Black Cat Video.mp4
It's time we introduced you to some very adorable residents at Bristol A.R.C. 🐾 ❤️
Did you know that many black cats end up in rescue and are the last to be adopted? Will you show our black cats some appreciation and join us in loving all cats, regardless of their fur colour.
If you want to help, we are looking for foster carers. Those who can take on struggling small animals, dogs, and adult cats too as well as those with a spare room to give animals a private, quiet space are ideal. In particular, some of our nervous dogs would also benefit from homes with no existing pets or young children.
To find out more about fostering and how to apply visit our website link here https://buff.ly/493yKb6
We're not just here for dogs and cats! Our on-site clinic also cares for injured and ill local wildlife, like this little hoglet that came to us recently. 🦔
We act as a triage center, aiming to return animals to their natural habitats. If they need longer care, we transfer them to local wildlife specialists once they're stable.
By donating to Bristol A.R.C., you're helping more than just dogs, cats, and small animals—you’re also supporting local wildlife in need - https://buff.ly/3WEtSEa

Our long stay, Guy, has recently made amazing progress with his training. He had a playdate with Mogi, where he was calm and playful, a huge milestone for him, considering he would have previously needed support to interact with another dog.
Guy has been in kennels quite a while and is really looking for a sofa to call his own. Watch this space to see if we can soon update his profile to ‘able to live with another dog’. Guy happily wears a muzzle if he needs to and sometimes feels happier with it on when he is out and about.
Here is a poem we wrote about Guy's situation -
Here’s a very special dog, his name is Guy,
He flits and floats but can he fly?
“Where’s my home?” He asks himself,
“Have I been left on the shelf?”
Oh no dear Guy, don’t think that way!
Listen to what we have to say….
You are a star that shines so bright,
Every day you do just right.
Those hugs you give just beat the rest,
Those gentle nudges are just the best.
We know your home is not far away,
Could it be that we hear today?
We’ll keep you posted dearest Guy,
It soon will be your chance to fly!
Could you give Guy the chance to fly (out of here), apply today - https://buff.ly/3LaJafo

🐾 June is National Foster a Pet Month 🐾
We want to highlight Mia's journey and how fostering has helped her.
Mia came to us very shut down and scared. However, she has made remarkable progress within just two weeks in her foster home. She's started coming out of her shell, showing her playful side, and is now enjoying affection – a huge milestone for her.
Mia's transformation is a testament to the power of fostering. Providing a temporary, loving home can make a world of difference for animals like Mia. We're thrilled to see her blossom, and she's now ready for her forever home.
Could you be the one to give Mia the loving home she deserves? Reach out to us to learn more about Mia and our fostering programme - https://buff.ly/493yKb6

Flipper video.MOV
Flipper was found as a stray on Airport Road in Bristol, at just a year old, Flipper has carpal hyperextension that affects the wrists and occurs in young dogs, which is commonly found in foals.
With the help of our veterinary and animal care team, Flipper is now wearing braces on his front legs when being exercised 4x a day, as well as having 3-5 sessions of physio to help him mend his little flippers as soon as possible.
He has adapted well to his new environment and is a very sweet boy, considering everything he has endured in his short life.
This is just one example of the amazing work that goes on behind the scenes at Bristol A.R.C. Without our team, Flipper's condition would have gotten far worse over time.
Join us in wishing Flipper a speedy recovery. 🍀

Masha & Martha music.MOV
Here's Masha enjoying some play time in the sensory garden with Martha to brighten up your Wednesday morning. 🌞
Masha came to us severely matted, unable to see through her long fur-fringe. Sadly, we suspect her previous care has led her being quite nervous of new people. Since we’ve removed her painful matts and gave her a good groom, her temperament has improved and she can see us much better now.
Whilst she may still be wary of new people, given the right amount of time and patience, she slowly starts to warm up to you. She will need a home that is willing to continue her training so her confidence can blossom.

When Ginny and Hermione first arrived with us, they hid under toys and didn't interact with anyone for weeks.
Since being in foster care and spending some quiet time with our animal care team and volunteers, they have begun to gain confidence. Their foster carer said:
''They're coming out of their hide more and seem to be more comfortable about their surroundings. We love seeing their curious little noses poking out when we come into their room, seeing their confidence grow has been very special.'
Ginny and Hermione are looking for a permanent home to feel calm and settled in, if you think you could give these girls a brighter future, register your interest here - https://buff.ly/3ueLOLG

Our Caring for Cats Appeal is closing soon, and we're hoping to receive donations to transform our cattery into a more welcoming and safe environment for every cat that arrives in our care, especially for those who have come from a traumatic past or an unsafe environment.
Our cattery doors, installed in 1992, have served countless cats over the years. But now, it's time for an upgrade! It is your compassion and generosity that enable us to support the cats that come into our care, providing them with the safety and security they so desperately need and deserve. By contributing to our Caring for Cats appeal, you're guaranteeing that every cat that comes through our doors will have a living space that matches the love and attention they receive from our dedicated team.

Kitten appeal video.mov
These kittens were discovered in a box outside a hospital alongside their mother when they were just 2 weeks old, so young they had barely begun to open their eyes.
Upon their arrival at our centre, our remarkable veterinary team conducted thorough check-ups and closely monitored their health and safety. Sadly, their situation is all too common, highlighting the ongoing issue of animal abandonment in Bristol.
That's why our Caring for Cats Appeal is so essential. We're dedicated to upgrading our cattery to provide a more nurturing and secure environment for every cat, especially those with troubled backgrounds who may be timid.
The current cattery doors, installed in 1992, have served countless cats well, but it's time for an upgrade. Your kindness and generosity allow us to offer the safety and stability these cats deserve. Rusty was brought into our care by the RSPCA over concern for his welfare, he is very timid and prefers his own company due to past neglect or trauma.
He was placed in foster care with a member of staff and this space and one-on-one care has allowed him to slowly blossom and become less afraid of humans. He's becoming more adventurous and even enjoys playful moments, especially with 'fishing rod' toys. Though he may be shy, Rusty's love for food can help build trust and encourage human interaction.
Rusty is a great example of how crucial fostering is for animals that have experienced neglect or trauma, it provides a safe space for them to heal and gradually build confidence - something that may be more difficult for them in the rescue centre environment.

In the spirit of love today, we're excited to share a heart warming story that shows the power of care and affection in an animal's life. 💓
Meeko arrived to us as a stray at just 14 weeks old. Fending for himself at such a young age had affects on his health, he had lost most of his fur - causing sore skin and a swollen leg.
Weak and afraid, a staff member took him to their home on foster as we worried about his stress levels in the kennel environment. With just two months between these images, you can see how much love and care has accelerated his recovery. He has now been adopted and is at his healthiest and happiest with his new sausage dog friends.
Please, if you can, consider donating today to ensure we can continue to save lives like Meeko's - https://buff.ly/3WEtSEa
