Melissa Kalis Veterinary Physiotherapy has undergone a recent little update, a brand new logo! It was created off the images of Rosie and Bear who both inspired me to become a veterinary physiotherapist and also supported me through my time at university. I’m so happy to have such special animals in my life, so what better way to show my appreciation than to have them represent my business.🐶❤️🐴

Thank you G Hallam Creative!⭐️

The newest member of the MK vet physio team! Reggie the French bulldog!

As a physiotherapist I’ve always had a soft spot for French bulldogs, they have always been one of my favourite breeds of dogs to work with because of their cheeky nature! Reggie has fit right in with the family and is proudly making himself at home with Rosie.

French bulldogs are prone to certain medical conditions such as IVDD, luxating patella and breathing issues so having the knowledge on these conditions can help reduce the risk through age appropriate conditioning.

🐶Please get in touch if you have a new puppy and are looking for some age appropriate exercises (physiotherapy isn’t just for old or injured animals!)🐶

⭐️super star Phillip⭐️

Philip the point to pointer enjoyed his treatment and had multiple big releases during the session! Phil’s treatment involved a mix of massage, laser therapy, and heat therapy to help reduce some of the tension he’s built up

On top of Phil enjoying his massage his owner also has some homework for him and Phil to help improve some of Phil’s muscle mass

Please PM me if you’d like to get your horse booked in for a treatment 🥰

🐎Is your horse ready for the competition season?🐎

As a vet physio we not only help with rehab but we also help ensure your horses musculoskeletal system is ready for the competition season ahead!

This is done through observing posture, analysing gait, and a thorough palpation of joints and muscles. We can then provide a targeted treatment and home exercises to aid in creating a horse ready to preform at their best

Currently accepting new clients on Mondays and weekends. Please get in touch if you would like to get booked in!

⚡️ELECTROTHERAPIES⚡️

A common term used by therapists to describe a therapy that uses electrical energy to aid in their treatment

What falls under electrotherapies?
⚡️laser therapy (to treat pain and inflammation)
⚡️TENS (to treat pain)
⚡️ heat pads (to treat pain and muscle stiffness)

There are plenty more, but all of the therapies mentioned above are available treatment options with me!

⭐️veterinary physiotherapy⭐️

A science based profession where a holistic approach is used to provide a functional assessment of an animal which can then be used alongside veterinary medicine to aid in the treatment or longterm management of conditions

Some of the common conditions that are seen by veterinary physiotherapists:
🌟osteoarthritis
🌟tendon and ligament injuries
🌟equine kissing spines (overriding or uni gong dorsal processes)
🌟Post operative rehabilitation (just like Duke in the below photos, he was successfully rehabilitated following surgery for his luxating patella)

Hey, I’m Melissa and have just started my page for my veterinary physiotherapy business.
I own two horses and a dog; Cali who’s featured here, Bear and a dog named Rosie, they’re my world and part of the reason I got interested in vet physio in the first place! We’ve got lots of time for me to go through my animals and their abundance of medical issues, so give my page a follow and I’ll share the stories of my animals and what I do day to as a vet physio!
