Good day at The Scottish Shetland Pony Championship Show last weekend although no Shetlands on board.

Both Dochie and Olly didn't put a foot wrong all day, Olly was on his best behaviour and came home with respectable placings in his classes (all thanks to bear for warming him up 😂). It was so nice to have Dochie back out after his incident at Blair which thankfully we have now got to the bottom of. He gave me a nice ride to finish 6th in a good class but a major sack the jockey moment cost us, can't say I'll make that mistake again! 🤦🏼‍♀️

Another big thanks to Gran for coming and being chief pony holder and bear sitter, I think she only comes to mess around with bear 🐻 and as always Jennifer for everything ❤️.

A rather eventful few days at Defender Blair Castle International Horse Trials 2024.

We were off to a good start on Wednesday, lorry packed and ready to go, just Dochie to load, we were even running ahead of schedule... then the lorry wouldn't start 🙈. Thankfully Mcphie Recovery Garage came to the rescue and we set off only a little bit late. We got a good run up and set up camp for the next few days, to be told 10 minutes after the tent and gazebo were up that they were prohibited. Mum & Dad got it sorted (there may have been a few heated conversations 😂) and they stayed up, well until Thursday morning when the gazebo was barely still attached to the lorry.

We enjoyed a chilled morning wandering and watching workers on Thursday as Dochie wasn't on until mid-day. So chilled we almost missed our class! After a major team effort to get him ready we managed to just make the class, poor Dochie's warm up was trotting from his stable to the lorry, I could hardly breathe after legging it all that way 😮‍💨😂.
So glad we made it as he was on top form, super forwards, to the point we had to overtake, and at speed! He was pulled 5th in the Hoys and stayed there after a lovely show in a quality lineup. Really pleased with how he went and how much go he had, especially given the ground (Dochie doesn't like to get his feet dirty, only his body 🤣).
As always I had a great night with Honor, Shona and crew, thank you for having me 🥰.

Friday started of chilled, watching classes and drinking margaritas, I think I'm going to miss these and the wraps the most 🐷🙈. We decided to give the class a miss after taking Dochie's onesie off to find he'd broken the skin where his saddle sits. We decided to stay and watch the last of the classes then head home.

Thank you to everyone who made the past few days so enjoyable, especially Natalie and Shiona for coming down to see our special boy 🥰💕 and thank you very much for my new Couronne Equestrian show breeches, I can't wait to wear them in the ring!
A big thank you to Mum & Dad, Becca, Chloe & Zoe for all your help, especially the mad rush on Thursday, and Dad for driving all the way there and back, having not driven the lorry since HOYS last year. We didn't even need pulled out!
Not forgetting Gran, Ava, Marnie and Costas who held the fort at home allowing us to go.

Sad that it's the last Blair but thankful for all the wonderful memories we have as a family there and already looking forward to making new ones at Scone in the future.

Just about recovered after a long but successful day out at Puddledub Shows summer show yesterday. It was nice to see the sun again too, even if we did all end up burnt ☀️

Misty started the day off well, having not been out since the Caledonian last year, we were just hoping he would keep it together and not show us up 😅. He had a couple of 'Misty moments' in the go round but redeemed himself by doing a nice show for 2nd in the open SHP, then kept it together to take the championship with some lovely comments from the judge also taking away a trophy, plaque and plenty rosettes. Super pleased as he can be a dafty at times but he was definitely much more chilled than we were expecting and as always I'm so grateful to be able to ride him at these shows as there's very few I still can 🥰

Dochie came along for a Blair pre-run and didn't disappoint. He did a foot perfect show to be 2nd to a beautiful shire in the rare breeds. Then we almost missed the open M&M's but a lovely lady ran to check if we'd be allowed in and after being let in late he did a good show for 3rd. Really happy as he felt fantastic, off the leg and willing to go forward, so much so I think had I asked him to gallop he would have however the ground was rock hard. Looking forward to taking him away for a few days next week for the last ever Blair ☺️.

