We are all so very sad this morning after receiving heartbreaking news last night that Oakley has crossed the rainbow bridge 🌈 he was one of all our favourites and was a fantastic character. From his little squeaks to kangaroo jumping and head bonks we will miss him coming to stay with us 💔 RIP Oakley boy 🤍🕊️

*REHOMING POST* *PLEASE SHARE *

We have a very special handsome boy that needs rehoming- his name is Marley! He has been in the cattery for nearly 8 months but sadly the owner is still not in a position to have Marley so has agreed for us to find him a forever loving home 🏡

He is estimated to be around 11 years old and his vaccine booster is due in November, he is NOT chipped so any owner will need to pay and get this done. He is a very loving boy but unfortunately does not like other cats so will need to be an only cat (this is a must) he’s not shown any aggression apart from at the very start he was a little hissy but calmed down very quickly and shows no signs of any aggression just loves fuss and food. Food is his favourite, especially wet food he prefers Whiskas but he’s really not fussy! He likes to sit on laps and loves rubbing his head on shoes.

He does have a few needs.. one is he has thyroid medicine (Thyronorm) 2.5ml in his wet food AM & PM but he LOVES wet food so is very easy to take and it costs around £57 per month for this medicine. He is litter trained and NEVER toilets outside of his tray but he would potentially need a covered litter tray as he can sometimes miss with his wee however this could just be as he’s in a cattery and being territorial.

He has been flea’d every month with us and we have some spare treatments that he can take home with him. (14th July and 14th August are his next due flea treatments) He also has a new bottle of Thyronorm to go home with too (we may need to use some depending on how long he is with us for)

He was used to being an indoor cat but ideally we would like him to have a catio or a garden to be able to have a little roam if he wishes once he’s settled in. As he’s been with us for so long he MUST stay inside for 4-6 weeks before any outdoor setting (unless a safe catio) is introduced to him.

We all absolutely love Marley here at Laxey Cattery and we will miss him dearly so we will be ensuring he gets the best possible home as he deserves it. He’s been our special resident and we will all be sad but glad to see him go 🖤

** Polite notice **

We are currently having some work done on run 6 (the very end of our cattery) this does mean we are currently operating at a reduced capacity however we estimate the work should be completed by the end of May and will be back to full capacity for summer. This does mean that there will be slightly more noise than usual at times but we need to maintain the cattery before the busy summer begins. Hope you can all understand but if anyone would like to cancel any bookings in May for this reason, please just let us know! 🐾 🐱

Summer job vacancy!! 🔆 🐾 🐱

We are looking for an enthusiastic person to join our team part time over this summer (6-20 hours a week/ May- September) with a high possibility of overtime available and potential continued work after September.

This person must be hard working, flexible with hours, be able to speak confidently with customers but most importantly have a strong passion and be confident with all breeds/personalities of cats 😻

Weekends WILL be included so please do not apply if you cannot do weekends. Hours do consist of a mix of morning & afternoon shifts so transport will be essential as we are not near any bus stops 🚗

We open/feed cats 7 days a week all year so we are looking for someone with the right attitude and willing to work over busy times too!

We’ve had some sad news last week, two of our regular lovely guests have crossed the rainbow bridge 🌈 Saphi & Gizmo. Both unique characters and we will all miss them massively here at Laxey. Always been a pleasure looking after them. RIP purrfect angels, sending lots of paws and purrs to the families 💙 🐾 🩷

Merry Crisp Mouse everypawdy 🎄🐾 Everyone must’ve been on the nice list as Santa Paws has delivered dreamies to our residents this morning 🎅🏻 They were all singing Christmas carols this morning to meet us (or so they said). Breakfast has been served so they are all resting before dinner. They told us they weren’t having a pawty tonight after hours but Wh**ey the boss cat has told us otherwise. Pawsecco has been delivered! 🥂

From all of us at Laxey we wish you all a restful Christmas and New Year. Thank you for continuing to support us and we hope to see you all soon, we also apologise for anyone we weren’t able to accommodate this Christmas.

*REHOMING POST*
Meet Rosie & Fudge 🩷💙

We have two lovely kitties staying with us that sadly due to their lovely owner passing away we now need to find them a new purrfect and loving forever home. I have promised that they will stay together so they will NOT be separated and come as a pair! Both are 8 years old in December this year. Fudge is a neutered male DSH and Rosie is a neutered Female DMH. Both are due their booster jab in the next 2 months or will require a restart.

They are both VERY friendly and loving cats. Fudge is a bit more shy but absolutely loves head bonks whereas Rosie is very confident and very inquisitive. They both like wet and dry food and I’m sure with enough time to settle in their new home would then be okay with being allowed to roam outdoors but I wouldn’t recommend this for at least 1-2 months as they’ve been through a lot and been with us for a few weeks now too.

Both are litter trained, none are on medication currently for anything and are in good general health and both are used to dogs and older children! But ideally a quieter home the better for them both.

We are awaiting the vaccination booklets to be dropped off to us which will have more information and their microchip numbers in too so they can also be changed with their new pawrents 🐾

They can be visited with us at Laxey if you’d like to meet them first but only if you are seriously interested in taking care of them to save any more confusion to them 🫶🏼 🐾

*PRICE CHANGE 2024*

From 1st January 2024, our prices will be increasing for only the second time in 8 years. We’re aware of how much our clients support us and our business and we appreciate that you will understand the reason for the price increase which is why we’ve made the decision now, so that we’re able to give you as much notice as possible.

As you know, we only increased our prices by £1 during 2022 and sadly, due to the constant inflation of the cost of living crisis, unfortunately we have no choice but to increase our prices again to ensure that we can keep the cattery running as a whole and especially at the 5* service we strive to keep with also improvements that we have planned.

If the increase does affect any bookings you have with us during 2024 and you would like to amend/cancel your booking, please feel free to privately message us.
