All I can say is, what a winter😳😵‍💫 I think we all need to celebrate surviving that one🥂, it rained, it poured, then it rained some more and some more and more..more more... then maybe just to mix it up a bit it through in a few storms😤 on the bright side the horses have made it happy and well and are out out enjoying some lovely fresh grazing, their human servants might need a few drinks and a rest to recover from the trauma.

Now, if you'd like a change of scene we have a couple of spaces, ginger(the cat) is offering free feline therapy if you or your horse is in need. 😊
We offer a variety of livery types from Assisted DIY, part livery, through to full livery and schooling livery, for all ages and abilities, on our 11 stable yard.

⚜️Open, airy, sociable stables (and more private ones for horses that prefer their own space)
⚜️All year round grass turnout (individual or pairs)

Thought it was about time for an update 😊 Winter in Cornwall is always.. well lets just say a touch wet 😝 This years has been extra special! No need to worry, We've been quietly getting on with making sure we've got some happy horses. A couple of months ago we completely renovated the all weather turnout area. All I can say is what timing. Yes we've still been getting them out in the winter fields whenever possible, but when its just storms and floods this has been giving the lovely horses a much needed place to play, roll and just be horses with the added bonus of reduced mud fever. 😊

💥🍾🥂6 Month Anniversary! 🥂🍾💥

Wow! What a 6 months it’s been since we took over South Woolley Livery !

Firstly a MASSIVE shoutout to every single person who has tirelessly worked, scrubbed, fixed, jetwashed, painted, mowed, fenced, hauled crap, done tip runs, fixed broken doors, drains, roofs, fields, de-cobwebbed, fixed metal, s**t shovelled (a lot!) etc etc…

Back breaking work, all done with the most hilarious, lovely people with 1 main thing in common.. a need for a fun, safe, clean place to enjoy our horses 😁🐎

From working various 5 star professional yards where no excuse is good enough, the horses are treated like royalty & the yards are kept photoshoot ready all of the time..

We knew we had work to do.

It’s taken a while & there’s still some work to do.
But we are now proud to say the yard is now fully functioning, safe & clean.

With an almost full barn of fantastic horses & owners, it feels like we’re getting there! ✨🎠🦸‍♀️✨

Here’s some lovely Friday afternoon food for thought 💭😌

Don’t over complicate it....

There was a time when you were just happy to ride, happy to be in the company of horses. It didn’t matter if you could execute a perfect lead change or jump double clear rounds. You were just happy to have two feet in the stirrups and ears leading the way.

You didn’t care about having the best tack, the coolest boots, or the newest hi-tech breeches. An old ex-racehorse, your favourite, and wearing a worn out pair of jeans with a colourful t-shirt did the job just fine.

You didn’t spend the days between Christmas and New Year planning a heavy schedule of training sessions, clinics and competitions. You threw tinsel round your pony’s neck and went hacking with friends. The new year was just another 365 days to go riding.

Don’t forget that you started this sport because you loved the animal. You loved the rush of galloping across open fields and the serenity of watching horses quietly graze in the sun. You do this because there is nothing on this earth that makes you feel more alive than being on the back of a horse, so don’t overcomplicate it.

Enjoy the little things, because one day you will look back and realise... they weren’t little at all.

Some of you may know me, some may not, however I’m very excited to be the new Manager of South Woolley Livery!

I’ve had a lifetime of horse & animal care & training.
I cannot wait to share some fun with you all!

I’ve worked & trained professionally on many different yards, in many different disciplines with the widest variety of types of horse (& client!)

I’m excited to welcome you into my world for a fresh, clean, uplifting, accountable & positive way of horsemanship.

Forget your old worn out habits, ways of thinking, doing things ‘because that’s how I’ve always been told to do it’
Doing things you don’t even know why anymore..
A lifetime of instructors telling you to ‘put your brave pants on’.
A lifetime of livery yards, judging, gossiping, giving ‘advice’. (You don’t tend to see these lot doing an awful lot, other than leaning on the fence giving said advice..)

Don’t be brave, be well trained 🙏

This is how I work.
How I have been trained to work, from my various coaches, on some fantastic yards.
I’m a massive advocate of having FUN with your horses.
You can be competing Grand Prix or Happy Hacking.
The heartfelt reasons should all be the same.

We hang out & spend soo much time & money on these beasts cos they’re bloody brilliant, beautiful, able & fun!
