- Pickles meets Frankie - While Pickles was having her medication, Frankie was getting weighted. Both girls have lung worm, but are gaining lots of weight. Pickles has doubled in weight since she arrived 🥰

- Nicki - One of the wardrobe babies was found wondering around in the day last week, in our neighbours garden. Poor little one was feeling so poorly with such a burden of internal parasites 🦠

He’s been having medication, sc fluids, pain meds and hand feeds, but he’s still really restless. Please send lots of healing to wee bean Nicki ❤️‍🩹🦔

[This time of year autumn juveniles struggling to gain weight in time for winter, are often found out in the day because they have such a heavy burden of parasite. They may look ok or like Nicki, you can see he has a dip in his neck and isn’t a the perfect round shape he should be. If in doubt, please check with a rescue]

🍂 Be mindful of hedgehogs this autumn! 🦔 🍂

As the leaves fall and vegetation gets trimmed back, remember to check for hedgehogs before you clear your garden or public spaces. These little creatures often hide in piles of leaves or undergrowth.

We’re proud to team up with the Hedgehog Preservation Society 🦔 to raise awareness and help protect them. Our highways teams use ‘hedgehog awareness’ stickers on tools like strimmers and mowers to ensure we're mindful of their safety during routine work.

- Petal & Milton - Are both doing great and nearly ready for graduation. Next week they will be acclimatising in an outside hutch, ready to go back to their home and run free 🤎🦔

[They have stayed a little longer to gain enough fat reserves for the winter months]

- Rosie - Grumpy Wee Bean isn’t keen on having her picture taken. When she came in she was full of external parasites, we soon fixed that. But she also has a massive burden of internal parasites which she’s having treatment for. Even with fighting her poorly tummy, she has still gained 102g 🤎🦔

What would you do if you found a hedgehog out in the day time?

[Did you know; hedgehogs are lactose intolerant? Plain scrambled eggs are a great source of protein for poorly hedgehogs, like new Wee Bean Rosie. Obviously Milton here needed to try egg treats as well]

- Petal - Look at those big bright eyes 😍 sweet girl struggled with her eyes when she arrived. She’s also having antibiotics for a poorly cough, but she’s doing well. Enjoying snuggling with her brother in the nursery 🤎🦔
