It's a misconception that plecs are solely algae eaters and will be a clean up crew for you. Unfortunately (or fortunately, depending on how you look at things) they're not a replacement to you cleaning your aquarium. As this video demonstrates, plecs will happily enjoy a blood worm treat, and will thrive given a varied diet. We always say that plecs are a fascinating addition to an aquarium, but don't rely on them to 'clean' the aquarium.

This Goby is loving hanging out in its shell! These dwarf Gobies are really interesting to keep. They are from Lake Mantano on Sulawesi. In their natural habitat they will inhabit empty Tylomelania shells, but don't use them exclusively. In a home aquarium plenty of small caves would also do the job.

There's some small hidden gems in our tanks! These Annie's Gobies may be small, but the colours and patterns on them are amazing. Annie's gobies are naturally from fast flowing streams, and feed on algae and biofilm. Peaceful tank mates are a must so that they aren't out competed for food.