We stayed to give Misty a spin in the supreme so we didn't get home until 10pm 😴. A super long day for us all but Gran kept herself entertained by taking pictures of my bear up to no good 😂.
We had such a lovely day chatting to old friends and making new ones and a huge thank you to everyone who let me borrow their gloves since mine disappeared , it's hugely appreciated!
It was so lovely to have Gran with us as she's not been to shows in quite a while and she used to come to them all with us and she even got her brave pants on and held Misty while mum plaited him 🙀.
As always thank you to Fiona for organising these shows, it's always a good day out and for all the little touches 🏆.

Finally got round to doing a post for the Caledonian, even if it was over a month ago. Better late than never i suppose 🤷🏼‍♀️

Misty was fantastic all weekend winning both his classes and took the SHP championship for the 4th time giving him a spin in the supreme. Very grateful to have been able to take him as he was so poorly earlier in the year but thankfully he recovered well and is back doing his thing ❤️

Thank you to Fiona for always putting on a wonderful show with so many special touches, it's such a great end to the season and a show we always look forward to ✨️

Thank you to everyone who made the weekend possible especially Mum and Rebecca, you're all appreciated 🥰

Home and recovered from the best few days at Horse of the Year Show

Dochie was brilliant the whole time, completely unphased by it all, even when he had to wait 2 hours on the lorry before we could unload 😩. We went down just looking to have a good time and enjoy the experience but Dochie had other ideas, giving me a fantastic ride for an amazing 9th! 🥳

We had the best time with so many laughs, mostly thanks to Dochie, and I couldn't be more grateful for everyone who made the trip so wonderful ❤️

Huge thank you to everyone who made it possible for us to go down but special thanks to mum and dad who shared the driving, mum for driving even when your feeling so terrible and dad who sat his theory just so he could 🥰 Another big thank you to Shiona and Natalie for coming down to support our special boy and Fiona for working your magic with Dochie this past year, we couldn't have done it without you 💙
The biggest thank you has to go to Dochie who has just been fabulous this past year, always doing his best to please and does so with a smile on his face. So so lucky to have shared our first HOYS experience together ☺️

Home after a great week at Defender Blair Castle International Horse Trials 🎉

We had the best time with friends and family and there were so many laughs had. It was so lovely to meet and catch up with old and new friends too💗

I had the ride on Lisa's novice Connie, Eddie, who wasn't at all phased by the buzzy ring, perhaps being too unphased, staying true to his name "steady Eddie" but was a star in his own way nonetheless. Thank you for the opportunity, he's such a character 😄✨️

Dochie was fantastic all week coming home with an extensive collection of rosettes but really pulled it out the bag on Friday taking reserve in the open championship 🥳 For as long as I can remember I've always loved watching this particular championship so I was over the moon to contend it but walking away with reserve was the icing on the cake. Dochie you really are the best! 🥰

Huge thank you Natalie and Shiona for travelling down to watch and support our special boy, it was really lovely having you there 💞
There are so many people to thank for making this week possible but special thanks to Jennifer as without you this weekend really couldn't have happened 💓

Super day out at Perth show ✨️

Dochie was a star taking reserve performance pony champion picking up his ticket for Olympia 🎫🎉 So glad we decided to do the class even if I was making my show up as I went along 🤣🤦🏼‍♀️

I also had the ride on Sophie 's Cassie who took the SHP championship after giving me a great ride with lovely comments from the judge 😊 Thank you for asking me to ride her and huge well done on her later results 🥳💞

Huge thank you to my dad for driving and being there all day, at least being photographer gave you something to do 😆 and thank you to my mum for coming even when you are out of action 💓

Now that I've finally stopped crying 😂🤭
🎉🎉WE'RE GOING TO HOYS🎉🎉

Dochie has been a star travelling down and stabling like a pro. He walked in, ears pricked and pinged round the ring, we even had to overtake a few people he was so forwards 😲 Still shocked to have won such a strong class but absolutely over the moon 😁 We haven't stayed for the championship as we didn't feel it was fair to him to stand and wait hours in the heat when he had been so good already.

