Further to the above post from the other week, today one of my customers pulled this ball of cheese out of her dogs mouth in Greenbank cemetery which had tramadol tablets in it. This was reported to the police.
Very disturbing that somebody would want to harm dogs in this way. Please share with any dog owners locally 😢.
We will avoiding any dog walks in Greenbank Cemetery for now which is a real shame but it seems very risky, particularly for dogs which go off lead and
so is harder to take food off them in time.

English bulldog lost today around the Greenbank area of Bristol

I have just received a phone call from a lady who’s dog has just escaped and ran off from their home earlier today in Greenbank.
He is an in neutered X L English bulldog Sandy coloured body and half grey /sandy face. He has a black colour but no number on the colour however he is micro chipped.

Warning to all dog owners and walkers to be vigilant about antifreeze which is highly toxic even fatal to dogs if even just a tiny amount is ingested!
Please wash dogs paws after any likely contact on walks to prevent them from licking off this colorless, odorless, sometimes sweet tasting substance!

This intense heat we’re having today can be unbearable or even dangerous for dogs!
This called for drastic measures to be taken today as below to ensure doggy daycare is as close to a cool haven for dogs as possible!!
* Paddling pool and sprinkler treatment every time out in the back garden.
*The coolest place to be was inside with the fan going constantly and mopping down dogs with water all over, including legs and tail! (basically keeping the dogs wet at all times!
*No walk in this heat as can be dangerous for dogs.
*Ice cubes in the water bowl.

A warning to dog walkers - I heard today a report of possible blue-green algae being found at s***f mills over the weekend. (highly toxic even fatal to dogs and people) - This hasn’t been officially confirmed but best to be vigilant for signs of it in the water.

Our Dogs really do suffer in this heat! - Particularly the more dark and fluffy ones!
We are taking extra measures to keep the dogs cool at doggy day care! Including frozen carrot sticks to chew, ice cubes in their water and to play with. Dogs are regularly sprayed gently with water, and damped down with wet cloths, the fan kept on all day inside and back door open..
