Happy International Womans Day 🙌🙌

But in particular, happy super woman Day to my amazing mother 🥰

People ask me where I get my strength and resilience from, well, it from this lady right here!!

Today, my mum coped with SOO many uncontrollable factors and still picked herself up, got on her horse, and rode like a pro, and I'm so incredibly proud of her 🫶🫶

I can't go into full details about the events that happened today, but they would have left any person traumatised and shaken.

Mum, you're amazing, and my superhero ❤️

Another qualifying score under your belt, under extreme stress and drama 💪💪

Late to the regional post. It was a long week, with early starts and late finishes with a few trials and tribulations thrown into the mix. But Pam Murphy 's the Murphy brothers had a fantastic time putting their best hoof forward, and I'm so proud of them 🥰

The first few days saw the boys settle into the championship environment, with a little excitement and some flying changes thrown into the mix we didn't manage to get into the placings 😄

But then both boys pulled it out of the bag in their higher level classes, that both of them have not long stepped up to and still green at these levels 🙌🙌

🧡 U - Gino, aka Big G, danced his way to 4th in the advanced medium freestyle 🫶 The judges loved our Gino- bublè music beautifully made by Liz Flint

🤎 Ramanos AKA Manny came 2nd in his medium with a direct qualification through to the finals 💪😱

We are keeping everything crossed for a wild card for the advanced medium 🤞🤞

I've been a bit quiet on the posting front recently.

This winter has been long and hard on multiple fronts, but the show must go on, and we have been working hard behind the scenes with our regional preparation for next week!! 😱

I'm so very lucky to have the most amazing and supportive sponsors who are always on hand for help and advice.

As important it is to prepare our horses for competition it's equally important to prepare ourselves.
A few years ago, Ahead For Sport told me to do this simple technique to fully know, understand, and how I want my test to ride and feel. Helping me to adapt my test riding to each individual horse I ride.

2024, what a year you have been 👌

A year of Dreams coming to life 🫶
With some Drama shoved into the mix 🙈

We've welcomed new people and horses, and said some goodbyes to some special people, though not true goodbyes as they never get rid of us that easily 😉

This year has taught me so much. Most of all to just live life in the present more. Take in all those special days and celebrate them 🤗

Well, last weekend saw us wrap up 2024 with our last competitions of the year, and Pam Murphy 's, the Murphy Brothers smashed it out of the park, with 5 wins 🏆 and all personal best scores 👏

First up Manny, finished his Elementry Gold qualification with a double win, and 2x personal best scores of +71% and +72% 🙌🙌

Not only this, he kept his composure and focus (more so than than the camera man, who got more distracted!🤣) whilst a loose horse was having a great time flying near our arena and warm up 😱 thank you Equine Exceed calmer bites.

"IT'S NOT WHAT IT TRAVELS IN,
IT'S WHAT TRAVELS WITHIN!"

A beautiful quote my father taught me a long time ago.
When my mother and I wanted a newer, posher lorry to do our stay away shows with.

My father's reaction was to stick a sign on our current lorry with the saying above.

Fast forward 15 years.

18 months ago, I bought on a whim and a prayer with all the budget I could muster this lorry.

Her name is "Ethal"

She is a 1989 layland Daf who had sat in storage for numerous years.

I needed a new box to fit the bigger horses in and one that had the layout with the horses comfort in mind, and being the old, battered lorry she was, she ticked all my boxes.

So I took a leap of faith, paid the £4k for her, and spent a further £2k to get her through a plaiting.
My whole budget is gone. On a lorry a knew nothing about, or how she would perform.

Her maiden voyage was to Bicton summer regionals last year!
A fair milage for an old girl who has been sitting up for a fair few years, but she drugged on like a trooper, though encredibly loudly!

This is where the name "Ethal" came from.
We decided she was in her 80's, seen the cival war, smoked 50 a day and drank like a gold fish, but had the good old British, bull dog spirit.
And boy, she hasn't proved us wrong.

In the last 18 months, this old girl has travelled the length and breadth of Britain numerous times, never letting us down!!

Don't get me wrong, we travelled all last winter with no heating 🥶🥶

We finally got the heating sorted to travel most of the summer with the heating permanently on 🥵🥵

All sorted now 😅🤣

We have no living.....at all bar a chair and a toilet 🙌 she is battered and old, her paint is peeling, but she has been a trooper and has given us so much fun, laughter along our travels.

The moral of the story is that,
Never judge a book by its cover.
