The street dogs of Romania have horrible lives, everyday they have to fight to survive. Many people are out to kill the dogs as they see them as vermin, they are captured off the streets by 'dog catchers'. They are then taken to 'public shelters' where they are left to starve, these are the lucky ones. The others are poisoned, bludgeoned to death, injected with bleach - the horrifying list goes on

. THIS HAS TO STOP - it it not fair that these dogs have to suffer in this way. I fundraise to bring these dogs to the UK and to get them into homes where they will be part of the family and will be loved and safe, they have already suffered enough, they deserve a family to call their own. Norma is home and was surprisingly spritely when I collected her, she’s now fast asleep on the sofa after having her dinner. There was one fairly big stone in her bladder that was removed and it will be sent off for analysis and is going back to the vets tomorrow for a check up , she seems fairly comfortable though, let’s see if the peeing stops now or if it’s habitual .

Little Norma is at the vets today having surgery to remove stones from her bladder, it’s always a worry but especially when they’re older but she seems healthy otherwise and her blood work was good on Tuesday.
Tuesdays bloods and scan came to £365.41
Todays procedure is estimated to be

Norma is at the vets having tests today, they have called me to say that she will need surgery as she has a bad case of bladder stones, and because it’s gone untreated for years her bladder is also very thickened , I’m waiting for a call back as to when this will be.

I’m looking for sponsors for little Norma, she’s back with me now , I had some tests done as she has been a habitual piddler in her homes.
She’s been back with me just over a week and I noticed the other day that she peed a drop of blood, so I took a urine sample to the vets the next day and it turns out that she has crystals in her urine , she’s booked in on Tuesday to have a scan and possibly an X-ray to see if she has stones as well, if it’s just crystals then they can be dissolved by a special diet, if she has stones then she’ll probably need an op. Poor Norma hasn’t had the best life, she was a breeding bitch for her first 4 years, then when she came to me I sent her to be neutered and found out that she had a broken jaw! It was repaired and she hasn’t had a problem with it since thank god, she will be staying with me now indefinitely so that I can keep an eye on her, but all of this treatment is going to be costly so I wondered if anyone would like to sponsor her to help me cover the costs.

I rescued some chicks in summer and of course 3 have turned out to be cockerels , they are all silkie crosses, very nice birds, not aggressive at all but they have started crowing , i do know someone that takes cockerels and rehomes them but for me it’s finding the time to take them there that’s difficult, so I thought I’d try in here first if anyone wants them. They’re not very big, only bantams.

Jim is patiently waiting for his lucky break , he has been with me for over 6 months and is now 1 years old, he is bigger than his sister , not quite as big as a Bassett hound but bigger than a cocker. He 100% needs to live with another friendly confident dog so that he can feed off that dogs energy and give Jim the confidence that he needs in a new environment, he’s a lovely boy and is very playful, he loves toys but also likes to destroy them! He lived with cats before coming to me so I presume he will still be ok with a confident dog savvy cat. He loves going on walks but also having cuddles .
He’s had all his blood tests and is negative for Brucella and heartworm . He is fully vaccinated, microchipped and neutered.
His adoption fee was £450 but is negotiable for the right home .
He is in Hertfordshire.

Rosie is still waiting for her lucky break , she’s waiting for someone to open their heart and their home to her . She has been with me for over 6 months and no applications ,she is approximately 1 year old now , she 100% needs to live with another confident dog as the world can be a scary place so she needs a doggy companion to show her the ropes, she needs a very secure private garden where she can let off steam . Before she came to me she was good with cats so I presume this still to be the case, older children above 8 years preferable as she does tend to jump up when excited. She’s about the size of a cocker spaniel and is fully vaccinated , microchipped and neutered. She’s a friendly girl that has a lot of love to give but need time and patience to settle into a new environment. If you think you can give Rosie what she needs then please get in touch .
Her adoption fee was £450 but I’m happy to reduce this for the right person.
She is negative for Brucella and heartworm .

Little Bagel is hoping that the new year brings him a new start in life, he’s approximately 5 months old and ready for his forever home .
He is a really sweet calm pup that is very loving . But he is a chewer so will need lots of appropriate chews to keep him occupied, he can live with another dog or possibly be an only dog as long as he has human company for most of the day, he can live with older children of over 8 years old and I’m sure he’ll be fine with a dog savvy cat, he’s just a pup and will want to play.
He is fully vaccinated and has had his Brucella blood test in Romania, however some vet’s in the Uk want this test done again after 3 months so check with your vet before applying as this will be an extra expense that you may need to consider.
He truly is a special little boy that will complete any family .
His adoption fee is £450
He is in Hertfordshire.

Thank you to everyone that has offered to get food for the dogs , and sent some already, I should be ok for a few days now and hopefully well enough to go shopping after the new year. I’m overwhelmed by everyone’s support and kindness.

Unfortunately I’m still unwell and can’t get out to the shops but I have nearly run out of food for the dogs, I wonder if anyone local would mind popping to Tesco and buying some chicken drumsticks ( raw ) just until I feel well enough to get out.

Cookie and Bagel went on a little road trip to the vets today for a health check, it was their first time on the lead and Cookie was pretty confident , Bagel was a bit nervous but got lots of cuddles by the nurses and even the vet! They were tired out after their trip and had a well deserved snooze, probably dreaming about being someone’s special friend for Christmas……

Santa’s little helpers!!!!

Cookie and Bagel had their first walk yesterday, it was a bit shaking to start with but they soon loved it once we got over the park.

The crazy gang have arrived!

The pups have arrived , very cute but noisey!! They both have home so are not available anymore.

Who knew this scared little dog would be so playful!!

This was this afternoon!

I put Meg in the kitchen with the small dogs and Angel on Friday, I put her in a crate so that she felt safe and the others could see and sniff her. She was very scared at first , she hid at the back of the crate all day, then yesterday afternoon she ventured out!

Then 2 mins later!

Meg this morning, I know she still looks scared, but a positive is that she’s not hiding in the corner now and slept in a bed. Baby steps.

Foxy has been spending a few days with my niece when she’s not at work, she has never had a dog before and is teaching her some tricks. This little dog is so eager to please and greedy and is very clever, she has been perfectly well behaved , she’s fantastic on walks, she pretty much ignores dogs out on a walk, she may have a sniff but then quickly moves on, depending on where she is walked she can be let off and her recall is pretty good as long as there are treats to be had on her return and no distraction of wildlife or cats! She loves everyone that she meets and loves nothing more than a cuddle on the sofa and in bed!! Foxy is such a fantastic little dog , I really don’t understand why she’s still with me. She is approximately 4 years old. She is in Hertfordshire Her adoption fee is £350

Foxy went with a friend and her dog to a secure field today to let off steam.
