HEAT WARNING

Hello everyone, as we are all aware it is incredibly hot.
If your dog has an appointment at the salon whilst we are experiencing this heat although the salon is air conditioned if your dog is struggling with the heat please don’t be afraid to postpone to a later date. In these circumstances there will be NO cancellation fee. The safety of your dog is my priority, it’s not just the grooming but the transporting your pet to me.

Stay safe and hydrated everyone!

❌ RAPESEED! ❌

It’s that time of year again where farmers fields have blossomed into pretty yellow flowers, these plants are called rapeseed. Although it may be tempting to place your dog in the mist to take a scenic photo, please avoid this at all costs!

Rapeseed is extremely poisonous for dogs, especially in highly sensitive canines.

Rapeseed is listed by Dogs Trust as toxic to our dogs if ingested and can cause symptoms such as:

❌Haemolytic Anaemia
❌ Blindness
❌ Damaged Nervous System
❌ Digestive Disorders
❌ Breathing Problems

Even walking through these fields should be avoided! In June 2019, a dog has been reported to suffer from severe open wounds after running through a crop of rapeseed.

Please seek immediate veterinary attention if your dog shows any signs of rapeseed poisoning!

Yes please to starting that grooming process early. Get used to brushing at home and understand the skin. My webinar with Jo Angus will help you with maintenance of the coat and skin. https://www.animallovepetfirstaid.co.uk/educational-webinars

It is so very important to start early, also the groomer/dog relationship will be a more united one if you introduce them as soon as possible.

Please do not leave these poor dogs to get matted and dislike something that is important for them for the rest of their lives. It may seem like its just hair, but that hair needs to be cared for to help skin health.
