Younger dogs with hip dysplasia can benefit enormously from stem cell therapy.

Kiki had already had a hip replacement and had been recommended to have a second hip replacement on her other hip along with surgery on her knees and elbows. Owner Mrs Spencer was considering euthanasia due to Kiki being in so much pain.

Kiki was treated stem cell therapy and within a week she was back to jumping and pain free.

“I just can’t believe it, the results are off the scale. Within a week I had my puppy back! She was pain free.” ~ Mrs. Spencer

🌟Revealed: How stem cell therapy can help a dog with arthritis🌟

What exactly are stem cell cells?

Stem cells are potent healing cells in the body that can transform into other types of cells.

There are hundreds of types of cells in the body in both humans and dogs. Each of these has a specific job. For example, red blood cells carry oxygen.

By contrast, stem cells are undifferentiated and are capable of 1) making a copy of themselves, and 2) creating the more specialised cells needed to replace those lost to injury, disease and daily wear and tear.

🌟How can stem cell therapy help a dog with arthritis?

Stem cell therapy allows us to isolate stem cells from a dog’s own fat tissue, grow and activate them and inject them directly into damaged areas.

In the case of a dog who has arthritis, stem cells can help repair damaged tissue inside the joint thus reducing pain and increasing mobility. It really is that wonderful.

14/12/2023

Elbow dysplasia is a collective term for a range of conditions describing abnormal development of the elbow joint. These are inherited conditions that tend to affect medium and large breed dogs.

Traditionally the treatment of coronoid disease has been to remove the medial coronoid process using arthroscopy. Sometimes this is combined with surgery to re-align the ulna so that it becomes congruent with the radius.

Arthritis occurs whether the dog has surgery or not and this arthritis is often severe and crippling for the patient.

Stem cell therapy can be used following surgical procedures in an attempt to limit arthritic changes and in some cases can be used in place of surgeries.

Stem cell therapy is a powerful therapy because it can help to regenerate cartilage and function in the elbow joint thus reducing pain and enabling the dog to become much more mobile.

“We’re really glad to be able to offer this stem cell clinic, treating dogs for arthritis who otherwise wouldn’t have access to these cutting edge techniques.” ~ Dr Stewart Halperin

Stem Cell Vet is headed up and founded by veterinary surgeon Dr Stewart Halperin BVMS MRCVS.

Stem Cell Vet is a pioneering company dedicated to transforming the lives of dogs who suffer from arthritis.

Stewart understands first hand how upsetting it can be to watch your dog suffer from arthritis in fact it’s why he became a vet.

Stewart became a Vet because he never wanted anyone to hear the words he was told by his Vet, “There's nothing more we can do".

As a young boy his dog Benji had difficulties with his back legs.

Despite seeing many vets, his family was told there was nothing more they could do for Benji.

Stewart felt helpless seeing his dog having to live with pain.

It was then that Stewart decided to become a vet and dedicate his life to helping dogs live pain free and happier lives.

⭐Find out why this dog had to have stem cell therapy twice... Meet the lovely Runa, who visited the clinic recently for stem cell therapy (again).

We first saw Runa back in April 2021 where she had her first treatment for arthritis in her shoulders, elbows and hips.

Treatment was successful however 2 years on, Runa developed issues in a new part of the body - in her stifle joints.

The great thing was that we already had her stem cells stored from her previous treatment so we were able to treat her joints with stem cell therapy.

We are expecting a great result and look forward to seeing Runa live the happy life she deserves.