Huge thank you to the onsite farrier for saving the day and sorting Dochie a new set of shoes and to everyone at home who has chipped in to hold the fort til we get back. Biggest thank you to Jennifer, FFiona and Dochie's wonderful owners Shiona and Natalie, who all are mine and Dochie's biggest fans and love him just as much as I do, it wouldn't be possible without you all and I'm so lucky to have you 🥰 Thank you everyone who has phoned, messaged or commented congratulating us, it means the world 💗💞

Super pleased with Dochie on Wednesday ✨️

He was initially pulled 4th but dropped to 8th after making absolutely no attempt to gallop, not even the tiniest bit faster, in a strong HOYS Highlands. Despite his lack of enthusiasm for galloping he was willing to go forwards the rest of the way round, can't have it all ways 😂 Pleased to walk away with a rosette as I honestly thought we had been binned 😊

He made up for his earlier sluggishness and was pinging in the juniors to be pulled top and after a brilliant show dropped to 6th in a really good class. Couldn't be happier as being pulled top was a pleasant surprise and being placed in that lineup was the icing on the cake 😁

So pleased with him as he tries so hard to please and is becoming much more forwards and wants to do his job, which is the aim of every ride 🥰

Really long day at Doune & Dunblane albeit educational ✨️

The day started with a huge que to get in as everyone was getting stuck going into the show field 🙃 but thankfully our wee Overlander got the job done no bother. We were stressing we were going to miss our class only to find the ring started half an hour later than we thought 🤦🏼‍♀️ and made it to the ring with plenty of time (we learnt from last week).

Dochie had his happy face on for 3rd in good company in the inhand. After an outfit change he was 2nd in the ridden Highland after going sweetly for the judge just a little slow. Very pleased as she had much smaller legs than me (7 holes shorter!) and Dochie hasn't has anyone so small on him in quite a while 😊 We didn't realise there was a ride judge so I was having kittens when she jumped on the others, however she was a lovely quiet rider which was a welcome change to many we've seen recently.

We had a 4 hour break between classes so we went for a wander and I relived my childhood with nail in a bail and even won a couple prizes 😁, only then to missread the guy thinking he was giving me a high five (he wasn't), absolutely mortified 😭. Back to the lorry for a power nap while mum thoroughly enjoyed people watching, waking up to her narrating someone trying to load their horse, so so funny 😂.

After a long wait Dochie was super in the juniors to be pulled top but after me forgetting how to ride we were rightly dropped to 2nd, just missing out on his final Blair ticket 🎟 Super happy with him as he was forwards the whole time and was willing to give a gallop 💨 It's the little wins ☺️

We had a lovely day chatting to loads of new people, even if the weather couldn't decide what it was doing and topping the day off came home with £25 prize money 💰

Thank you mum for all your help today, none of it would be possible without you ❤️

Absolutely knackered after 2 long days and early starts but over the moon with Dochie at The Royal Highland Show

After taking our time getting Dochie ready we got up to the ring to realise that the first half of the class, my half, had already gone in 🤦🏼‍♀️ Mum asked very nicely if we could go in the with the second half which the judge kindly allowed, despite all the stewards telling us it wouldn't be. Once in the ring Dochie felt really forwards (which was the goal for the weekend as he tends to get to a show and then turn his batteries off 😂) and really showed himself off in the go round for an initial pull of 2nd, which we were delighted with! He made light work of the set show given and felt fantastic while doing so to be placed a credible 8th in a massive class of juniors 🏅

We learnt from yesterday and made sure to be at the ring with plenty of time, so much so we had over an hour to spare 🙃 Dochie had his batteries switched on again and was pinging round the ring for an initial pull in the top 10. He didn't disappoint by executing another set show beautifully (and galloped!!) to be moved up the line to 6th in a big quality class of Highlands 🏆

So so pleased with his results as we weren't expecting anything in such huge classes and the goal was just to have him as forwards as possible so to be placed in both is just fantastic 😀 It lovely to have my gran and dad here watching too, thank you both for coming ☺️

Successful day out with Dochie at Stirling Show

After a rubbish start to the day with me sleeping through my alarm and then going over to find Dochie had managed to get a huge poo stain from a bit getting stuck inside his onesie, it was brightened by Dochie gaining fantastic results. He won both his inhand and ridden classes and took the highland championship winning 2 huge trophies and a sash. Super pleased with him as we had to do a quick change in between classes and they were back to back so poor Dochie didn't get a warm up. We decided against staying for the supreme as it wasn't until 3 and we were finished by 12 and it wasn't fair to have him standing on the box for hours.

