ANNOUNCEMENT: We’re going BIG. With only a few weeks of 2025 left (where has the year gone?!), we’re excited to share our goal going into 2026 with you...

The 13 MILLION BOTTLE MISSION

Together with the Pet Impact community, we’re on a mission to recover 13 million bottles’ worth of ocean-bound plastic by the end of 2026 - one for every dog in the UK.

To hit this goal, all Pet Impact products now fund the active recovery of ocean-bound plastic!

Will you join this movement with us?

Myth vs Fact: Does dog poo fertilise the land?

It’s a common misconception that dog poo can be a natural fertiliser. While it is organic, it’s not the kind of nutrient boost our environment needs (or wants).

Dog waste contains high levels of nitrogen and phosphorus, and these levels are much more than plants can handle - it actually damages soil health that leads to disruption of plant growth and can even reduce biodiversity.

So let’s not leave dog poo uncollected - let’s bag it and bin it for healthier soil and happier walks!

Did you know? Toxocariasis is caused by roundworm eggs found in dog faeces. These eggs can survive in the environment for months and potentially lead to serious health problems in people, causing fever, dizziness, coughing or even vision loss.

This is just one of the public health risks caused when we leave our dog’s poo uncollected!

Please always bag and bin your dog’s poo.

Behind these poo bags is a story. It started with a question: "Why am I using a compostable product that won't be composted?"

Like every other dog owner, we wanted to do right by our planet. But compostable “cornstarch” poo bags aren’t the eco-friendly answer they’ve been marketed to be.

So, we created a better poo bag, using real data and evidence. A better poo bag that makes a true, measurable positive impact, on every dog walk.

Did you know?

Even the tiniest bit of dog poo could be carrying harmful bacteria, parasites and viruses!

When dog waste is left on the ground, such pathogens can potentially spread to wildlife, farm animals, other dogs and even people.

By bagging & binning our dog's poo, we not only create cleaner walks, we are also preventing the spread of diseases.

South Africa, home of the world's largest rhino population, loses hundreds of rhinos to poaching every year. Their horns are exported to Asian markets where they are used as a traditional medicine and sold as a status symbol.

After six years of research, the Rhisotope Project led by a group of researchers at Wits University is now officially operational as of August 2025. This initiative injects small non-lethal doses of radioactive isotopes into rhino horns to make them detectable at airports and borders, and reducing their value on the black market.

Would you support more high-tech solutions like this to protect endangered species?

Often, we see the main reason of picking up our dogs poo as so it won’t be in people’s way or be a nuisance to the public. But there are other deeper, indirect harms dog poo can cause to our environment if not disposed of appropriately... ☠️

That’s why it’s crucial that we always Bag It & Bin It.

These butterflies depend on specific host plants like sallow for their life cycle. Rewilding at Knepp has enabled natural habitats to regenerate, creating the diverse vegetation needed for the species to thrive. This success shows how ecological restoration supports
species recovery and broader
environmental stability.
