💥Fireworks💥

With less than 4 weeks to go until bonfire night, we know the firework season can be a scary time for our beloved pets🐶🐱

Our top tips for helping them are:

🏡 Making them a safe space to relax in, such a den with their bed and blankets over the top so they can hide away

🪟 Shutting all the windows and curtains/blinds so they cannot see the fireworks or flashes

📺 Switch on the radio/TV to create some background noise. This can help to mask the noise of the bangs.

🏠 Arrange for someone to stay with them during the evenings so they are not left alone

🐶Provide them with their favourite toys or chews to aid with distraction such as a Kong stuffed with a tasty, sticky snack

📍Make sure they are microchipped and their details are up to date in case they dart off

🐱Keep the cat flap locked so they cannot get out and frighten themselves

🐰 If your small furries such as rabbits or guinea pigs live outside, try to bring them/their hutch inside during the evenings so they don’t get frightened, or if that’s not possible put a blanket over the front of the hutch.

⭐️ Prepare during the weeks leading up to bonfire night by doing these things so they can get acclimatised to them before the big night ⭐️

We have various products available to help your pets through this time including over the counter or prescription medication if needed. Please don’t hesitate to contact us and we can discuss this further and book you a consultation with one of our vets if needed.🎇

Please don’t leave it too late as preparation a few weeks before is paramount! 🎆

UPDATE: The dog has now been reunited with its owners. Thank you to all that shared! 🐶

❗️LOST DOG❗️

The dog found on Friday is still with us as the owner has not come forward. The dog is not microchipped.

If you are missing a dog, or know of anybody who may be missing a white and tan Jack Russell Terrier please contact us at the practice on 01229 716230.

He is very friendly so we think he must be missing his loving home.

What happens when you leave your pet at the vets?🐶🐱

Please meet Rover! Yesterday Rover, the lovely Labrador, was with us for his operation. We know it’s a worrying time when you leave your pet with us for the day to have a procedure so we (and Rover) thought we could show you what happens once you leave🐶

🐈‍⬛Cat Microchips🐈

Today marks the 1️⃣ month countdown until it becomes law for cats to be microchipped.

As of the 10th of June 2024 cats over 20 weeks of age must be microchipped. This is a great movement to help reunite lost cats with their owners.

For the next 4 weeks we are offering cat microchips for a reduced price of ⭐️£10⭐️

Please phone us on the normal number in office hours to book your appointment🐾
