Derek's Dog Walking Services

Derek's Dog Walking Services We offer daily group or solo dog walks. We are Derek and Sandra Moore and are based in Brislington, Bristol and cover South Bristol for Dog Walking.

The most mportant members of the business are our 2 Labradors called Toby and Teddy, and they like nothing more than welcoming doggy friends on our walks. We are fully insured, DBS checked and trained in pet first aid. The business has been established since February 2016 and up until the end of 2020 we were licensed home boarders for dogs, but due to our own dogs now being in their twilight years

we have decided it is time for them to have their home and family back to themselves. Walks are normally with other dogs that are suitably matched to walk as a group, but we can also provide solo walks if needed. Walks are usually where there are woods, fields and water as we find the dogs have so much fun, exercise and stimulation there. Numbers are imited to a maximum of 6 for a group walk but we mainly walk less to ensure every dog has the care and attention it needs.

A great bit of advice, especially after a dog lost their life being swept away in the Frome at S***f Mills a couple of days ago 😢 and that was before the torrential rain of yesterday.

In the last couple of evenings there have been posts coming thick and fast of dogs running scared from fireworks. And most years we end up with dog fatalities from this. The sad thing is the majority of these cases can be avoided if the necessary precautions are taken. Here is a great post that I just seen which pretty much outlines all those precautions. Let's keep our dogs safe ❤️❤️

When there is something on your walk that the dogs know wasn't previously there. They all approach with caution. None more so than Perz who decided to keep the furtherest distance away until me and the other dogs were right by it and she was confident enough to run over and join us.

Ted doing his physio exercises....which is walking backwards. As his hips and back legs are basically knackered he compensates by carrying most of his weight on his front legs so getting him to walk backwards makes him use his back legs more and helps keeps some muscle mass there.
