Welcome to the world….
Let’s give a fond hello to this basket of cuteness which arrived last Saturday. Izzy was rescued recently by TAG and they discovered she would imminently be expecting these new arrivals.
Sadly Izzy’s birth was a difficult one and she needed assistance throughout which was provided by Team Briar!
Happily the end result was this bunch of healthy kits and a super attentive mum all moving onwards to finding new, secure and responsible homes.
Remember that neutering your pet has huge benefits in their health, behaviour and safety. Please call to discuss with our nursing team if you would like to know more about getting your pet neutered!

Cat is having its teeth cleaned by one of our wonderful vets!
Taking care of our pets’ teeth is as important as keeping our own teeth healthy! 🪥🦷
Did you know there’s a dental disease that’s so common it is found in more than a third of adult cats? It’s called FORL’s (Feline Oral Resorptive Lesion) featured in this video. This is when cells called odontoclasts start to destroy the surface of the tooth. It starts underneath the gum, making it very difficult to diagnose. It’s also very painful.

Happy Christmas to all our followers!! 🎄💚
Exceptional Enrico…
Here is our one of a kind Enrico - Enrico graduated from Camerino University in 2009 and joined Briar House in 2015 after undertaking his ESVPS’ (European School of Veterinary Postgraduate Studies) examination and obtaining his General Practitioner Certificate in Small Animal Surgery.
Enrico has built a fantastic portfolio of complex surgical procedures since qualifying, including TTA and TPLO procedures, complex fracture repairs, BOAS surgeries, soft tissue surgeries and patella luxations to name a few – there are very few cases that Enrico will not take on.
Although a terrific surgeon, Enrico is also proud to be a high level general medicine vet with many years experience in diagnosing and curing medical conditions that do not require surgery.
In his spare time he is a highly experienced falconer. He loves riding, spending time with his son Francesco, playing basketball, skiing, and motorcycling.
Irreplaceable Ilaria….
Ilaria achieved her Vet qualification in 2020. Having a desire for further studies, she rapidly achieved her first level Masters in canine and feline nutrition AND THEN a second level Masters in canine and feline clinical diet and clinical nutrition!! She is also now doing a course in nutritional management in small animal diseases AND an internal medicine certificate!! PHEW!!!
Ilaria loves general practice - especially cats! - and is our resident nutritionalist! She creates home cooked diets for a multitude of clinical conditions which have been super successful.
Outside of work, Ilaria spends time with her family, studies and looks after her very pampered felines!!
Excellent Eleonora….
Eleonora joined Team Briar in June 2023 and what an asset she has been! Eleonora graduated in 2020 from the University of Teramo in Italy and even studied in Spain and Finland during her degree!
Eleonora is currently doing a surgical certificate with Liverpool University - so adding yet another string to her bow!! Eleonora also enjoys feline medicine as she LOVES cats.
Eleonora is also super competitive! She can often be found participating in races and obstacle courses.
The lovely Leanne…
Leanne qualified from the RVC in 2010 and holds years of experience in general practice. She is a firm favourite with the pets of Broadstairs with her caring manner and superb knowledge.
Leanne has special interests in medicine, imaging and soft tissue surgery and is currently undertaking a post graduate certificate in complex imaging so our patients are in super experienced hands.
Leanne immensely enjoys being a part of our experienced hospital team, discussing and advising on complex cases being hospitalised within our popular surgery.
Outside of work, Leanne loves spending time with her family and enjoys pilates, ariel hoop and horse riding.