Thank you Jennifer Green for being top groom, even if you did forget the girth and couldn't work the camera 😂 It was nice to go to a show and be home by lunch

Fantastic day out at Central and West Fife in the sun 🌞

Dochie won his inhand M&M and took the championship picking up another ticket for Blair and a trophy 🎫 Glad we made the impromptu decision to enter the class now 😂
By the time we went into the juniors the heat had got to him and he ran out of steam halfway through dropping us down the lineup 🥱

Becca and Diva won the open show pony and were reserve champion also winning a trophy and prize money 🏆 It's all starting to come together with Diva now after Becca spending months of hard work with her 💪

Both Heidi and Maisie enjoyed their day out, Heidi especially loved all the attention she got from everyone (and mum giving her tummy rubs) ❤

Thank you to dad for driving back and forth and mum for everything 🥰 and to the girls at home, we couldn't do it without your help, also to the wonderful stewards, who were so lovely and kept the show running smoothly 💕

Round 2 today was a success 🙌

The 18hr shift was well worth it but knackered after 2 long days 😴 Super proud of the two boys, especially Dochie who never missed a beat all weekend 😊

Super pleased with Dochie again, giving me a fabulous ride again to get another green one in another good lineup of ponies 🤩 Couldn't have asked any more of him over the past two days and the icing on the cake was all the lovely comments about him, it means the world. 🥰

Misty was back to himself today winning the 133 shp and champion RI shp, booking his return trip to our favourite show 🥳 Becca rode him beautifully and really showed him off, proud of you kid ❤️

Thank you to everyone who kept an eye on us and gave us a hand throughout the day whilst mum was away, we really appreciate it 💞 It was also lovely to catch up with people we haven't seen in so long and so many people we know doing well and picking up their own golden ticket 🎫 See you all down there 🤞🏼

A sunny day out at Ayr Show ☀️

Misty went beautifully in the go round however when he went out to do his show a pole fell in the sj ring and unsettled him, he kept it together for his show but again when asked to walk round he had another moment to himself 🤦🏼‍♀️ Absolutely gutted as the judge had said to Becca he was the clear winner when he walked in 😭

Dochie was an absolute star after rushing around getting him ready to only have a 2 minute warm up 🤩 He was so forwards and gave me a lovely ride round, doing everything asked of him (other than galloping, but that's too much work for him 🤣). So so pleased with him and his credible green frilly in a strong lineup 🥰

A long but successful bank holiday monday spent showing 👌

Rebecca started the day off with Misty having their pre run for next weekend as she hadn't ridden him in almost a year. As time went on the better she got him going by the championship she had him going beautifully! Will be super happy if she rides him like that next weekend 😍

By the time I was in the ring with him he was well and truly ready to go home but still gave me a lovely ride. It's nice to get back in the ring on him when I can 🥰

Becca's new pony Mia had her first outing and took it all in well despite having a complete meltdown just before Becca got on, which continued for some time. Becca handled it like a pro and kept riding her through it and eventually Mia settled and got in the ring. She took it all in and went really well for Becca to be just outside the placings but so happy she got in the ring and did everything she was asked 😊 Hopefully the more she gets out the better she will get 🤞🏼

Thank you Jennifer for plaiting and driving, we appreciate you taking us even though you weren't feeling too great and thank you to the girls at home who did the yard allowing us to go ❤

It was really lovely to see everyone again and so many people we know doing so well and getting their RI tickets! 🤩

Super start to the season yesterday with Dochie ✨️

I could have cried when I found a poo stain on him after spending forever getting him white again (he thinks he's a hippo) and battling to get his onesie on (that's supposed to keep him clean!).

After scrubbing him again we made the 10 minute journey over to SNEC in our new 3.5 tonne, being one of, if not the last, to arrive as we were the 2nd last class of the day allowing us to leave at 3pm!

Once arrived we had a quick catch up with a few friends then got Dochie ready. After a quick spin in the warm up we headed in the ring where he gave me a lovely forwards ride just lacking some oomph in his gallop to take second, picking up his Blair ticket 🥰

Super happy with the result as it means he can have a few weekends off and just have fun at home until his RI qualifiers in a few weeks.

It was lovely to have such a chilled start to the season, having all the ponies and yard done before we left and only having one pony and one class, so no rushing around.
