Meet Rita!👋🏼

I work at The Pet Studio as a receptionist on a part-time basis. I really enjoy meeting all the customers as they drop off their precious canine companions for a pampering session.

After the dogs have had a lovely shampoo and blow dry, I love watching the talented and skilled groomers work their magic by transforming their coats by clipping, sc******ng or hand stripping, taking into account the owners individual preferences. It’s so wonderful to watch the delighted faces of the owners when they come to collect their freshly groomed dogs.

I’ve owned gun dogs for many years and used to enjoy showing my golden retrievers at championship shows around the country. After a gap of 3 years without a furbaby my partner and I took on a little rescue dog called Daisy - she’s a Maltese who is our little princess. Unlike the Goldie’s I’ve owned before, Daisy doesn’t like cold wet weather, so is very much a lapdog and enjoys her pampering sessions at The Pet Studio 🐶

Huskies are beautiful, but their thick double coats require special care to keep them healthy and looking great! Here are our top grooming tips for your snow dog 🐺

✨ 1. Brush, Brush, Brush!
Huskies shed A LOT, especially during seasonal coat blows. Use an undercoat rake and a slicker brush 2-3 times a week (daily during shedding season) to keep their coat tangle-free and reduce loose fur.

🛁 2. Bathing – Less is More
Huskies have self-cleaning coats, meaning they don’t need frequent baths. Overbathing can strip natural oils - so aim for every 2-3 months or when absolutely necessary. Always use a gentle, dog-safe shampoo!

❄️ 3. NEVER Shave a Husky!
Their double coat helps regulate temperature in all seasons - shaving can damage it permanently and lead to overheating or sunburn. Regular brushing is the best way to keep them cool in summer!

🐾 4. Keep Those Paws in Check
Trim paw fur to prevent ice, dirt, or debris buildup. And don’t forget nail trims - active huskies may naturally wear them down, but regular checks are a must!

🦷 5. Ear & Teeth Care
