Our first full day CPD event in a while is underway! It is great to have such a full room with lots of questions and conversations. Lots of learning. Nothing beats local CPD for meeting up with old friends and making new 😀.

Hello to Rita Gervasio 👋. Rita has joined us as an intern in the ophthalmology department at Rowe Referrals. Rita caught the 'eye bug' whilst working as an equine vet, we are delighted to have her join us here to support us treat animal's eyes and for us to support her as she about takes the step of working full time in ophthalmology 👀. Arrow was born without a large part of his upper eyelids (eyelid agenesis). Without the protection of eyelids there is an increased risk of corneal damage and exposure, rubbing hairs from the face can also become irritating.
We made new eyelids for Arrow by moving some of his upper lip up to his eye, a procedure called lip-to-lid transposition.
He now looks very handsome I think you will agree - he literally smiles with his eyes 😄

Welcome to Savina Gogova DVM DipECVO MRCVS who joined us in January. Savina completed her residency at Barcelona and has been working at various hospitals in the UK since.
As well as helping with our caseload Savina, is going to further develop and lead our internship programme in ophthalmology, making it the very best we can offer.
