Hidden through the gate by the dipping pond is a beautiful kitchen garden. It’s trails are great for little ones to roam whilst exploring the variety of plants. They sell plant plugs of pretty much every vegetable and herb you can think of and all at reasonable prices. They even take card payments. I bought a basil and parsley plant as I’m fed up with shop ones dying on me. So 🤞. The team are super friendly and can help with any queries. If you haven’t visited yet, it’s defo worth a look. They’re open Mon-Thurs 9:30-16:00. Of course you are welcome to visit her and ask questions. We are open every day of the week from 9AM to 5PM. By the way... the Kid Goats on the surfboard video are from 2017. If you'd like to see the new #jedi goats surf, please donate a surfboard to St Werburghs City Farm. The kid goats will grow and eventually be slaughtered for meat. 🐣#AnimalUpdate: it''s spring and the cycle of life continues: a baby gosling and two duckies have arrived to the #CityFarm in #StWerburghs!!! More on them ⬇️ 📢 St Werburghs City Farm is now open every day of the week from 9AM - 5PM and St Werburghs City Farm Cafe is open this week Monday to Thursday from 10AM - 4PM (and yes, we are also both open on today's Monday holiday). 🥚 We got hold of some goose eggs but only one has hatched so far, so Farmer Bill rapidly got her a couple of baby duck companions so that she wouldn't be alone. 🐧 Just before that, the baby gosling's companion was a stuffed penguin, so naturally he's now "Penguin" the baby gosling, and very much happier with ducks to hang out with. 🦆 The three of them are now on site but you won't be able to see them just yet (birds are still in lockdown and these little ones need the warmth of some heating). 🐤🍎🍏 Farmer Bill will continue hatching more gosling eggs and the plan is to grow an orchard for them to patrol, by one of the paddocks. The males will become holiday meals and we'll continue caring for the females. 🤩 And in a couple of weeks everything will certainly feel different at St Werburghs City Farm. 🐷 🐐 There will be piglets, goat kids (yes, we got heavily pregnant goats on site) and who knows who else (or who won't). 🥓🥩 The piglets will grow and be slaughtered for meat in the Autumn. And the same will happen with the goat kids (later on in the year). 😮 So stay tuned and in the meantime, Crumble and Barley, the Nanny goats (Crumble is really nannyling), will really appreciate your visit ahead of giving birth. 🐔 And the chickens and ducks that remain in lockdown (which can be seen unlike the babies) are always thrilled to have companions (specially those who feed them - feed bags on site). 🐏 Rikkie the Ram and his friends also won't mind more company (from across the fence up in the paddock by the Bee Garden). Just make sure to not get in
