This lab technique is incredibly useful in helping us work out what kind of infection is down the ear and helps us decide which treatment is most appropriate.
Here, you can see this patient has a lot of yeast down their ears so we want to make sure our treatment is targeted to yeast overgrowth.
Signs of ear infections often include itchy ears, shaking the head, red and sore ears, smelly ears, gunky ears.
Sometimes we can see more severe signs if the ear infection is really bad. It is often very painful for the pet so we want to treat it as soon as possible.
