Ringworm isn't a worm but a complex fungal skin condition. In hedgehogs 🦔 it ranges from slight crusts to waxy patches ...& sometimes complete spine & fur loss. This young lady's new spines are begining to come through.

Luckily the finder knew exactly what to do...as this is the second one!!
If you find a 🦔, please put food & clean fresh water out ...there may well be others. There isnt enough natural food or clean puddles..only mud ☹
This little lady is dehydrated, very underweight & suffering from lungworm & roundworm.
Keep your fingers crossed for her 🤞

Camera monitoring 📽 helps us make sure hogs 🦔 are fit for release. Zaphod here is a special older lady who has been practicing nest building & foraging. She returns to her finder with a nice big house (she is just over 1.1kg 😳) & support feeding.

BEFORE & AFTER..What a difference a bath makes !! 😳🛁
This is Brick🦔...he has ringworm, mange, ticks & fleas...not sure how he has managed !
Keep your fingers crossed 🤞. Ringworm can be really tricky to completely resolve but hopefully a good start.

European hedgehog populations have suffered huge declines in the past decade.

Not only are pesticides in our gardens reducing their insect food sources, they can also poison these small mammals directly, while roads, urban development and agriculture are all threatening their habitat.

But there are so many ways we can all help! Here's how to make your garden friendly:

🍃Leave small gaps in fences for easy movement between gardens.

🏠 Create shelter using log piles or hedgehog houses.

⚠️ Skip the pesticides.

Please please be careful in your gardens...🌱🌿🍃🍂🍁
This poor young hog was only a few months old & has terrible injuries. I couldnt do anything for her other than pain relief & a last meal before an emergency trip to the vets for euthanasia. Please take a few minutes to check before you mow, strim or use tools in your garden...an unnecessary death of a vulnerable animal.
Rest in peace little girl 🦔❤

We had a lovely couple of hours visit on Monday for 2 hedgehog fans, both lovely humans, interested in hedgehogs and their plight. 🦔🥰🫶🏻☕️🧁 Will Young NOTE, the contact time with one of our hogs was 3/4 mins, she needing cleaning out anyway, there was no additional lighting in the rescue cabin, PPE was worn, no selfies were taken and no audio recorded.

Thanks soooo much to everyone that has purchased hoglet bits, we have started to get a few in. The video is of little Robin, only a few hours old arrived chilly from a disturbed nest. We were helping WRAS out keeping him over night until they could pick up. Fingers crossed for little Robin. Ax
