WORMS!!
Please remember it is important to keep on top of your dogs flea and worming regime, whichever treatment you choose to use. But also make sure the treatment you use covers lung worm aswel. A lot of wormers don’t cover lung worm, which is becoming increasingly more common.
Today I have sadly had the awful news that last week, little Roxy lost her fight against a lung worm infestation. She was only a year old, and has left her family devastated. She had been treated for worms, but lung worm was not covered unbeknown to her owner, and she showed no symptoms until it was too late.
Wormers are only a few £’s, and can literally save your dogs life. If you are unsure if your wormer covers everything, ask your vet for advice- they will be happy to advise what to use in combination with their flea treatment, and will also tell you the correct dosage 😔 RIP little one… 💔 xx

With the big ‘C’ just around the corner, I am now completely fully booked until after Christmas for grooms.

As it is such a busy time of year, please give as much notice as possible if you can’t make your appointment to give me a chance to offer the space to someone that has missed out on an appointment pre-Christmas this year.
If you cancel within 24 hours of your appointment time, there will be a 50% charge of the groom price required before I can re-book another appointment for you. Many thanks for your support and understanding ❤️

What a heartbreaking week, this morning dear Angus also left the world behind as he went to sleep for the last time to join Cleo. 😢

Angus will always have a special place in my heart because back in 2015 he was the first dog to walk through my door when I started grooming. He even came to let me practise on him before I had completed my training at college, and has been every couple of months ever since. He was always so obliging, even if having his hair cut wasn’t his favourite pastime! Thank you to his mum and dad for always trusting me with him.
Sending much love to his whole family, who will miss him terribly. I will miss you Angus 💔 xx

This week brought the sad news that little Cleo has crossed the rainbow bridge. She was always so happy to come and see me, her tail didn’t stop wagging the whole way through her groom. Such a happy little soul who will be missed and leave such a big hole in her mum and dads life.

FLEAS!!

Please please please if your dog has fleas, don’t bring them for a groom until they have been eradicated!
I will have to insist all dogs coming in with large amounts of fleas will face an extra charge of £5.

I have spent so much extra time and money this year on picking out fleas, flea shampoo, and indorex spray to try and keep my grooming room flea free. My 4 dogs also pass through the room daily to go in and out of the garden, so they are receiving regular flea treatments to keep them flea free also.

This dog in the pictures was covered, the owner wasn’t aware she had fleas. If you zoom in on the pictures you can see lots of flea dirt in her coat, this is a sure sign your dog has fleas, along with lots of scratching and biting. It is very uncomfortable for them to be left and they will multiply rapidly.

There seems to be a National flea crisis at the moment, over the counter spot on treatments are not working, and often it seems nor are the prescription spot ons. If you think your dog has fleas, I would recommend using a tablet, such as Bravecto, which lasts for 3 months and seems to be the only reliable flea treatment at the moment. It won’t run the risk of being washed off if your dog likes swimming or you bath it.

This week has brought the sad news that dear old Lilly has gone to sleep for the very last time 🌈 💔
I was lucky enough to groom her for the last 4 years and will miss her visits.
She had an amazing life and was nearly 17, she was loved so much, a very lucky girl. I know that empty, broken feeling all too well so am sending her family lots of love ###
