Derek's Dog Walking Services We offer daily group or solo dog walks. We are Derek and Sandra Moore and are based in Brislington, Bristol and cover South Bristol for Dog Walking.

The most mportant members of the business are our 2 Labradors called Toby and Teddy, and they like nothing more than welcoming doggy friends on our walks. We are fully insured, DBS checked and trained in pet first aid. The business has been established since February 2016 and up until the end of 2020 we were licensed home boarders for dogs, but due to our own dogs now being in their twilight years

we have decided it is time for them to have their home and family back to themselves. Walks are normally with other dogs that are suitably matched to walk as a group, but we can also provide solo walks if needed. Walks are usually where there are woods, fields and water as we find the dogs have so much fun, exercise and stimulation there. Numbers are imited to a maximum of 6 for a group walk but we mainly walk less to ensure every dog has the care and attention it needs.

Started the day with a solo walk with Rusty (Roo). The Frisbee puts his collie working brain in gear which helps him cope with his noise reactivity. When he is so focused on the Frisbee he can better manage the noises around him. We intersperse this with some training and scent work. Love this boy 😍

To say we are gutted is an under statement. Yesterday we lost another dog, the lovely Maisie, or Crazy Maisie as we knew her 💔💔😭😭. Her wonderful owners made the selfless decision to give her the dignified ending she deserved when they found out she had advanced cancer which could cause an internal bleed at any time. She is a dog that we have walked or boarded nearly all of her 9 years, so she is going to be greatly missed. We are so thankful that Maisie was able to join the group walk on Monday with some of her doggy friends she has known for years. Run free now Maisie 🌈 ❤️❤️

This is a hard post for me, but I want to pay tribute to the little man that stole a piece of my heart nearly 7 years ago when I first met him as a puppy. Dre, or Baby Dre as I called him, suddenly and unexpectedly passed away a couple of days ago 😭😭 💔💔.He was the first puppy I took on when I joined Derek in the business and I can't tell you how excited I was about it 😍 He was a little dog with a massive character and you just couldn't help but love him, even when he tried to ignore me when I turned up to take him out on walks on a wet day 😄.

Ramps and rugs. When you have elderly arthritic dogs you need to make your home as adaptable to their needs as possible. Slippery floors are covered with rugs and steps covered with ramps.

Yesterday's morning walk took a bit of a Jurassic Park turn 😆

Been a bit slack posting this week as it's been a busy one, but here is one of the lovely Ocean, a rescue Frenchie, that I'm walking while Jane Collins of Up Pup and Away is having a well deserved holiday.

Perz has missed her play mate, Poppy, since she moved to Cornwall but Storm has willingly stepped into that role 😄

My boys ❤️❤️ Tobes recall is as good as ever 😂 He hasn't actually got a lot of hearing left nowadays but can still hear the rustle of a food wrapper a mile away 😂

A walk with water today 💦

Love it that these two at the ripe old ages of 14 and 13 still like to have a play, even though Tobes can only do it sat down 😀

A bit of water play at Lords Woods with my gang and Jane Collins gang. Perfect for a warm afternoon.

Me and the dogs like to go off the beaten track and explore #lifeisanadventure

We had a shady walk back along the valley at Stockwood Vale so the dogs could dip in and out the stream and keep cool.

It's a poodle cross kinda day. Maisie the labradoodle, Bingo the cockapoo, Mabel the bernedoodle, Mabel the cavapoo and Periwinkle(Perz) the labradoodle. All had a great time together ❤️

Friday Fun

Our Saturday evening entertainment 😄

We had a wander down the bridleway at Felton Common today and came across a footpath gate that we just had to go through and explore.

The girls, Zelda, Perz, Lorrie and Storm enjoying a sniff and run through the grass, cowslips and dandelions at Manor Road Woods.

The old boys normally take it very slowly down the ramp, unless they are going to play 'find it' in the garden for pieces of turkey 😆

Ted's attempt to take Tobes out by headbutting him 🤦‍♀️😆 Happy Easter everyone.

Storm (the Collie) has had a 3 week break while she was in Season, but she's back and ready to play with Mabel, Zelda and Perry

Just love taking the dogs on walks where they have so much fun 💦

Today we had a bit of a change and went to Purdown/Stoke Park for a walk and a bit of goat watching 😄
