We performed a dental on a lovely dog called Celli this week. This involved performing X-rays of the jaw to assess the tooth roots, as we can only see the tooth crowns on visual inspection.

As you can see on the X-ray below, this tooth crown looked normal without radiography. The X-ray however shows periapical periodontitis as seen by the black area on this image indicated by the arrow. The tooth was therefore extracted to prevent future issues ie. abscess.

We perform dental X-rays on all of our patients routinely at Riverside vets, and can therefore provide the very best gold standard care in every case. The X-ray shows the huge importance of performing dental radiography

Sadly there was an RTA involving a ginger and white cat on the main road outside the practice on Monday evening. The cat had sadly already passed by the time they arrived to the practice. He was an entire male, ginger and white with no microchip. We will hold him for 7 days to try and find his owner.
