🐾 Meet Reg!🐾

Reg arrived at Bristol A.R.C. as a stray, and although he can be a bit shy at first, once you’ve earned his trust, he transforms into a loving snuggle buddy.

Reg would thrive in a quiet, patient home with kind-hearted people who understand his need to build trust slowly. If you’re looking for a special companion and have extra love and patience to give, Reg might just be the purr-fect match for you! 💙🐱

Meet Bunny!🐶

This bundle of joy is ‘Bunny’ by name and bunny by nature. She’s very light on her feet and loves to spring off of things to give you the bounciest, friendliest and happiest greeting you’ve ever received!

Young and excitable Bunny is very very intelligent and thrives when doing her training. She will do anything for a tasty snack and very much enjoys trying new training activities. Being so eager to please and a food-lover, this makes it fun for everyone involved. Her carers say she picks up new tricks incredibly fast and her focus skills are on point! To keep this smart cookie entertained, you will need to be happy to play games, do activities and partake in training sessions to keep her mind busy.

If you'd like to find out more please visit her profile: https://www.bristolarc.org.uk/pets/bunny/

It’s Trustees’ Week! 🌟

We want to take a moment to thank all our trustees for their contributions and commitment. Today, we’d love to introduce you to one of them – Victoria Farrelly!

'I have been a Trustee at Bristol Animal Rescue Centre for just over 2 years now and have absolutely loved contributing to this amazing organisation. My expertise and skills are in corporate psychology, HR, strategy, and change management - all of which I have enjoyed using to support the incredible work everyone at Bristol Animal Rescue Centre is doing everyday. One of the focus areas for me this year as a Trustee was supporting the employee engagement survey, a project I thoroughly enjoyed collaborating with Head of People & Organisational Services on. Of course, along with all the other Trustees, there is a large focus on using our business acumen to support the strategic direction and financial stability of the centre - these will always be a critical aspect for us.

As a psychologist, I am passionate about supporting our amazing people at Bristol Animal Rescue Centre and I look forward to continuing to contribute to this going forward.'

It’s Trustees’ Week! 🌟

We want to take a moment to thank all our trustees for their contributions and commitment. Today, we’d love to introduce you to the chair of Trustees – Jane Snow!

'I have been a trustee with Bristol Animal Rescue Centre for three and a half years now and chair of trustees for the last eighteen months. I am now retired and being a trustee has given me the opportunity to use and share the business skills I acquired in my prior career, targeted towards the care and support of animals.

As a trustee, our role is to ensure that the centre is governed appropriately to deliver our charitable aims and in accordance with the guidelines issued by the Charity Commission. This involves providing support and oversight to the management team in the delivery of our services and strategy.

I am very proud that our services are significantly increasing the help and impact we are having for animals and their carers in Bristol.

Being involved with Bristol Animal Rescue Centre is very rewarding and seeing the fantastic work our talented teams do to support the recovery and healing of animals is awe inspiring.'

Meet Pickle!🌟

This sweet and friendly boy is searching for a special forever home! While Pickle may be small and delightful, he’s looking for experienced owners who will understand his needs. Pickle does not have much experience with the big wide world and can find it quite daunting at times, but with gentle reassurance and guidance, he will give so much in return.

Pickle adores soft toys and loves nothing more than cuddling up with his humans. He can spend hours by your side, soaking up all the attention! 🥰

In the comfort of home, Pickle can be quite vocal, barking at things that make him feel uneasy. For this reason, he would thrive in a quiet environment to help ease his worries. When out and about, he may also express himself vocally around other dogs and strangers, so continued training will be essential.

This energetic little Terrier loves long walks and adventures—he's always ready to explore! 🌳🚶‍♂️ If you enjoy spending time outdoors, Pickle would be the perfect companion to join you on your journeys.

With the right love and understanding, Pickle’s true personality will shine bright. He’s already a favourite among our staff, and we know he’ll bring so much joy to the right home.

If you think you could be the one to give Pickle the loving environment he needs, please visit his profile: https://www.bristolarc.org.uk/pets/pickle/

Let’s help this wonderful little man find his happily ever after! 🐾❤️

Meet Dennis, our big-hearted gentle giant! 🐾

This bundle of love has a smile that stretches from ear to ear, and he’s looking for his forever home! Dennis is perfect for anyone who loves adventure and staying active. 🏞️❤️

Dennis has a playful side too! He’s a toy enthusiast, especially when it comes to sturdy toys like nylabones and Kongs. Soft toys? They don’t stand a chance! 😂 Dennis dreams of a big toy box filled with durable toys to keep him entertained and happy.

Though Dennis is as friendly as they come, he can be a little anxious. He may get along with another medium-to-large dog, pending a successful meet-and-greet here at Bristol A.R.C.

Could you be the one to give Dennis the loving he’s been waiting for? 🏠💙 Check out his profile here: https://www.bristolarc.org.uk/pets/dennis/

It’s Trustees’ Week! 🌟

This week, we’re celebrating the incredible work of our trustees, who help guide and support Bristol A.R.C. behind the scenes. Trustees are vital to the success of any charity, bringing invaluable expertise, advice, and dedication to support our mission and help us achieve our goals.

We want to take a moment to thank all our trustees for their contributions and commitment. Today, we’d love to introduce you to one of them – Simon Cheetham!

Simon Cheetham, 'I have an interest in animal welfare and have been fortunate to own a couple of wonderful dogs who have been so important to me in my life. This was the starting point of wanting to contribute, I then felt that with my professional experiences, I could add some value as a trustee which in turn helps support Bristol Animal rescue centre, even if just in a small way. I felt being a trustee was something I wanted to do and did not think or look any further than Bristol ARC, It felt a perfect fit for me.

It’s great to volunteer but it should not be ignored how much you can personally learn and develop from this opportunity and I feel it has made me grow in my day job.'

Watch our socials as we spotlight more of the wonderful individuals who make our work possible. 💙

Jax was found early one morning, tied to a post. He’d spent the night trying to chew through his lead, desperate to break free. He arrived at our door, shut down and exhausted. He had no energy left to walk and had to be carried in. The moment he came through our doors was the moment he would finally receive all the loving care he deserved.

Jax has now found a loving home but many more animals need our help.

Watch Jax's story and find out more at https://www.bristolarc.org.uk/donate/rescuejoy/

Fireworks can be exciting for us, but for our pets, it can be a stressful time. Loud noises, bright flashes, and unexpected booms can be overwhelming for our furry friends.

Please watch this video for practical tips on how to prepare your pets for firework night.

Our Story

We’ve been caring for the city’s pets and wildlife since 1887, helping, healing and homing over 14,000 vulnerable animals each year. We are the oldest and largest local animal charity, and although we are proud to be affiliated with the RSPCA, we receive no automatic funding from it. We rely entirely on local support within the community to fund our vital work.
