopharmacognosy which he’s responded amazingly to.
Rum has gone from being very nervous and worried about being handled to a very sweet affectionate purrmonster as you can see! Whilst Rum’s recovery is ongoing, the good news is he is now well enough to head off to a foster home this weekend.
Good luck little Rum cake!

After two years in kennels, everyone was thrilled when Finn was recently reserved, sadly though it was not to be and through no fault of his own, Finn’s reserve fell through.
Finn is a sensitive soul having spent most of his life in kennels. Like most lurchers, Finn loves to race round our secure field and then spend most of the day napping on his comfy raised bed and he is more than happy to cuddle up with his carers on the sofa.
Finn finds loud noises quite scary, and fireworks season is fast approaching. Although we will as always have extra staff on volunteers on site, Finn would much prefer to be in a warm and cosy home with lots of love and reassurance.

Phoebe never seems to receive an application or even an enquiry, she is a sensitive soul that can find kennel life stressful but over the last few months, we've really seen a cheeky playful side come out in her. Last week she had a day out with two of her favourite carers. As you can see, Phoebe really blossoms during her off-site walks. She even bumped into ex holly hedge dog Benny and his family and Phoebe greeted Benny and was happy to stop for a chat. To find out more about Phoebe please see her profile: https://hollyhedge.org.uk/our-animals/rehome-a-dog/phoebe-romanian-crossbreed/
Lily arrived at Holly Hedge as stray, still a puppy we guessed her age and recorded her birthday as 1 August 2022 making Lily two years old today! Happy Birthday Lily!
Lovely Lily has the best bum wiggle when she is happy to see you. She has made enormous progress over the past few months and earlier this week one of her carers took her for a walk off site and she was given a glowing report!
”Lily was amazing. You wouldn't be believed if you told anyone about her 'mischievous’ side, she was perfect! We met a lady with her dog a couple of times and Lily waited so patiently, of course the woman complimented Lily on how well behaved she was. Hopefully she enjoyed the whole outing as much as she enjoyed rolling in the cow poo I didn't see.”
Lily would love to enjoy many more days out with her forever family, could that be you? 🐶❤
