This holiday cottage will be absolutely stunning and is properly dog friendly; your dogs can even sleep on the bed with you ( provided you bring your own bed linen).

I honestly don’t care if a dog can sit at the side of the road before crossing, walk to heel, give paw before getting a treat.

What I really care about is whether the dog is free of stress, is comfortable physically, copes with the world, is happy to communicate and knows their human listens, because those of the foundations of a happy life.

This special, special boy is now reserved 😍 He is so lucky to be going to the most wonderful spaniel savvy home, where I know he will be cherished and adored. He has the sweetest nature of possibly any spaniel pup I’ve ever met. He is so lucky to be joining their family and they are going to love watching him grow.
P.S. The best bit is he’s staying in the Fur Crate Escapes family! 👀😍🤫🤭 So he can still come for sleepovers with his bro and Auntie Michy and Uncle Phil will get to watch him grow up too!
This is such a result all round. Over the moon ❤️

This boy is looking for his forever home. He’s Barley’s full brother. He’s 8 weeks old KC registered, microchipped and first vaccinations done. Wonderful parents and a completely bomb proof pup. He’s a very gentle, steady cuddly dude and oh so gorgeous 🥰🥰🥰

We’ve had lots of messages today from our wonderful clients checking when we think it’s safe for them to take their doggies out for a walk.
We hope this chart helps.
If your dog is a very large breed, elderly, overweight or a flat faced breed you need to be especially careful.
Look at the temps, most healthy adult dogs will be ok with walks early in the morning or late at night ( after sunset).
If you aren’t sure then don’t walk them. No dog dies from missing a walk but some do die from walks in the heat.
They will be totally fine missing a few days of walks to keep them safe.
Enjoy the sunshine and big cuddles to all those dogs we haven’t seen this week, we miss you and can’t wait to see you when it’s cooler next week 💖

My Bestie Emily is now accepting bookings for dog walks over in Broadheath- Worcester.
She is one of only 3 people in the whole world I would leave my dogs with, I cannot recommend her highly enough.

Impending heatwave
Due to the extreme heat forecast this week there will be some disruption to walkies.
If you are home with your dog we may need to cancel your walk as we will have a limited time window to walk dogs who are home alone.
Please expect your time window for walkies to be significantly earlier than usual.
We will under no circumstances put dogs at risk and if we feel it’s too hot we will of course offer a pop in service instead if they are home alone.
The weather forecast changes on a day to day basis and so we will contact you the evening before your booked walk to offer times/plan forward.

I’m not impressed by any fixes that place compliance above wellbeing.

I’m not impressed by power and control.

I’m not impressed by coercion.

What impresses me is compassion.

I’m impressed by kindness, patience, and humor.

I’m impressed by dogs with opinions who aren’t afraid to be their true selves and people who make that possible.

I’m impressed by relationships built on reciprocity, cooperation, and consent.

I’m impressed by teaching that’s informed by what’s most ethical and humane, not just by whether or how quickly it works.

I’m impressed by joy.

I’m impressed by imperfect people loving imperfect dogs…just as they are.

This is why sadly we have had to cancel lots of our wonderful doggies walks over the next couple of days. It’s just not worth the risk. 💖💖💖💖💖

This is Nala.

She is a young fit Labrador who was playing football on a overcast 21⁰c day.

At 1.30pm she was rushed to Hook Vets with heat stroke.

Her temperature was at a whopping 41.3⁰c. A dogs normal temperature range is 38 - 39⁰c

Heat stroke can cause irreversible damage or even death. Thankfully her owner noticed and reacted quickly and Nala is doing well 💜 His quick actions saved her life.

Dogs that are more prone to heat stroke are old dogs, overweight dogs, flat faced breeds and puppies. However any dog of any age or breed or fitness can get heat stroke.

Signs of heat stroke are:
⚠️ Faster, heavier breathing
⚠️ Excessive thirst and drooling
⚠️ Increased heart rate and pulse rate
⚠️ Dark coloured gums/ tounge (red/purple)
⚠️ Glassy eyes
⚠️ Staggering or weakness
⚠️ Seizures
⚠️ Unconsciousness

If you think your dog has heat stroke DO NOT throw cold water on them as this can cause the body to go into shock.

On warm days you can help your dogs by:
✅ Restricting exercise
✅ Make sure they have access to cool, shaded areas
✅ Give them access to fresh water
✅ Walking them first thing in the morning or last thing at night when it's cooler
✅ If your pet is over weight start them on a weight loss journey
